So many people in this community are curious about crit resistance and no other content creator covers it well. You honestly would have gotten a ton of views if you turned crit resistance into a standalone video.
I think a lot of people were building from Warframe experience where if you built 100+% crit your crits could also crit so I can see why people would initially just assume this game would have some kind of weird crit rules. But it's nice to see the community digging into mechanics like this.
yeah but people need to understand that they are not playing warframe but TFD its like german people coming to the mc donalds in the netherlands and then gonna ask for the burger they have in germany but the netherlands doesnt have the same things as germany mc donalds and they still keep doing that asking that dumb question while they already know the answer to and the worse part of it al they always get a little mad because we dont have it and now these people are getting mad because vash is giving a complete breakdown on how it works and they cant handle it that they arent the one who discovered that
I went for the Damage to Colossus/Crit Damage reactor the internet told me was the "godroll" but after about three hours I said "Screw it" and just went with my double gold Colossus/Singular for the Piercing Light. An accidental win is still a win.
Literally woke up this morning to find out i had a Yellow, Chill/Singular, Yellow Dmg to Colossus/Crit and Crit Hit Rate, mounted with the Piercing Light that i got grinding missions to lvl up Hailey. I almost lost my shit looking at it, i couldn'tbelieve it. But now this vid slapped my Crit hit rate roll out of the water 😂😢. But hey I didn't had to suffer for it so I'll take it and not care for any other. The absurd amount of hours that i have sunk into this game taught me this: if you already have something that is more than good enough (but not the absolute peak beast), and you didn't have to suffer for it, then keep it and continue with your other stuff because if you lose days of potential grinding looking for a perfect roll you will end up losing more in the end.

it does not allign with my data. I also made a comment about it. but dont have to trust me you can go to devourer with something close to 70% you should end up with 70% with his theory for me this is not true.
@@thesin8772 I don't take anybody's word as complete fact. I'm going to test crit chance myself when I get some time. Specifically, I want to play around with Skill Crit Rate on different bosses and over/under capping. Thanks for the input.
@Sin the only gripe I'd give is you tested with much, much less data when you determined they misaligned. And without confirming how exactly you handled the tests, it's hard to say if there is weight to them. I'm not saying I have to be right, but I don't believe I'm wrong.

Rolling my Afterglow Sword to get 12% Rounds per magazine gave me PTSD. But After ~500 rolls i got it after I played your video (a couple seconds ago). Was so happy I had to post it here, thanks lucky cow.
You don’t need this shit. Use Compulsive Magazine instead of Concentrate Support Ammo and Slayer set and any blue “Rounds per Mag” is enough for 8 shots. Slightly decreased weakpoint damage doesn’t matter because most of the damage comes from skill, not weapon.

Hey just came across this video and I have been thinking about swapping to Perforator. Thank you for the builds around it as well! With Perforator do you still want the 12% magazine size attribute? Im assuming dmg to colossus, crit dmg%, and firearm atk%, and i am also assuming to get a perforator colossus/singular boost reactor? Thank you!
Your numbers allign with my calculations only that i use have aiming on the perforator -accuracy doesnt seem to apply on zenith also this is basically calculating best case boss scenario for perforator running it agains frost walker will significantly decrease its value but still on top But my tests with 68% crit rate at devourer ended up in 50% crit hits after 300 shots. While at 100% I ended up at roughly 72%. indicates 28% crit resist 68%*(1-0.28)= 49% I am pretty sure crit resistance forumla is: Crit% * (1- (Crit resist% * (1-Crit resist reduction%*analysis master*)) ) Edit: did rerun the test with 68.5% crit ended up with 52.7% effective crit against devourer after 547 shots. so roughly ~23% less
Significant flaw in your testing: the previous guy did 12,000 shots for his data. Vash did 1000 shots in his. The more shots taken, the more accurate the data. Redo your test with 1000-2000 shots and see if you get the same results
@@chriselliott403 pretty sure you will get closer to 28% resistance not to a 72% cap combined i am at 847 shot with 24.3% less effective crit than the gun should have (including rolls and mods etc) while below the cap of 72 he suggests for my data the next 170 shots in the 68% crit test (300 shots were fired) would have to crit and the next 275 shots in the 68.5 crit test would have to crit (547 shots were fired) to bring crit resist to 0 when you are below 72% crit chance
Replied to your other comment but more or less I'll say the same thing, kinda like chris mentioned you're running with a lot less data, without knowing how you're performing the tests it is hard to gauge how accurate they are. That said there are still more tests to be done by anyone not just me, but given the thousands of shots I did between diff scenarios, the conclusions I talk about in the video are the only reasonable conclusions to be drawn.
good video. i have one question regarding the crit ceiling with other characters. If the ceiling is right around 75%, how does that factor into other weapons and characters who have less than 75% crit rate? Lepic and Viessa usually cap out around 50% with all 4 crit mods, but they aren't getting a true 50% crit rate against void intercept bosses right? I think this weekend I'm going to use Viessa's one ability 1000 times vs devour and see what happens
this is a dumb question and it probably doesn't matter that much, but is there a reason you use 2 cold mods on your sniper? wouldn't it be better to use electric for the defense shred? in my experience that's at least how it feels, shredding feels more important than elemental advantage but I could be very wrong and just having unlucky tests with no crits or something I guess what I'm really trying to ask is what are your thoughts on electric providing defense shred, on every boss including pyro?
I love how you absolutely back up your choices with hard numbers. Also I just checked and Payout is a Xantic (X) and not Rutile (R) Ultimate Valby build when :>
While the Piercing Light is still the best (Afterglow is a close second, but loses out by 8-16% depending on how well it is built), there is another option. That is using an Impact Weapon. This is because for some reason, the Impact exclusive mod, Payout, which on hitting a weakpoint, grants you 3s of infinite ammo, works with Hailey's Zenith. This gives just enough time for 3 extra shots. Meaning you can turn those 8 shots, into 11. Of course this means the gun side of her Zenith shots will be weaker than the Piercing Light ones, but you do get 3 more shots, which benefits the skill side of the ability. This may be an amazing option to go for depending on how the new Ultimate Scout Rifle will be. In the meantime, the Perforator is the best option, as it has the highest stats for DPS for Hailey. The Nazeistra's Devotion, while my favorite of the Hand Cannons, isn't needed as the main stats for it are lower than the Perforators except its stupidly high Crit Rate, which you don't need on Hailey. The amazing ability to shred DEF on the Nazeistra's is also not available for use as like with any other unique weapon, they don't inherit the unique abilities of Ultimate Weapons. So her Zenith will not benefit from any Ultimate Abilities.....
Also those math numbers are from Ryechews Games (too lazy to double check how you and he did their numbers). Further, you did mention Payout and Perforator.... yay, my post is redundant. (what I get for typing things while watching the video and seeing things all the way through, ah well, I don't like deleting posts I made, even if I make an ass of myself....)
@@Demondayo yes, or do not bother with that substat and the second mag mod and go with 6 shots instead of 8. To get that 12%, roll for just that substat without locking any. As it will take many tries. Took me almost 200 rolls to get 12% on my Piercing Light.... Then you can start locking them and get your other wanted substats.

I might be very late to this video. But i wanted to ask 1 thing. Since the weapon crit hit rate and weapon crit hit damage isn't affecting the Zenith/Supercooled Kuiper rounds, would it be more optimal to use Charge Amplification instead of Concentration Priority. You've mentioned that only the rounds per magazine from the weapon affect the skill(outside of weapon damage and special mods). But of course it is just assuming that Perforator or Piercing Light is just used for Zenith/Supercooled Kuiper rounds and not for anything else. Anyways, great video.
How about alternative, "budget" build for Piercing Light (or Afterglow Sword)? Remove "Refrigerate Gunbarrel" module. Add "Focus Fire" (weak point dmg +20%) Change "Concentrate Support Ammo" (+30% ammo) for "Magazine Compulsive" 14 energy (34% ammo and -8.8% weak point dmg) Now, we need only 8% Rounds per Magazine on "Piercing Light", because has +49% on "Expand Weapon Charge", 34% on "Magazine Compulsive" and 9% on "Slayer" set. This build has a little bit lower damage (but we added 11.2% weak point dmg, 20% - 8.8%), but not need to roll 12% "Rounds per Magazine" to obtain 8 shots of "Zenith"
Might sound like an odd question, but why use Chill Specialist over Chill Master? I thought the spread of modifiers from Chill Master mixed with Spear and Shield were higher than with Chill Specialist. If I’m wrong, I would love to be corrected.

hes saying for the overall dmg you put out that the base gun dmg is practically moot for your overall DMG/DPS.... hence why piercing light and afterglow are so close in damage and yet perforater is the king
Now that Frost Watcher is out, & Perforator has been changed, is it better to mod it the same way you did Perforator for this build? Or does the changes to Perforator not matter, or Frost Watcher just not useful enough?

Now after the update, it is worth changing the Frontlines Mod for the Chill Integration Mod? Edit: On my quick test, it doesn't seem so. I do lose damage exchanging them.
Great vids with detail explanation. But one problem with perforator is that at current stage it's basically impossible to even get a decent reactor for it on Hailey, with afterglow or piercing light at least we had last week. For perforator there won't be one this week or even next week. Not sure about the week after that, but if you wait until then to build it, might just wait until the new weapon or the red mod to come out.
Awesome and informative video. Thank you. I have a questions that I would love some clarity on. On your perforator load out you have damage mods that require investment. Mueii states that you only need 3 mods. No investment. Adding damage mods barely changes the damage on the ult. Is this true or does it not really matter?
Forgot to explain that. It adds dmg to the gun side, and any amount of increased dmg, even elemental, is going to lead to a higher dmg spread than slotting in a bunch of miscellaneous mods that boost your crit dmg or weakspot dmg by 2-4.5%

Oh holy, lmfao, probably bc I keep making videos at 3am. You would want them, probably in place of focus fire and refrig. In the end though perf isn't gonna be doing much on its gun side, the extra skill dmg is the main appeal, boosting the atk of 1 dmg is just gonna bring it up to 3 dmg.
Since chill singular impact reactors started dropping this week, within the first five I got a double gold Colossus + Singular Boost with Blue Beetle mounting (when it took me over 2000 reactors to find a double purple Colossus + Crit Damage roll on PL), at 12% magazine substat still gives 11 whole shots. Every cloud has a silver lining I guess 🤷♂
One question, does elemental damage have any influence? For example, if I added electrical damage against a colossus that is weak to electrical, would the damage be greater than if I used cold elemental damage?

As for now , a spoiler - Gluttony indeed has 80% crit sealing for ABILITIES 50% for firearms. We tested it Also , Vash , may I still tell a word about x3 crit mods? You still need those for all bosses but Gluttony for a very simple reason - the damage increase , even with crit sealing, is one of the best in slot you get anyway. So.... my first Hailey template I was running on x3 crits , but after calculating and testing you need those 4. Also you dont need to max out 4th one , its fine being half made. And Gluttony....is Gluttony - just kick the f out ability mods and play as a gunner.

Ceiling is the upper limit, and sealing is the action or process of fastening or closing something securely.

I get that in general those crit mods would be best in slot for her and I agree, but if the crit ceiling is in fact a ceiling, then any more crit beyond that ceiling would be excess which is the point I wanted to make. @@VashCowaii I will test that tonight, about ceiling. I know exe is 70% crit on 100%. If we apply a gun 70% crit and still get 70% crit, it's a ceiling. If not it's a multiplier 0.7 to your crit. And if it's the case, then the x4 crit is needed.

This % value is a multiplier to your real crit hit chance. So lets say , I have a test on Exe , 30% crit res based on 800+ shots with 100% Afterglow + Enzo Q for overcap If you now go with a rifle , lets say 70% crit chance , your endgame crit chance will be 70%* (100%-30%) = 49% Thats how this story works. I may record one next week with 1000 shots , just takes time. But ...yeah , its how it works

Yes. That's exactly what you'd want. The only variation with the weapon choices are the weapons themselves.

That said there are still more tests to be done by anyone not just me, but given the thousands of shots I did between diff scenarios, the conclusions I talk about in the video are the only reasonable conclusions to be drawn.

good video. i have one question regarding the crit ceiling with other characters. If the ceiling is right around 75%, how does that factor into other weapons and characters who have less than 75% crit rate? Lepic and Viessa usually cap out around 50% with all 4 crit mods, but they aren't getting a true 50% crit rate against void intercept bosses right?
I think this weekend I'm going to use Viessa's one ability 1000 times vs devour and see what happens

this is a dumb question and it probably doesn't matter that much, but is there a reason you use 2 cold mods on your sniper? wouldn't it be better to use electric for the defense shred? in my experience that's at least how it feels, shredding feels more important than elemental advantage but I could be very wrong and just having unlucky tests with no crits or something
I guess what I'm really trying to ask is what are your thoughts on electric providing defense shred, on every boss including pyro?

While the Piercing Light is still the best (Afterglow is a close second, but loses out by 8-16% depending on how well it is built),
there is another option.
That is using an Impact Weapon.
This is because for some reason, the Impact exclusive mod, Payout, which on hitting a weakpoint, grants you 3s of infinite ammo, works with Hailey's Zenith.
This gives just enough time for 3 extra shots. Meaning you can turn those 8 shots, into 11.
Of course this means the gun side of her Zenith shots will be weaker than the Piercing Light ones, but you do get 3 more shots, which benefits the skill side of the ability.
This may be an amazing option to go for depending on how the new Ultimate Scout Rifle will be.
In the meantime, the Perforator is the best option, as it has the highest stats for DPS for Hailey.
The Nazeistra's Devotion, while my favorite of the Hand Cannons, isn't needed as the main stats for it are lower than the Perforators except its stupidly high Crit Rate, which you don't need on Hailey. The amazing ability to shred DEF on the Nazeistra's is also not available for use as like with any other unique weapon, they don't inherit the unique abilities of Ultimate Weapons. So her Zenith will not benefit from any Ultimate Abilities.....
Also those math numbers are from Ryechews Games (too lazy to double check how you and he did their numbers).
Further, you did mention Payout and Perforator.... yay, my post is redundant.

Do you need +12% magazine on Perforator as well?
@@Demondayo yes, or do not bother with that substat and the second mag mod and go with 6 shots instead of 8.
To get that 12%, roll for just that substat without locking any. As it will take many tries. Took me almost 200 rolls to get 12% on my Piercing Light.... Then you can start locking them and get your other wanted substats.

I might be very late to this video. But i wanted to ask 1 thing. Since the weapon crit hit rate and weapon crit hit damage isn't affecting the Zenith/Supercooled Kuiper rounds, would it be more optimal to use Charge Amplification instead of Concentration Priority. You've mentioned that only the rounds per magazine from the weapon affect the skill(outside of weapon damage and special mods). But of course it is just assuming that Perforator or Piercing Light is just used for Zenith/Supercooled Kuiper rounds and not for anything else. Anyways, great video.
How about alternative, "budget" build for Piercing Light (or Afterglow Sword)?
Remove "Refrigerate Gunbarrel" module.
Add "Focus Fire" (weak point dmg +20%)
Change "Concentrate Support Ammo" (+30% ammo) for "Magazine Compulsive" 14 energy (34% ammo and -8.8% weak point dmg)
Now, we need only 8% Rounds per Magazine on "Piercing Light", because has +49% on "Expand Weapon Charge", 34% on "Magazine Compulsive" and 9% on "Slayer" set.
This build has a little bit lower damage (but we added 11.2% weak point dmg, 20% - 8.8%), but not need to roll 12% "Rounds per Magazine" to obtain 8 shots of "Zenith"
Might sound like an odd question, but why use Chill Specialist over Chill Master? I thought the spread of modifiers from Chill Master mixed with Spear and Shield were higher than with Chill Specialist. If I’m wrong, I would love to be corrected.

hes saying for the overall dmg you put out that the base gun dmg is practically moot for your overall DMG/DPS.... hence why piercing light and afterglow are so close in damage and yet perforater is the king
Now that Frost Watcher is out, & Perforator has been changed, is it better to mod it the same way you did Perforator for this build? Or does the changes to Perforator not matter, or Frost Watcher just not useful enough?

Great vids with detail explanation. But one problem with perforator is that at current stage it's basically impossible to even get a decent reactor for it on Hailey, with afterglow or piercing light at least we had last week. For perforator there won't be one this week or even next week. Not sure about the week after that, but if you wait until then to build it, might just wait until the new weapon or the red mod to come out.
Check again, there will be a perforator one up next week in Agna Desert.

Awesome and informative video. Thank you. I have a questions that I would love some clarity on. On your perforator load out you have damage mods that require investment. Mueii states that you only need 3 mods. No investment. Adding damage mods barely changes the damage on the ult. Is this true or does it not really matter?

Because you can see that the chill dmg still works on the gun, as well as included in the cryo damage
Forgot to explain that. It adds dmg to the gun side, and any amount of increased dmg, even elemental, is going to lead to a higher dmg spread than slotting in a bunch of miscellaneous mods that boost your crit dmg or weakspot dmg by 2-4.5%

There is a mod in Speical Ammo that reduces Crit Resist by 25% on hit, Analysis Master. Might give you that 100% crit rate

Why is it that you don’t use Rifling Reinforcement and Action and Reaction mods on the Perforator build, but you do on the sniper builds?
Oh holy, lmfao, probably bc I keep making videos at 3am. You would want them, probably in place of focus fire and refrig. In the end though perf isn't gonna be doing much on its gun side, the extra skill dmg is the main appeal, boosting the atk of 1 dmg is just gonna bring it up to 3 dmg.

Since chill singular impact reactors started dropping this week, within the first five I got a double gold Colossus + Singular Boost with Blue Beetle mounting (when it took me over 2000 reactors to find a double purple Colossus + Crit Damage roll on PL), at 12% magazine substat still gives 11 whole shots. Every cloud has a silver lining I guess 🤷♂
One question, does elemental damage have any influence? For example, if I added electrical damage against a colossus that is weak to electrical, would the damage be greater than if I used cold elemental damage?
Just wondering if elemental damage applies to your Zenith? And if so, does changing it depending on the boss's weakness matter?

I think exactly the same. But I've only tested Pyro and Devourer so far... With Better Insight they are all crits...

I did testing with over cap , over 100% crit , with 100% + Enzo Q
Result is 100% is 100% , there is no overcap , even with mathematically 160% crit , game still consider it being 100%

As for now , a spoiler - Gluttony indeed has
80% crit sealing for ABILITIES
50% for firearms.

You still need those for all bosses but Gluttony for a very simple reason - the damage increase , even with crit sealing, is one of the best in slot you get anyway.
So.... my first Hailey template I was running on x3 crits , but after calculating and testing you need those 4.
Also you dont need to max out 4th one , its fine being half made.
And Gluttony....is Gluttony - just kick the f out ability mods and play as a gunner.

Ceiling is the upper limit, and sealing is the action or process of fastening or closing something securely.

@@VashCowaii I will test that tonight, about ceiling. I know exe is 70% crit on 100%. If we apply a gun 70% crit and still get 70% crit, it's a ceiling. If not it's a multiplier 0.7 to your crit.
And if it's the case, then the x4 crit is needed.

So....Here is a story about crit rest
When you run 100% crit chance gun , you can findout a % of crit resistance on Colosses.
This % value is a multiplier to your real crit hit chance.
So lets say , I have a test on Exe , 30% crit res based on 800+ shots with 100% Afterglow + Enzo Q for overcap
If you now go with a rifle , lets say 70% crit chance , your endgame crit chance will be 70%* (100%-30%) = 49%
Thats how this story works.
I may record one next week with 1000 shots , just takes time. But ...yeah , its how it works
