- Kashmir is called heaven on Earth, and how can the food of Kashmir be any less. Kashmiri Food is divided into 2 different parts, the Kashmiri Pundit cuisine who are pure veg and use no onion, no garlic and Kashmiri Muslim cuisine who are hardcore non-vegetarians.
At weddings, food is served in a huge plate called the Wazwaan, where 4 people sit and eat from one plate in which they serve 34 different dishes, how cool is that?

Kashmiri pandits are voracious non veg eaters. However they do not consume onion and garlic. Hence their version of dishes call for use of yoghurt and asafoetida instead of onion and garlic. But they do eat meat with lot of enthusiasm.

All Kashmiri Muslims have taken up a fine Semitic religion Islam from Kashmiri Hindus. The same people, same ethnicity, same culture. Krishna Dahba is not Kashmiri. Kashmir is Aryan Central Asia and her food unique.

There is no sugar in haakh (collard green) preparation ! This is more a Kashmiri pandit prep with the use of hing! And definitely not the authentic wazwan ! Next time try at a place run by Kashmiri guys 👍
