Dude since I found your maths with proof videos I've basically just been following your guides. Would love for you to do a "fix your freyna" at some point in preparation for her ult coming out she's my main 👍
I've been spreading you and your information everywhere I can man. Been watching since you started R2. That was a little more niche game, so I didn't really share with more than my personal friends I played with, but with the TFD stuff I can spread you like wildfire, and they love it. Anyone I've showed your stuff to has basically sworn off any other content creators. Haha. Keep up the amazing work. You're the hero we didn't know we needed.
Thanks for the comprehensive video. A JP youtuber made a video pointing out the individual weak point bonuses but of course it's only in Japanese, so it's not surprising the info never trickled over to the EN side; plus they only gave numbers for Dead Bride as proof of concept, so major kudos to you for testing and publishing the numbers for every single boss. They also are just assuming a flat 20%, no answer to your question about the type bonus against colossi (th-cam.com/video/C4-oYqkcCtU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TN8l2-M_kSnk9tgK&t=487 for anyone who's curious)
Ye after publishing had a few peeps mention this, def had not seen it but it's nice to see someone else at least tried to prove it, was amazed that someone like me who started playing the game way later had to come in and show it, so it is a relief someone else got onto the same track before I did. Faith in humanity isn't completely lost.
TY for doing all the damage testing. I actually kinda wanted to make 'Overframe' but for TFD, as a side project, you know how those go XD Still not started, well, i have a folder in my computer with the name XD All this reverse engineering will be very usefull for when i make the weapon damage calculator. I'll have to study this and the other videos again probably, but very good explanations :)
Lmk if you do. There's a site up trying to do overframe's job and I'm not liking it that much. I will never make a builds sharing hub, but I'm already way ahead of you on the calculator end of things. If you end up making a hub site and don't run ad bloating to oblivion, I wouldn't mind working with you to export to and from. I already do something like that with another site for the game Remnant 2, where they have a site for a hub and build sharing/rating etc. while mine handles all the math and people can export their builds to and from to see the results, change it, and then send it back to share with others.
@@VashCowaii Tbh I just wanted a tool that would calculate how good my next mod is, so I can decide when to start putting qol instead of damage. If you beat me to it, so be it, I mean, once the calc is done and more importantly the ui, the sharing shouldn’t be that hard but it would be expensive, since it would require a database. A simple one, but it would increase the cost substantially I’d imagine. I think I will still do it just for the learning experience, it would be my first one man website, well, apart from the ones you make following tutorials, so if only for the experience is gonna be worth it, so yeah, best of lucks, it’s a race now! XD
The video isn't meant to say you can't shoot certain spots anymore, the video is meant to prove how it works bc nobody had actually given an accurate breakdown on weapon math yet
@@VashCowaii and we both love the video and hard work you put into bring this info to the masses. Now I know the best spots for atk, are the ones I can't hit. Lol
I love the way you talk, the amount of swearing kept my attention by being funny and made it easier to understand. I hate when games do all this fucked up hidden math + the amount of problems UI has in this game. I don't want to beat my head into the wall or go through college to understand how one aspect of the game works. I like experimenting builds, but not enough for that.
You da man. Bro I just realized the different type weaknesses on parts, thanks to you. You da real one, not like the other "math" guy (can't stand that dude)

Holy fuck that's cancer!😂😂 Bro I'm dying!! I suck at math so I have a hard time following sometimes, but I totally appreciate the work you put into these! And the knowledge I do get from your videos are helping me play and understand the game better. 👍
Good stuff...kinda helpful for certain people...me i still do my own calculation and it helps me more then depending on others...thats how i finish most games faster then most youtuber ...nonetheless good effort....one thing i want to tell, i hope youtubers and people who think they are good at the game, for god sake stop calculating at the Lab ..not to mention they even do it on a level 1 monster....like do monster resistance just dissapear when you go to real location ? ...
I'll be honest and say that probably 95% of people shooting anything in this game think along the lines of "oooh pretty colors happen when I shoot that part, shoot that part more!" To me you're invaluable bud.
God tier info, appreciate the effort my guy. (....now how to convince stubborn d-bags on the fly without my brain leaking out of my ear....) Questions for later / food for thought. lmao my problem not yours 👍
more good stuff two questions, would you put weak point sight on EL? most people use two fire enhancements, but now seeing weak point damage is good no matter the base multiplier I think the blue mod could easily replace the purple fire mod. even though all mobs fold to the lightest of breezes it would be awesome if you could look into why they take such significantly different damage based on faction. order of truth has 0 defense (i think) because naz devotion literally doesnt work in the lab on the level 100 enemy. based on meuis calculator they take the "correct" amount of damage form electric and non attribute sources. meanwhile legion of immortality and darkness have respectable defenses, but there are weird things like the legion of immortality taking more damage from chill than the legion of darkness. but based on the scan from the ecive, it should be the opposite.
Im curious if doing more bonus damage to Colossi than listed has anything to do with colossi being made up of individual parts with their own types and doubling up on the bonus unintentionally because its part of the same entity, that or they just have a unique modifier they dont tell you about which wouldnt be a first it seems. It is nice to see a lot of things I expected be confirmed by someone smarter than me though. I am curious about visual cues though. When you are targeting a weakpoint on a Colossi it eventually looks like you destroy said weakpoint and im curious if that changes anything or is purely visual.
heey vash the weakpoint type you see at the boss screen are correct you just forgot that pierce is good against crush and crush against burst and burst against pierce.. so if you look at the sensor and the balancer weakpoints they are both crush so the best option is to use a pierce weapon on those weakspots to get that bonus and for the core weakspot crush would be best since it is burst type and thats how you can see wich type wpuld be best against certain weakspots of the boss the type of weakspot you see at the boss screen just indicates the most common weakspot he has every boss has more then one so it would be ideal to bring out a pierce, crush and burst type weapons with you
So on the colossi info screen would it be more accurate for it to say non-weak point ammo type? I think I remember that head shots aren’t a weak point on colossi, so there are no weak points other than the components that each have their own specific weak point ammo type. Correct?
Pretty sure people test lvl 1 vulgus because no need to factor in resistance or weakpoint modifiers of targets. Also, gives people to compare to. When you shoot a level vulgus. People can replicate it easier than do x boss and have to line everything up on a boss that has different weakpoint modifiers. Most builds boil down to base damage. If can crit, build for crit Weakpoint damage And elemental damage So when which if these are better. It is better to do it on a lvl 1 vulgus that doesn't move to change the variables faster cuz you don't have to back out everytime you have to change a variable. The numbers will be wildly different yes, but doing like 35 million on a shot would still do a ton of damage on a colossi or boss. That being said tho. People do need to think more, lol. Doing max damage in one shot doesn't mean the whole fight because deaths, cooldown, sustain does play a role in dps.
The reason you would stop testing on only lv1 enemies is solely because the dmg dealt is completely different on colossus. What you’re arguing for is people just being content with the data they get from lv1 enemies and to just translate that as what you would be doing to colossus which is totally wrong. Doing more on lv1 than the next weapon doesn’t always mean you’re also doing more against colossus. Thats literally the entire point of that section of the video
@@t.hokage9748 it helps doing lvl 1 to have a baseline and you just gotta apply the resistances, weakpoint modifier, etc. You can do math of the resistances from the number of lvl 1 vulgus. I am not advocating for glass cannons tho. I'm just saying you can already do the math on the colossus from the level 1 vulgus. You just gotta know the resistance and all the other shit.
To be fair, I believe the order of truth don't have an damage reduction to firearm attack (at any level, 1 or 100) ((but they do have tons of elemental resistance, so careful there)). Therefore, if you still don't know how weapon damage works yet, and you're trying to figure it out, you can test against them and not worry about needing to also apply the damage reduction correctly. Helps when you somehow still know nothing or are verifying someone else's wrong maths I guess. Not an issue in your vids, of course!
Ye, was not so much to say you can't work out baselines using the lab, but if you only test there and you don't try to verify your results you're gonna end up with the wrong info and this was just two great examples of why between the phys bonus and wp mods
What is the 0.2187987 in regards to? & when we do firearm atk bucket, im confused - where does the .47 come from? I thought those two mods add together for 93% 😢 am i lost?
The dr value, we talked about that at the start. For your second question, the .47 I understand confusion on it was just an example value using a maxed mod and another mod that was unranked if I remember right, I forgot to specify.

@@VashCowaii Right now no one seems to know what's better for Enduring Legacy stat roll either Fire Atk or Crit Chance. I'm really excited to see what you come up with!
Maybe im a little slow but why is it bad to test in the lab then in game? I personally set the dummy to 100 and test numbers etc then see how it works in game. I'm just curious to know not saying its right or wrong.
As someone who has played 437 hours in TFD so far, I can conform that everything is right. But I have a Questions: If a part is destroyed, you can still hit the broken spot for weakspot damage. Which physical type is then used? The one from the body or the one from the part?
I didn't test it extensively but from the few I did check, it doesn't seem to change when broken. A bare shoulder still acts as a weakpoint with the same values, an exposed or destroyed core does the same, etc.
Just something completely random: I love how Remnant 2 and TFD content from you co exists, but oh boy the community certainly can't. I really fear if they just continue to nerf everything because of the cry babies.
no, her debuff doesnt scale with power modifiers , you can check that in her ability details , tho if you wanna use her like that make sure to have single shot wep and not rapid fire due to each stack is consumed on hit , so you want big single hit and not multi hits
These boss kill builds mean nothing to me if you can’t do it in group boss fights. Games I played in the past make me feel this why plus watching and doing it myself killing bosses solo with no full effort. And yes I mean killing them fast.
Math is over my head. And as such, this video is extremely boring to me. Yet I learned more from from skipping around 2 of your videos, then the entirety of all other videos I've ever watched for this game.
There are few flaws with your math. In weakpoint section you said all weapon has 0.5x hidden mutiplier , we all know that but that is missing from your final collosus damge caculation when htitting WP with after glow and Devotion. 2. if u trying to test the hidden mutiplier on the parts why add colossus damage to add even more variables cause are u sure 100% that how Colossus damage works? 3. Why you think it;s a hidden WP modifier and not something like extra resistant on the parts? Your tests is just ignoring other possibilities and just call it that cause you got the result you are looking for. Cause you got the result of your math =2 doesnt mean it's 1+1 , it can also be 4/2 or 1x2. Cause right now your conclusion and your test contradict the 0.5 Hidden WP modifier on all weapons
This is either bait or you truly have no clue how this works. I would advise watching the video and listening to what I say, because you've missed just about every key point of information. Once you've done so, you're more than welcome to try and prove me wrong, but I really doubt you will since these values line up across my testing on every boss using more than one weapon with varying physical damage types, to test it. I'm not cherry picking to make the math work lol.
@@VashCowaii the same way you tested crit resist? you just rushing out the video. @@VashCowaii ok so can you explain you claim all weapons have .5x WP mutiplier by default? then you claim part on colosus to have 0.25, 0.375 and 0.5x and no where in your formular has the 0.5 hidden ?
@@tunghipdaica They're the same bonus man, I didn't say all weapons have .5 by default, I said most people believe it is .5 but that isn't how it works and the bonus changes depending on where or what you are fighting, so the benefit wouldn't be specific to the weapon, it's specific to the enemy you hit, and where you hit them. You're picking apart a point for the sake of picking it apart without listening to what I say in the video, and confusing one thing to be two different things when they are the same thing. As I said before, please watch the video and listen to what I have to say. I thought I was crazy seeing the lab tests seeing how much damage they where doing on their nuke no sustain builds not only seeing the level 100 units have different resistance per faction . Thank for these videos because a lot of these builds are just coming out of peoples asses
Dude since I found your maths with proof videos I've basically just been following your guides. Would love for you to do a "fix your freyna" at some point in preparation for her ult coming out she's my main 👍
amazing work per usual!
absolutely love your vids man, keep it up! would love to see a ult gley build in the future? (: everyone is testing damage on lvl 1 vulgusssssss

I love the fact you make this game super geeky. 😂
Also I'm amazed you could link that without youtube deleting your comment, normally youtube auto yeets links in comments without even telling me
TY for doing all the damage testing.
I actually kinda wanted to make 'Overframe' but for TFD, as a side project, you know how those go XD Still not started, well, i have a folder in my computer with the name XD
All this reverse engineering will be very usefull for when i make the weapon damage calculator.
@@VashCowaii
Tbh I just wanted a tool that would calculate how good my next mod is, so I can decide when to start putting qol instead of damage.
XD
In this video I learned I don't care about the extra damage, and will just use my pew pew until the boss stops moving.
I was following the video until he said every type of dmg has its own buff modifier. Better just pew pew and not stress about all that.
yeah. i'm going to just do that as well. i can't aim well enough to hit a teleporting or vaulting over cover boss anyway.
Lol
😂😂
I love the way you talk, the amount of swearing kept my attention by being funny and made it easier to understand. I hate when games do all this fucked up hidden math + the amount of problems UI has in this game. I don't want to beat my head into the wall or go through college to understand how one aspect of the game works. I like experimenting builds, but not enough for that.
You da man. Bro I just realized the different type weaknesses on parts, thanks to you. You da real one, not like the other "math" guy (can't stand that dude)
Finally, someone else who knows how to test things in real situations
By any chance could you do a video dedicated to skill power modifier, iron defense, and characters with dot damage and if it’s worth building for it
yeah its worth building characters with DOT dmg builds i have freyna and ult valby maxed out and i am having a blast with them especialy now with ult valby very good for lving
Check his reactor and skill dmg video. Do the math and see for yourself whether it's worth adding modifier or skill power on a descendant
It's gonna be wholly contextual on the ability and everything else you're already using, Kilua has the right idea
Im glad someone said it.. so sick of everything being tested on a lvl 1 vulgus and then saying its OP.
Holy fuck that's cancer!😂😂 Bro I'm dying!! I suck at math so I have a hard time following sometimes, but I totally appreciate the work you put into these! And the knowledge I do get from your videos are helping me play and understand the game better. 👍
Ah yes thank you jerryrigeverything very informative 🧐
Warden has both damage reduction and shields in his kit, so everybody please prepare for new Alchemist/Warden build
Good stuff...kinda helpful for certain people...me i still do my own calculation and it helps me more then depending on others...thats how i finish most games faster then most youtuber ...nonetheless good effort....one thing i want to tell, i hope youtubers and people who think they are good at the game, for god sake stop calculating at the Lab ..not to mention they even do it on a level 1 monster....like do monster resistance just dissapear when you go to real location ? ...
this is science

Well done. 👍🏽 good video
A vid on optimized DoT damage would help a lot.
You're a legend.
I'll be honest and say that probably 95% of people shooting anything in this game think along the lines of "oooh pretty colors happen when I shoot that part, shoot that part more!"
To me you're invaluable bud.
Mind blown GG!
Off topic, but I hope Vash will make a few videos about the next Remnant 2 dlc when it releases.

@VashCowaii Ah, sweet. Any first impressions on the warden archetype skills and perks?
I LOVE OPTIMIZATION!!!!!!!!!!!
God tier info, appreciate the effort my guy. (....now how to convince stubborn d-bags on the fly without my brain leaking out of my ear....) Questions for later / food for thought. lmao my problem not yours 👍
more good stuff
two questions, would you put weak point sight on EL? most people use two fire enhancements, but now seeing weak point damage is good no matter the base multiplier I think the blue mod could easily replace the purple fire mod.
even though all mobs fold to the lightest of breezes it would be awesome if you could look into why they take such significantly different damage based on faction.
order of truth has 0 defense (i think) because naz devotion literally doesnt work in the lab on the level 100 enemy. based on meuis calculator they take the "correct" amount of damage form electric and non attribute sources. meanwhile legion of immortality and darkness have respectable defenses, but there are weird things like the legion of immortality taking more damage from chill than the legion of darkness. but based on the scan from the ecive, it should be the opposite.
I'll stop testing in the laboratory.
13:10 its not BossData, its BossStats :(
anyway this is the most comprehensive video about damage in TFD nice work
Ye I edited the pinned comment, my brain is on its last legs it seems.
You’re wicked smaaht( Boston accent )
Has anyone covered the mechanics of making bosses stumble/knocking them down by damaging them?
Correct?
Other TH-camrs: "aFtEr eXtEnSiVe tEsTiNg, tHiS iS tHe mEtA"
Me: >5 min in Laboratory huh?
Thank you for educating them Vash!
If can crit, build for crit
Weakpoint damage
And elemental damage
So when which if these are better.
The Man
To be fair, I believe the order of truth don't have an damage reduction to firearm attack (at any level, 1 or 100) ((but they do have tons of elemental resistance, so careful there)).
@@VashCowaii : thank you for taking the time to reply. 🤗 i realize that it is the dr value, but id thought you’d stated that it was 78 odd percent? granted, math isnt my strong suit, so i may just be completely oblivious 🫣. as for the second question, that makes a lot more sense! love your TFD content, btw - so much so, that ive unsubscribed from just about everyone else. 🤫
Sorry, can’t hear you over Massacre going BRRRT.
I beg you do one fixing valby, she can do boss focusing on dps, focus on dots and her mobbing the same, there’s so little builds for her yet you can build her for more crit damage or more range or less cd and I don’t know which one is the best
Are you going to do some actual gun dps builds? Enduring Legacy would be interesting with its fire resistance reduction to enemies
Not for a while at least, but eventually
@@VashCowaii Right now no one seems to know what's better for Enduring Legacy stat roll either Fire Atk or Crit Chance. I'm really excited to see what you come up with!
Maybe im a little slow but why is it bad to test in the lab then in game? I personally set the dummy to 100 and test numbers etc then see how it works in game. I'm just curious to know not saying its right or wrong.
8:33 Why does this remind me of people testing in the simulacrum in Warframe...
Cause it's extremely similar, and I can't wait until we get the same issues where there are bugs that only appear in the simulacrum/lab
Can you make build for Viessa, please! :D Thank you
so is element atk enchance not good to have on weapon ?
anyone who plays this game to some extent have surely noticed higher numbers on the harder to hit parts by now.
Probably, but nobody could explain why
@@VashCowaii th-cam.com/video/aLK9i-KZRmQ/w-d-xo.html
You underestimate the power of Unga bunga. Me hit hard, boss die. End of story
As someone who has played 437 hours in TFD so far, I can conform that everything is right.
But I have a Questions: If a part is destroyed, you can still hit the broken spot for weakspot damage. Which physical type is then used? The one from the body or the one from the part?
Why don't you test it and find out? If your number changes, that's a sure sign.
I didn't test it extensively but from the few I did check, it doesn't seem to change when broken. A bare shoulder still acts as a weakpoint with the same values, an exposed or destroyed core does the same, etc.
I gotta know, what song is that outro?
It's part of yujin's ambient OST
@@VashCowaii Wow that was fast. Thank you! I figured it was going to be something from Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
Just something completely random: I love how Remnant 2 and TFD content from you co exists, but oh boy the community certainly can't. I really fear if they just continue to nerf everything because of the cry babies.
had to play this video at 0.75x speed
Any Gley video on mind?
Not for a bit, no. Gley is a costly option due to the need to catalyze the weapon options involved as well
Can someone tell me do i need skill modififiers for hailey if im spamming her 1 only for a gun build?
no, her debuff doesnt scale with power modifiers , you can check that in her ability details , tho if you wanna use her like that make sure to have single shot wep and not rapid fire due to each stack is consumed on hit , so you want big single hit and not multi hits
These boss kill builds mean nothing to me if you can’t do it in group boss fights. Games I played in the past make me feel this why plus watching and doing it myself killing bosses solo with no full effort. And yes I mean killing them fast.
Hokay
LMAO
It’s unfortunate you choose to deliver such good info in the most toxic “well actually” way possible
He sounds like that kind of guy
Math is over my head. And as such, this video is extremely boring to me.
Yet I learned more from from skipping around 2 of your videos, then the entirety of all other videos I've ever watched for this game.
It’s getting sad when we have to take a college level math seminar to just play a game! Ffs just shoot the weak points and use team work!
we do not play to have fun sir, what is wrong with you
@@VashCowaiiif we're not optimizing the fun out of the game, are we even gaming?
Skill issue
Do people really not go and just shoot a boss when they’re trying to do damage testing for a boss. That’s just lazy.
Seems so
There are few flaws with your math.
Claiming it to be crit ceiling instead of a mutiply cause u didnt bother to check the crit chance of the weapon below so so call "crit ceiling"? and then you have to correct yourself after that? U can do math good for you. But shouldnt get so full of yourself that "everybody else is wrong" or " everybody is doing this , everybody is doing that".
If you legitimately have questions after watching the full video, and don't understand how this works and WANT to know how it does, I'm happy to help, but if you just want to be mad then ragebait elsewhere.
@@VashCowaii rage bait? it a legit questions i dont understand why you think it;s a troll post or rage bait? Cause someone said there might be a flaw in your testing or should test other possiblity then it;s a rage bait? ok i guess
Hey Vash, I put some of your calculations in to a calculator, and I've found that your numbers and mine don't line up, 3:01 you have an sum up, your value is 3812.923, but i get syntax error. So your maths is wrong.

Oh sure you already knew it lmao, once someone publishes the info suddenly everyone already knew it!
