Crazy how we still don't even have the base color white, I can't even make my halo spartan because as far as I know there is no white and red coating.

Pick up the Halo novels you can either read them or listen to the audiobooks. All the audio books are really well produced.
If you want some more Halo story then those are the best spots to get them now. Halo for me isn't even a game franchise; It's a book series.
I would recommend either starting with fall of reach, or the Master Chief story trilogy that recently got released.

    • @anonymous7564
      @anonymous7564 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

Idk why these rumors keep coming up. CA has always worked with Bungie, and then 343 Industries, on Halo's multiplayer. This isn't news.
However, there also isn't any new Halo multiplayer entry being developed as of current. The recent project that CA has been working on is still viewed as Tatanka.
The only difference was the "modders", who were Pilots (beta testers for new patches for Halo Infinite), were removed from their access in early 2023 with layoffs.
As for CA, they also announced their recent Unreal Engine 5 project not too long after this comment, which is their co-designed entry and why they were UE Certified.
Halo Infinite's multiplayer is here to stay, being updated and extensively changed each year, for at least 5 more years, if not more. Maybe this time, it'll focus on the major aspects of the core of the multiplayer, rather than only Social playlists (of which a low unique amount of people actually played more than the required 25 games, if they even got past the required 25).

    • @anonymous7564
      @anonymous7564 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

As I know more about this project now after discussing with people on this project, this is a single player Experience driven game, which will be multiplatform (assuming they can get it on these other specified platforms) and will feature a protagonist familiar in the ODST/Reach stories, rather than Chief. The game will follow closer to the TV Series instead, which would specifically be related to getting people "into" the franchise.
As far as the type of game it is, I said it here; Experience game, like a Life is Strange, or an RPG-Based game, if you will.
Originally I was hinted at Halo wars, which there may still be one in the works, however this seems to be the case.
Halo Infinite is the current multiplayer game projected until at least 2030, with major updates coming later this year to change almost all of the games positioning in the FPS market.
Halo Infinite launched as a "community social game" and failed to not just deliver upon launch with this, but failed to capture audiences even when doing this. Most of it's audience had always been geared toward "Ranked Arena", with classic and even Halo 5 providing clear analytical data that states Halo's major captured audience was always it's lightly competitive audience, rather than those that have a "great disdain" for competition.

    • @anonymous7564
      @anonymous7564 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yes, we do. It's in custom games, they simply didn't add it to matchmaking because assault is "too competitive" for social playlists.
If you're wondering why they didn't add it to ranked --
That was becasue they wanted to add the "new and changed" Extraction to bring a less competitive, RNG metric to Ranked Matchmaking and HCS.
Both of which were never actually Halo, but they were "Halo" to the Halo Community.

Games that are neck and neck, where the only sure way to win is by playing above your abilities, be it through better planning, more focus, improved team communication, whatever. But it’s fun to not be so serious all the time. That’s what custom games are for, or the Training Grounds playlist if you don’t have enough Friends online to form a custom game. But we believe that games that challenge you to rise above your current abilities are the most enjoyable and the most rewarding."
      - Bungie 2004 - 2010.
Infinite has always had the potential of being a good Halo game.
The problem is that 343 lacks the foundational push to remove every ounce of "not halo" from matchmaking, mostly due to a community of folks who hate Halo's competitive matchmaking history.
Needless to say, Social Composure hopefully will come soon, which will push there to be only one "social" playlist, and then provide ample capability of numerous ranked playlists to be permanent and staples, around the time for Halo 2's 20 year anniversary.
You know, the games (Halo 2 and Halo 3) that not just jump started Ranked Matchmaking, but were the most populated multiplayer entries in the series for their time.

Would love to send a PSA to all developer companies and that’s to not ship a game half finished. Especially when you have 6 years of development time between games like 343 did. I know management was to blame… Empty/Broken promises of content that would be in the final product hurt their pockets and fractured the community.

    • @anonymous7564
      @anonymous7564 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

The ironic part is that no game developer has this issue.
Not that they release games fully finished -- but because they don't cater to an audience of non-competitive youtubers who goal post shift what qualifies as fun depending upon how successful they are at the video game in question.
Valorant, CS2, APEX, Fortnite -- four examples of entries literally not even remotely completed at it's launch. I could also add in The Finals & yes, even Warzone.
The issue has nothing to do with the completion, or inclusion of content post launch, of the game.
It has to do with the audience the content is for. If all of the content is geared toward a "single player centric" audience, absolutely no one will play it as it provides zero content to the vast majority of people trying to play the competitive (player verses player) multiplayer component.
Halo Infinite's biggest problems was focusing on the "Halo Community" and trying to appease them before the consumers.
The consumers wanted more Ranked playlists, something that was a staple in Halo, not firefight or forgeable ai.
The consumers wanted less information on the map, not "more aim assist".
The consumers wanted a more difficult to use weapon, not "more aim assist on autos".
The consumers wanted more weapon skins and basic master chief look, not "lore armor".
The consumers wanted progression based on your skill (like Halo 2 and Halo 3), not "overall exp progression copying halo reach".
The consumers barely got a game.
The Halo Community got almost a bible written for them, for them to claim "the issue is that it's too late" while entirely disregarding that no one, besides their small little niche, asked for this.
The only true learning point for any developer through Halo Infinite is: "This is why you don't listen to your most die-hard non-competitive fanbase for a competitive multiplayer fps".
Because, at the end of the day, they only want to feel like they're God's at a video game, and if someone is better than them, then the game is instantly "too sweaty", and making numerous areas for safe spaces for them, tailoring every weapon to make easier weapons kill faster, and making every aspect unbalanced to provide a level of 'unbalance' to an otherwise game built on equality among starts; Is why the game failed.
Halo 1, Halo 2 and Halo 3 were the most competitive variations of Halo.
      How do we know this?
Look at what the community always says. "The sandbox is imbalanced", but why? Oh, they claim it's because the precision rifle that you start with kills far too fast.
Imagine for a moment the implication.
The "imbalance" is because the weapon you start with, that requires accuracy to get perfect shots, kills faster than the weapons without it. Almost like the entire principle of the game was for you to learn how to improve.
I'll leave a simple quote from Bungie, dating back in 2004.
"The goal of Halo 2’s level system is first and foremost to help you find the most enjoyable games possible.
Almost like the actual problem with Halo Infinite is the entire lack of comprehension of the Halo Community to what actually defined the popularity of Halo.

@@TheEscapePlan01 Want to know the real elaborate troll? Thinking that the failure of a game is pinpointed by the incapability's of an individual developing the game, rather than the consumers liking of the product in question.
For example: Helldivers 2 is successful because it's not an already established, and popular, IP trying it's hand at a PvE cooperative shooter genre.
Halo had been established, in it's multiplayer all the way back since 2001, as competitive. We can "play devil's advocate" and lump single cases in with the majority and claim "no, no, it was a party game" -- but was it? How many people, in 2005, played Halo 2 to only play Tower of Power of Gangsta's Paradise? How many 18+ adults played only these attributes, or Cops & Robbers, and not "Matchmaking" (Which was only ranked and underneath skill based matchmaking, because it was competitive lol).
The only contrarian takes are the ones that point the failure of a perfectly working game on the developer, instead of the consumers who influenced the developer to push that direction.
To me, telling people that "Halo will bring back millions to the game if it has forge, a custom games browser, infection and firefight" is contrarian.
Telling people that Halo's only allure from it's dawn on Xbox Live (2004-2010) was it's unique level progression solution (1-50), in which was the only entry of the time to feature both Skill Based Matchmaking & Skill Based Progression.

I think the funniest part is that Halo 1 - 3 only added a singular to two (3 total, 2 in Halo 3, 1 and in Halo 2) new vehicles between the two entries; And with the most vehicle heavy entry being Halo 4, I view the "mentioning vehicles being added" as a staple of "I'm repeating what I'm told online". Both of these entries, Halo 2 and Halo 3, didnt' even carry over the new vehicle per title. Meanwhile, Halo Infinite not having "as many vehicles as Halo 4 or Halo 5" is equally as stupid as not realizing how little people cared about the inclusion or addition of them -- it's a talking point. If they added 3 new vehicles, and it changed zero individuals playing BTB, would it have really mattered?
No lol. Much like it wouldn't have mattered if they added 30 social playlists or dedicated half the game to "party". No one played Halo for these attributes, not in the past or present -- in the presents it's even worse, as most who play any FPS do so strictly to play ranked.
Remember that one time in 2001 - 2010 where Bungie added a new vehicle 2 years after the game launched? Yeah, good times. (they never did, and there was barely any social playlists. Halo 2 and Halo 3 focused on it's ranked playlists, not social).
Even Clan Matches had an in-game tournament system, bonus points to the older folks, like myself, who actually remember this.

These aren't "new vehicles". These are reskinned concepts of the same thing. This is what 343 has done in Halo Infinite, of which you're complaining about.
The only Halo game with legitimate new vehicles is Halo 4.
"Please stop licking 343's boot so hard, it cannot be good for your tongue."
I'm not licking any boots, you dumb f***. I'm insinuating that you're blinded by your childhood nostalgia and have no idea what you're talking about. Halo never "introduced new vehicles", nor were they ever front and center. Halo is not Forza. Halo is Halo. The intention of vehicles originally was to provide an optional route to quickly bring players from one location to another with objective.
What you want is additional new bad-player friendly vehicles, which is not (even remotely) what Bungie ever added.
"Also Bungie HAS added vehicles post-launch, such as the transport Hornet on Halo 3's Sandbox map."
By extension, each iteration of the current vehicles added into Halo Infinite is a "new vehicle".
"Sorry that you never cared about Halo's vehicles, but for a lot of us they were another unique gameplay element"
Almost 99% of players never cared that deeply about them. You requesting new ways to utilize ease of access shooting doesn't dictate it was ever part of Bungie's design philosophy. You have no idea what you're talking about.
You want Halo 4. Not Halo 1 - 3. You're the one "licking the boots of 343" if you believe that Vehicles are what separated Halo from CoD, rather than it's actual matchmaking (You know, sbmm -- the thing Halo invented for FPS via 1-50).
But go off, child. Let the one who was 18+ when Halo launched in 2001 actually remind you what Halo was.

Like you know how in say Reach maps you knew you were playing on a map that's been made in forge it's kinda like that.
Then the lighting as well I don't know it all just feels off besides the armour. (Until it's in a well lit area)
Also, I'm not a fan of how it's all very balanced around a competitive experience.

@@uBpGK They actually just fixed it this past week. The game engine now is actually more stable than almost every Unreal Engine 5 game (ironic).
What is truly missing is matchmaking, almost all of the matchmaking is geared toward "social" Halo community members -- AR Starts, extended long distance radar, extended long distance maps to play hide and seek, loads of vehicle centric playlists, and loads of party centric playlists.
Only one ranked playlist, with one half-arsed Ranked Slayer playlist with, again, horrible forge maps created by "the community" added into it.
I lay this quote from Bungie out so people remember, 20 years ago, Bungie pioneered Skill Rank into their games (10 years before every other game) and this was, in Halo 2 and Halo 3, over 85% of the offered playlists (ranked playlists) with nearly identical competitive settings, minus radar being disabled and game battles changes for mlg in 2008 (because Halo 3 launched Game Battles).
"The goal of Halo 2’s level system is first and foremost to help you find the most enjoyable games possible.

The totally ironic part of the agreeable points is that the concerns here are "competitive" concerns.
IE: "Controller has such an insane advantage especially with 240hz"
In a world where you don't care if you win or lose, or you think every game isn't important (at all) and nothing matters at all when you play it, and the game itself isn't even important, your take away is "crossplay, ping, unfair".
All of these concerns are because Halo Infinite removed the remaining bits of competitive integrity post it's launch all due to a community of folks who say "Halo is not a competitive game".
All of those people don't understand that the level of competition is dictated by the stakes on the line, not how the game is being played. If it's player verses player, where skill and teamwork dictates who will win, it's a competitive game.
Halo had traditionally (classic) been a low stakes competitive game, with higher stakes gearing toward tournament play, and no-stakes only being a niche (4-6 Social queues in Halo 3, 3-4 in Halo 2; opposed to 12-15 ranked queues).
The point I'm making: Next time someone says "Halo is not competitive", remember they're the reason why there isn't separate queues for Keyboard & Mouse and Controller, or why KBM has assistance applied now, or why assist buffs keep happening to weapons, rather than nerfs that should have appropriately took place...or network stability, etc.

Don't worry, Halo isn't a competitive game. They added 4,000 armors and 10,000 armor coatings all lore centric so you can get your casual fun on.
(I'm being facetious to make a point, claiming Halo is "non competitive" while being a multiplayer centric entry where you play verses other players is entirely stupid and fails to grasp why Halo's multiplayer was always significantly more popular than it's story. In addition, being that most of it's playlists were "ranked", it's primary function of multiplayer was always low-stakes competition, or competing for a skill rank, verses no-stakes competition, or playing for no rank, known as social. Seeing as how there was over 14 ranked playlists in Halo 2, 4 unranked, and 12 ranked playlists in Halo 3, 6 total unranked, we clearly see the problem with this perception).
Needless to say, if Halo was suppose to be a "social" or "casual" game, adding weapons wouldn't have been important since the intention behind playing Halo Infinite wouldn't be to "use the weapons", but to casually socialize, have non-competitive fun, and play wonky custom games.
Hopefully I made that joke clear, and hopefully this crosses the creators mind and says "You know, that's a good point, if Halo isn't suppose to be competitive then why do people keep asking for competitive function in a non-competitive game."
And hopefully, at that point, they'll say "Maybe it's that the people who suck at video games want to not be reminded that they suck at video games and can't improve, while the majority of players don't have this issue, which is why they want ranked playlists and why they feel unranked/social is boring and why the games population always suffers."
(The irony here is Halo 5 had over 300,000 after it's 2nd year, and over half of that population was playing ranked playlists, with the "casual community", coined by themselves, being upset that Social BTB and Social playlists didn't get unique new maps but had forge maps instead. Almost like the entire issue is that "343 needs to focus only on me" is strictly the reason why Halo Infinite is failing, as all they did was focus almost entirely on the "Halo Community" defined by a specific niche, rather than the players as a whole).

I am convinced that 343 was to afraid of earnings that they over tuned the micro-transactions. They also announced the game too early and believed in release now fix later strategy that cost them their player base trust if there was any.
There were many things done right but as much or more done wrong:
1)The art style is as good or better as halo ever looked personally
2)Audio design is amazing, and halo infinites music is so memorable and identity.
    3) the campaign story is finally not dog shit
What’s missing that stood out to me:
    1) There is no lobby in multiplayer after a match
    2) horrible customisation and micro-transactions
    3)no playable elites
    4)no split screen
    5)horrible progression system
    6)horrible battle pass challenges
    7)lack of game modes
And much more, some of this were finally added after sometime. But what I’m implying is why were they missing on day 1. They have so many games before for reference to learn and improved on.

    • @anonymous7564
      @anonymous7564 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@jasperfox6821For starters, it lacks reasoning to spent time playing the game.
For example, you can jump onto Fortnite, Apex, Counterstrike, Valorant -- and all have a set defined reason why you play, and that's to improve and win. Halo Infinite's focus is to appease a community of folks who never wanted to play an FPS but wanted to in-game cosplay in the lore and play community driven maps in playlist with no stakes outcomes.
Classic Halo, as in Halo 2 and Halo 3, almost every playlist you played had a low stake on the line -- your rank. This defined the purpose of why you played what you did, and what provided you incentive to return. The lack thereof this, and entirely continued pressure to "make the game easier and more digestible for the bad players" (to the point of adding timers to every weapon, hitmarkers on every grenade, radar that's expansive in 2024, an announcer that tells you when power items come up, and even physical countdown timers for power items that tell you where they're located and what time they'll be up; Halo Infinite itself is a shell of what "could have been" the best Halo game, if it wasn't held back by a community of people who were so piss poor at the original games that they required handicaps to feel better playing it for zero stakes.
I'd argue the moment 343 stops focusing on trying to make Halo Infinite "more digestible for the lore nerd to play multiplayer", and the more ranked offerings are added, the more players will start to play the game again.
The less impactful weapons like the AR would be at a range, the more likely players are to learn how to accurately shoot their weapons and want to learn how to pace their gameplay to win.
To stop the brainlet that says something like "you just want everything to be an esport" -- it doesn't require money on the line in order to feel a sense of fulfillment and an accomplishment of winning. That's why multiple FPS games that are highly competitive are casually played by tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions of players constantly, and Halo Infinite, much like Reach & 4, tailor to a small community "niche" with only a subset of the focus going toward the majority of players.

    • @anonymous7564
      @anonymous7564 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

It's not that it's not good, because it's actually one of the best that 343 has pumped out. The continuous issues that everyone ignores is the lack thereof focus on areas that use to be staples of Halo, but seemlingly were viewed (by 'the community') as "totally not staples but niches".
Like Ranked Playlists; Once the most populated locations of Halo 2 and Halo 3 for their entire lifespan, "Ranked playlists" were the majority of playlists in the original entries- - and Halo Infinite is entirely missing them.
Weapon balancing and projectile velocity -- Halo Infinite has far too many powerful easy-to-use weapons with balance permitting weapons, like the AR, to have minimal spread and drop off, such that spraying it from a distance can just instantly reward kills.
Lack of developer maps; Because the "community" claimed in 2022 that they only 'want' forge maps, 343 simply delayed releasing their developer centric maps and never adjusted appropriately coined developer maps in order to appease the very same community that claims Halo never had ranked playlists (lol).
And that's just the tip of the iceberg if I'm being honest.
Every map weapon is put on a rack, which has a physical countdown timer on it.
All weapon weapons have countdown timers physical timers, and an announcer (your ai) that tells you when it's coming up.
Outlines make it physically easier to see opponents, thus making everyone almost near visible at every turn and even through poor geometry via forge maps.
Keyboard and Mouse has assistance that's greater than every other FPS game that exist (lol).
It's not that Halo Infinite isn't genuinely a good game, or that it doesn't have potential. It's that the game hasn't had the ability to be at the potential to attract and retain players, since the only vocality Halo Infinite ever has continuously is the person who thinks it's "bad" if they lose to someone who is better than them at a video game, and it's "bad" to tell people how good they are at a game, and it's "bad" that people have fun improving at the game, and that it's "bad" that people view a skill level as a sense of progression.
Instead, those particular individuals who claim "it's bad" want a game where they're only playing it to "pass time by", and never want to feel like their 10,000 hours inside of the game netted to zero skill achieved, as it'll have to provide them with the distinct reality that they "wasted their time", which they don't want to be told that. Despite Halo 2 and Halo 3 having no care about how much time you put in the game, and it was all about the capability of you as a player to learn, grow and improve -- not "because you have this great hate for competitive games."

It’s definitely the best customization system in Halo. The cores combined with cross core capabilities make it ideal for me. Even back in reach and halo 3, we didn’t have anywhere close to the amount of customization we have in infinite. My main complaints lie with weapon and vehicle sandboxes along with not having all classic halo maps in matchmaking. To add to that, I feel that since this game is called Halo INFINITE, it really should’ve had everything from previous Halo games… imagine if we had warzone, breakout, etc…. Still is. Contrary to the Halo Community pushing a gamble on clicks (no offense to Majestic Gaming as I'm sure they didn't catch on), there is a new Halo entry in development, but it's non-multiplayer and non-mainline. It'll be multi-platform and specifically be tailored to get people over to the Xbox brand and specifically to play the mainline Halo entries.
Coined directly from 343 Industries, it's an Experience game, which from who I was talking to recently, is exactly as described:
"What the players experience as a consequence of interacting with a game. These experiences are generally studied in light of metrics such as flow, immersion, competence, challenge, tension, and negative/positive affect."
Ever wonder what Halo would look like as an Action RPG, where you 'choose' and interact? Worry no more, as by 2026 it'll be, for a small fee, available on all platforms since it doesn't follow Master Chief, in fact, it should (in theory) happily bring back memories of Halo Reach and ODST (Ironically it'll be end up biting 343 in the arse because the 'community' never cared about these things, they're contrarian). Yes, this game has no multiplayer. And yes, this is a marketing pitch game. There's no guarantee of the platforms it will be on, but they're shooting for all platforms.

the fact they even announced they were gonna start focusing on a new game is delusional. Desync is still a problem, they spent like three years just making the game playable. That's three years they could have been working on giving us permanent ranked playlists like team slayer, doubles, snipers, skirmish; creating actual firefight maps instead of just forging grunts onto boring multiplayer maps (these issues shouldn't even take that long to fix and create).
They could have actually been delivering a memorable experience and giving us something worth our time. Now that the game is just okay enough to play, but stressful because the social experience is gone and you can literally feel the algorithm and when a game is rigged, they announce they're gonna work on something else. That's just unacceptable. 343 was given a piece of gold in halo and they can literally never make a halo that doesn't sell. They'll always be here, making mediocre and terrible Halo experiences, because Halo will always sell. Imagine how much more money would be generated, and how much more fun we could be having, if 343 was kicked to the curb forever and an actual competent studio worked on the game. 343, Microsoft, whoever, killed it. It's so sad how this predatory moneygrabbing behavior has infested video games. And they freaking had chief take off his helmet and the actor said something along the lines of "you can't emotionally connect with a character if you don't see their face." I've been playing halo for 20 years and never saw chief's face. The fact I live in a reality where Halo is messed up in the most avoidable and braindead ways absolutely ****** me off lol

Truthfully Halo would never succeed as something like Helldivers, as Halo's entire core gameplay and mechanics were never going to work like that (ever). You'd have to create a brand new spin-off series entirely separate from the entry to make it equal to that, and even at that point -- you'd have to hope that there's enough lore-heads to keep your game alive, seeing as how the only reason Helldivers 2 is popular is distinctly due to it's contemporary and wonky lore. And even that point, you're at the whims of assuming that people played Halo for it's lore (which will be entirely inaccurate for the modern era).
Now if Halo did this, say in 2006, this would probably have shot off like a rocket, but we're past the era where Halo's story and lore is unique, or even relatively viewed as "peak" scifi.

But don't worry, "halo is not a competitive game" or whatever the community says, so you shouldn't feel upset if someone cheats -- since it's "not competitive", you shouldn't expect competitive integrity.
(I'm being facetious as it's the only way to put the point across that there's no such thing as a "casual" Halo game, it's all competitive -- it's the stakes on the line that determine the level of competition. Halo definitively was meant for low-stakes competition, or "Ranked" gameplay, with "no stakes" being the select few unranked playlists of Halo 2 and Halo 3, and "high stakes" being tournament play, which was always a thing dating back to the 80's and 90's. "Casual" gaming is not relevant in the FPS space, and it's more of a Mandela effect than anything, but for the sake of argument -- we can assume "casual halo" is defined by a community of custom game players who shored their likings on a forum called "Halo Waypoint" and the developer assumed that they were all of the players of Halo.)

I provide a singular quote from Bungie that directly says what's wrong with Halo Infinite.
"The goal of Halo 2’s level system is first and foremost to help you find the most enjoyable games possible. Games that are neck and neck, where the only sure way to win is by playing above your abilities, be it through better planning, more focus, improved team communication, whatever. - Bungie 2004 - 2010.
(Level System was the 1-50 Ranking system, known today as "ranked" matchmaking. This was almost exclusively all Halo 2 and Halo 3 had for matchmaking. Halo was never CoD, and Halo trying to be a "social casual game" is why it's boring to the broader audience).

      @anonymous7564 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@Dude00002 Well I suppose let's reply to this one appropriately as you're not being argumentative here.
I disagree with the "if Infinite launched in its current state" (or in relation to), as the problem with Halo Infinite's launch was exactly what we have today, except an improved networking model lol.
Halo Infinite failed because there was nothing else to play besides "social", which is the problem.
Halo Infinite's launch specifically targeted older adults who played, namely, Halo 2 and Halo 3 directly -- it's entire target audience was gathered upon nostalgia mixed with the "classic Halo" vibe, with the "MLG Era" being directly in line with Halo Infinite's launch.
The problem was post launch. The focus on and after launch was on the following:
      - Armor
      - Store
      - Battle Pass
      - Unranked gameplay
      - Forge and Forge leaks
      - Unique Social Experiences/Custom Experience
      - "Party flavor fun"
      - Lore in Armor
      - Armor Coatings
      - A dozen, to two dozen Social playlists over a year and a half (going on 2.5 years actually), with only one ranked playlist.
The actual players wanted the following:
      - Less focus on store and battle pass
      - Removal of cheaters, perma ban & hardware ban of cheaters
      - Network model fixes that were geared toward the competitive integrity Halo had been known for in the classic era
      - Region locking to prevent overseas people from forcing server selection to hit them (Something Halo always had until this entry)
      - More ranked playlists, namely permanent ones that were staples to the franchise since 2004 (Slayer, Swat, Lonewolves/FFA, Doubles, BTB, Objective, Control, etc, Classic)
      - Weapon rebalancing and turning to provide a "Halo" feel, in which primary precision weapons were dominant, not pickup non-power weapons
      etc.
See, a lot of the problems that people had, as in the actual audience (not the "Halo Community youtuber audience of those who hate Halo but want fps to be geared toward their niche"), was that Halo Infinite was lacking the soul of Halo's multiplayer experience, defined in Halo 2 and Halo 3. Definitively, the "creator community" blamed the Game Engine (lol) while 343 literally said "The problem is we can't have all of these social playlists with also staple ranked playlists" dozens of times, and no one listens to them. An internal solution pitched before management and leadership changes by now former developers was to remove Social queues and replace it with a singular "social" queue which you can search for all options in one (aka, the "Match Composure") and then add Ranked playlists as staple playlists.
And that's the answer to how Halo Infinite will turn ground, seeing as how it's the only mainline multiplayer entry planned until at least 2030 or later (now a known fact by those in the know), the solution for reviving Halo Infinite relies solely on bringing up classic ranked dominant gameplay back to the forefront, and pushing "social" to the niche category it was in the Bungie years of Halo.
What people misunderstand is that Halo 2 and Halo 3 only had between 4 - 6 social playlists at a given time, with 4 being the average and 6 being "When 343 Studios took over" (lol). By comparison, there was always well over 12 ranked playlists consistently there, with Halo 3 having from 10 - 12 usually, and Halo 2 having in excess of 12 to 15 ranked options.
To simplify a lot of this, Halo Infinite could come back if 343 focuses primarily on what makes Halo an FPS, rather than focusing on "How to please the youtuber who claims the edgy alt-culture thing they said to get clicks". As it's evident that even following closely what a Halo TH-camr says "will fix Halo", ends up making Halo Infinite less popular than all other counterparts (ala the 'focus of 2022 - 2023 social and party games').
Statistically, the most raged out maps in Halo Infinite are community-created Forge maps, but this had always been known as Forge maps in all of Halo had always been the most "quit dominant" maps to exist inside of the entry, Halo Infinite stands taller and says "You'll only have a 10% chance of obtaining a developer map" on social playlists, which increases that quit rate to a staggering 80%.
I digress, however, as that's off on a tangent -- Halo is where it's at now because "the community" claimed Halo was a "social party game filled with custom games and experiences that provided casual fps players a place to play". 343 triple-downed on this, and provided 18+ Social playlists, with only 1 ranked playlist.
This is absolutely a polar opposite of Halo 2, which had mostly ranked playlists (15) and less than 5 social offerings at a time, 2 of which were rotational (one of which was a paid map playlist dlc).
And you can quickly see why I wrote what I did. Halo Infinite is in a poor place, particularly, because the "community" claims that Halo is something it never was, and then 343 responded instantly with appeasing them, time and time again.
This isn't "new" to 343 Industries, they did this with Halo 4, and again with Halo 5.
Halo Infinite was a fresh ground to start new on, and start appeasing regular players (who typically lean toward Ranked playlists because, again, this is Halo), and they simply ignored everything but whatever the "Halo Community claimed was important". It took them over a year to even balance the BR for keyboard and mouse, and again over a year to even adjust the mangler, let alone just remove it from the map (which was all that was required to provide fun to the game).
Even now, they pushed the mechanic back to the original parameters -- yet disregarded that numerous "forge" maps have mangler spawns all over them intentionally because the community that "builds these maps" literally only has a disdain for "pro players" despite regular consumers being the market, not pro players (and regular consumers hated the mangler, pro players just agreed that it's overpowered).
343 Industries since recently this year at least has started to take shape and provide a direct answer to each problem that exists within Halo Infinite.
Their first tackling the netcode, which they finally did.
Next they're tackling the matchmaking and how it matches players, and how it ranks based on this.
Then they're tacklling the playlist problems that exist, which hopefully will return Halo to a predominantly Ranked setting for most players (providing a singular location to not play an FPS without a consequence, ala "no time wasted").
      Etc.
Halo Infinite has a brighter future than it did it's start, but it's taken 2 years of "constant failure" by 343 to acknowledge that the "Halo Community" wanted a game niched to a certain subclass of players, not the overwhelming majority -- and although 343 Industries developers knew this, the leadership did not, and only wanted to have their names not smeared because "TH-camr took their name and claimed they required this for money" instead of acknowledging that they only listened to "community feedback", which asked for exactly what is being criticized.
When it comes to "Why Halo Infinite like this", it's as simple as someone saying "no one asked for this" and responding with the actual video, tweet, or reddit thread of people asking exactly for that a year ago.
The Halo Community if full of clickbaiters, attention cravers, or people who want to play an FPS without any merit of learning to improve, and then telling everyone else "i shouldn't need to, this is just a game lol like i should be just a pro immediately because i have thousands of games played thats how it works lol".
Until 343 fully removes that, you'll still have HaloFollower claiming the next Halo mainline multiplayer game is going to Unreal Engine (it's not, that's a multiplatform experience game that's not even multiplayer), or some guy complaining that "HCS gets so much attention" while ignoring that the overwhelming majority of players to all of Halo, who do not play Halo Infinite, only pay attention to HCS because it's been a tradition since 2006 for them.

@@Dude00002 "Bungie included those special game types into matchmaking." Do you mean Action Sack? Sure, but that's not every playlist. That's one lol.
"3 and Reach were for online multiplayer purposes probably the most played and as the lifecycle "
Reach was 343 Industries post launch. Reach was the game that collapsed the player base, cc numerous creators (iCURRazY,
7thSenseTV, MoreConsole, DrexyVids, AlphaFix, Dr Mongoose, etc) who will disagree with this in their respective period of launch.
"The competitive landscape is what it is and the people who enjoy that will always enjoy that, but the rant of “unhappy TH-camr” is something that isn’t quite true."
That's almost exclusively what the Halo Community does. Moreover, players choose how they play the game in question. If they want to play it competitive, they're going to, and it doesn't change how the game was designed or what certain people get upset about.
"For me and a lot of friends I grew up with, we drifted away from halo because it felt too competitive. "
Which Halo's? Halo 2 and Halo 3 were incredibly competitive, almost no area was non-competitive unless you joined some little squeakers role play lobby (Which being over 18 at this time, was a literal FBI arrest lol).
Halo Reach was the failure point at this, with halo 4 and even Halo 5 both being predominantly non-competitive, Halo 5 only edged that out for having at least ranked playlists, bringing the whole "If Halo had ranked playlists again" debate from 2010 to reality (cc those creators above).
"We have always enjoyed sitting back and playing weird game modes like Griff ball or fiesta slayer."
So you played post 2010, is what you truly mean to say -- Which I get, but you don't get the capability of claiming that "everyone" did this. Almost no one did, Reach and 4, in particular, are the two entries that dominated the "casual Halo" market place, of which both failed miserably to capture more than a few thousand players at a time. Again, you don't need to go far to prove this -- it's on youtube (I didn't bother linking this to another person who doesn't dare receive the satisfaction -- but search by date and you'll easily see in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 the problems with Halo Reach & Halo 4's population was due to the entire lack of competitive spaces and the direct focus on a market that was niche, much like Halo Infinites).
"Or downloading the community maps and playing things like the super happy fun slide or the toilet bowl. "
This is cool and fun at all, but nothing stopped you from doing this in Halo Infinite -- And to claim "this is what everyone wanted" is crazy. You can't depict what everyone in the globe wanted within halo by that, or else the majority of people would have played when Forge came out. Spoiler, they didn't. Forge barely saw an uptick of a few thousand players on each platform respectively, with the largest uptick being "Adding Bandit Evo to ranked arena" (No really, 60,000 players, 48,000 of them exclusively played Ranked Arena and Ranked Doubles for the better half of almost a month).
"I am aware that things are different now but we are in an era of gaming where everyone wants to be sweaty and try hard because they’re think that they are going to make it big on twitch."
This is where I both agree and disagree.
Yes, everyone is more sweaty and try hard now, but that's the product of not just society, but player-verses-player games in general. You were a child when you were playing with your friends. Halo 2 and Halo 3 were unbelievably sweaty and try hard games for their era. Not only was the "competition" player verses environment (ala CoD), but Halo's entire goal was to win. The more you win, the higher your level goes (1-50). The more your level is, the better you intrinsically are at the game, which in turn provides internal reward to that player. Not only was it revolutionary for the time, Halo pioneered "competitive" into matchmaking as early as 2004, and this was the staple playlist option for Halo 2 and Halo 3.
Fast forward to today, the reason why it's "so sweaty and try hard" is because the opposite is boring to the vast majority of players. That's why Battle Royale took off so much; You don't just "win", you win against 100 other people. You beat 100 people fighting the same goal. The intrinsic reward in being good was what was required, it has nothing to do with twitch or "being a big streamer". Hell, this entire notion is so unbelievably stupid it comes from naivety and a hefty misunderstanding of what an FPS is.
Checkout the song "MLG Pro Song (by Euee)", and you'll quickly acknowledge that was made in 2009. At what point do we start pinning the "pro gamer" phase on Halo, the game that provided Esports not just in 2006 on live TV in the US (USA Network), but had hefty prize pools for that era?
Nevermind that -- as it's not even the entire direct point.
The direct point is that people will always want to be better than another player at game that's player verses player, and Halo was no exception in the past or even now. The only real exception is 85% of Halo Infinite is catered toward a crowd that thinks "this is bad" while the other 15% fosters over 75% of the player base.
"Gaming has changed vastly since halo 3 and I understand that, I was one of the few people who truly thought halo 5 was fun."
No, gaming hasn't lol. Halo 3 was hyper competitive, even more so with Halo 2 since Halo 3 launched with Game Battles, and even featured (for the first time in any video game) a pro specific playlist, MLG in early 2008. You simply were not old enough to see that, or didn't acknowledge that.
And I get the speckle of "omg first online game on xbox 360", but Halo 2 on xbox Live was equally as sweaty as something like Ranked Arena in Halo Infinite. I'd argue more, since most of the players were at least evened out to the same skill level, where in Halo Infinite, you sort of play the same skill level, but it's not since bad players get boosted to higher levels depending on who they are playing with.
"But the community continues to say “we aren’t COD” and then complains when they get things vastly different than COD"
Yes, because the majority of everything added into Halo Infinite (and Halo in general) gravitates around a "casual" player base that doesn't exist. Halo never fostered a casual player community -- Halo always fostered a competitive one, and a hyper-competitive one (MLG).
Although I get people love revisionist history and love that person who screams "No! No it was casual!", but it just wasn't lol. You literally trash talked your teammates, trash talked the opposing team, told everyone they're trash, 1v1'd them constantly, practiced your strafe and shooting (Octagon for example), practiced leading at distances, practiced skill jumps and various methods of traversal, and practiced to "play the game".
The actual developers of Halo 2 and Halo 3 definitively also stated the point of matchmaking was to be competitive, and yet the notion that "We're casual" is why people keep floating back to the "We aren't COD" statements.
It's not because we try to clone whatever Call of Duty does -- It's distinctly because Halo was never popularized, remotely, as a "casual audience" game.
We didn't attracted people of general gaming, we attracted "hardcore" FPS players. We attracted the same people who grind for rank in apex, valorant or counterstrike.

Although there are probably a larger group of people that want that over social-only playlists, it'll still fail to capture much of an audience.

I'd argue it's because there's only one ranked playlist, and there's mostly social playlists all of which provide zero intrinsic value to the player as the important factor isn't "how good you are able to do or will do over time", but simply "how will your outfit look today in game".

Current state - still an unplayable desynced trash nearly 2.5 years after launch... Content does matter, but not when a game is broken at its very core.

Interesting feedback that tells very much more about the disconnect between "actual players" and community audience players.
    Let's elaborate.
    - You discuss areas that were "staples", but neglect to acknowledge that none of the included playlist added into Halo Infinite were staples until past Halo 3. Halo 2 and Halo 3 staple playlists were ranked.
    - You discuss infection being known for it's 'mini games', yet these mini games were never apart of matchmaking, at least before 2010. Requiring them to be is equally as obscure as believing the 'reason no one is playing it is because of this', when in reality -- it hasn't been popular (as in, heavily populated) since the early days of Halo 3.
    - You discuss inclusions being added into the game, claiming there's a healthy amount of playlists -- but forget (or simply never knew) that Halo 2 and Halo 3 primarily only had ranked playlists, in which were never touched in Halo Infinite.
    - You denote BTB in Halo Infinite as being "sweaty" while entirely disregarding that not only Halo 2 having three ranked variations of BTB, with Precision weapon starts (BR), but were denoted around the notion that winning was the only method of progression. While you believe that an unranked variation of AR-Start Automatic Slayer with minimal incentive to win is "super sweaty", it more stands to reason that the issue is your incapability of acknowledging that the "lack of appropriate skill based matchmaking" (As in, you aren't matching with people your exact skill level across the board) denotes that you're going to experience uneven matches wherein you're fighting someone who is significantly better & significantly worse than you consistently.
    - You claim that Firefight has a "limited amount of maps", despite it having double the maps as Ranked Arena, of which all those maps are brand new (2023+).
    - You claim squad Battles needs "more maps", despite there being nearly three times as much as Ranked Arena, and of which, newer maps (2023+).
All of which Ranked Arena has mostly the same rudimentary maps since launch due to the continuous attempt to "make halo casual" (something Halo never really was, at least defined by the community that thinks reach & 4 were the peak of Halo).
And I'm only 5 minutes in.
Quite honestly, the last problem is that you bought into the "community" attempt to push the focus away from Halo Infinite, despite 343 never saying anything the community claims 343 has stated.
For example, 343 never stated that they were "done with seasons".
They stated that the current state of Season's doesn't work with their future plans.
That they are moving away from Season's, at this time, to bring "Content Updates" while they look toward future projects (for Halo Infinite).
That they are moving away from the "Season" model, as it currently stands, to change the future direction.
To claim that they are "not having big seasonal content updates" is a stretch, as most of their content updates never came with the seasons.
The "seasons" provided new Battle Passes, or rather 'armor collections" for consumers through 100-tiers via "play game to earn armor". While the community pretends it's impossible to do, the only thing location you cannot gain armor in easily is Ranked (Which brings the secondary problem I'll get to shortly).
The statement 343 actually provided was simply that they are getting rid of "seasons" until they can push out the smaller & larger content faster. To elaborate, in order for minor or major updates to push, they had to wait until the cycle patch (season) due to the approval processes required to do so. In this method, the "CU" method, they could bring patches & updates seamlessly without requiring waiting weeks to months for useless cosmetics to be bound to it.
The additional clarity via 343 insinuates that they are no longer focusing on customization, not that they are no longer "supporting Halo Infinite".
They even stated directly that major, and large, updates are coming to Halo Infinite -- including condensing Social into one playlist (As what should have happened) to improve already extremely low player counts in numerous social playlists.
In doing that, they can rectify the largest issue of Halo Infinite:
The blatant ignoring and removal of staple Halo content: Ranked Playlists.
Halo barely had Social playlists pre 2010. If there was 14 ranked playlists, Halo 2 had at most 5 unranked options. If there was 12 ranked playlists, Halo 3 had at most 5 unranked options.
There's no reason for Halo Infinite to have 20 social playlists, 4 of them focusing on Firefight, 3 focusing on "party", 5 focusing on "casual party", and 3 more basic foundational competitive Halo but with "AR Starts" to please the few insecure people upset that they need to aim on a controller to play an FPS.
    This is Halo.
The Community has gate keeped Halo from the millions of players who wanted to play it since the launch of Halo Infinite, and now since 343 is ignoring the communities requests, the community has been on this "lol new halo game" train, thinking that pushing misinformation and confusion will pressure 343 to listen to their ignorance and absolute chaos again.
The only reason Halo Infinite lost so many players was the continuous attempt to pressure 343 to remove all forms of competition from the game. If 343 were to have launched with 8 Ranked playlists, and 1 social playlist, no one would have batted an eye but the 20 Halo TH-camrs who were guaranteed to be confronted with the problem that "casual Halo" was never actually popular, and they grifted a community of younger audiences of "casual gamers" to get their ad revenue.
The funniest part is watching Certain Affinity announce their newest project, unrelated to Halo, and directly state it's the game that required them to be certified to work on Unreal Engine. Furthering the disinformation train the community keeps spreading.

@@namelessstranger1270 TLDR: sweating in Ranked Matchmaking is fun for everyone who played Halo 2 and Halo 3.
What's not fun is the removal of Ranked matchmaking and a focus on party games created in a custom game that almost no one played, and then put into matchmaking as "social".
"The goal of Halo 2’s level system is first and foremost to help you find the most enjoyable games possible. Games that are neck and neck, where the only sure way to win is by playing above your abilities, be it through better planning, more focus, improved team communication, whatever.
Halo 2 pioneered, nearly invented "ranked" matchmaking for all FPS games. You never wanted Halo.

@@anonymous7564 You started your comment with an incorrect statement. There's far more to the Halo community than just Ranked players. The Ranked players only constitute a tiny tribe, one of dozens. It's been that way since H2, since H3, since tournament play ever came to Halo. It's just you got your head screwed-on backwards and clouded in your signature insane Competitive-only dogma. Your dogma tries to minimize, belittle and invalidate anyone who plays Halo for genuine fun; but I reject your dogma as being wrong, untrue and downright absurd. You're the kind of kid who thinks all the other kids ONLY want to go down the slide at recess, not realizing that most of the kids are bringing their friends to hang together on the monkey bars.
That makes you naive. The Infection Community by itself is probably 5× larger than the Ranked players ever were. People like casual fun with friends, it's legitimately that simple.

@@namelessstranger1270 "There's far more to the Halo community than just Ranked players"
Sure, the few thousand people enjoy more than just ranked playlists. How about we focus on the rest of the audience, instead of a few thousand insecure people that are upset that they aren't the best at a video game they sink their time into.
"You're the kind of kid who thinks all the other kids ONLY want to go down the slide at recess, not realizing that most of the kids are bringing their friends to hang together on the monkey bars."
Weird analogy. Let's peddle this for a moment -- My insinuation is that all FPS entries to date post Halo 2 had followed Halo 2's formula, including Halo 3, wherein the ones that "do not" end up having the worst wraps for "bad sbmm", while ones that do all focus on Ranked play over unranked offerings.
"You" want unranked, and the game failing to deliver an audience, are coincidently the same thing.
People do not have fun in an unranked environment.
      It provides:
      - Zero progression (intrinsic, you can't get this through net games played)
      - Minimal to no balance (as physical rank being paired with physical rank shows a balance being utilized)
      - No enjoyment for progressing upward via wins and determination for winning after a loss
      - No punishment for losing
      - No achievement for winning
People do not play games to "waste time". We're talking about adults, not children. Time is the most valuable asset a person has, especially over 18, and especially over 30. The notion that "no one wants to play ranked" is equally as stupid as not realizing the reason why we have minimal players on Halo Infinite, today, is due to the absurd focus on "social".
I can pull the data right now, as of today at 10:27am, there is a total of ~9,000 players. over 7,000 of these players primarily played Ranked Arena or Ranked Slayer collectively. By "primarily", I definitively mean "Most played", not "they didn't travel elsewhere". All of the "social" playlists combined have less than 3,000 concurrent players, as of this moment, with it being the following order (from most to least populated): Squad Battle, Halo 3 Refueled, Husky Raid, Super Fiesta, Big Team Battle, Tactical Slayer, Quick Play, Lone Wolves, Infection, Firefight King of The Hill, Big Team Social, Firefight Heroic King of The Hill
To put that into perspective; Firefight requires 4 people to start a match. There is less than 100 in one of the two playlists, and less than 50 in the other.
There is just over 600 in two of the social playlists.
And there is over 4,000 in Ranked Arena alone as of right now.
At peak hours, this is discrepancy is only worse, with additional players not being in Social, but being in Customs (Which I didn't even factor in here, as the number itself is actually incredibly low).
The problem that exists with the "Halo Community" is they all think their little niche is the most "popular thing", despite it being a niche. If Halo was ever popular as a "social" game, Halo Infinite wouldn't have such a low population. The actual physics, the actual gameplay -- the game itself for Halo Infinite is close to a classic experience as a modern Halo can get. The problems that exist here is the lack thereof location for people to play "Halo" with only one to sometimes two locations to play.
When they get bored of playing Ranked Arena, they travel to one of the 2 dozen Social playlists (lol) to experience horribly built Forge maps and rage quit offline. Almost no one quits out of Ranked matches (factor under 20%), but over 80% of Social matches has quitters. The notion of "quitting" defines clearly that the player isn't happy with the game, the match, or concept or has the determination, time, or energy to complete the match to it's conclusion.
That defines that over 80% continuously each day dislike the match being placed, while less than 20% dislike Ranked matches -- and I'd argue that 20% has at least half of which who had the game crash on them, rather than quit.
But keep pretending that "Halo is only popular as _____", while disallowing the actual notion that "Halo had mostly ranked playlists, but only a few unranked offerings which were never a focus" from 2004 - 2010. Halo Reach, and definitively Halo 4, are the two titles to introduce "social" and "casual" into Halo, which are the two least populated titles of their respective multiplayer era.

@@anonymous7564 Your reality is demented, chum. We've had this argument before and I already know your illogical points. Your fundamental overview of Halo gameplay both legacy and modern is based *on an absurd obsession* with meaningless virtual rank. Going further, you've manufactured an insane dogma that I promise you, you are the only one with this dogma serving as your whole mindset. I've talked to thousands of people in various discussions centered on Halo over the years and you're the only one who goes: "N-no!!!! The only REAL HALO PLAYERS are in RANKED MATCHMAKING 24/7!!!!!! You're not a real Halo player!!!!!! *severe cold sweat* oh my God, I de-ranked... My life is over."
Adults play games for enjoyment, not for some kind of secondary validation that their lives have worth if they reach a rank in-game.
