Indonesian President has begun working from a new capital city. Why? Because Indonesia plans to change its capital from Jakarta to Nusantara. Even though Nusantara is only 15% developed since the 2019 announcement, President Joko Widodo remains undeterred despite low investment, missed deadlines, and controversies. 20% in 4 years in building a city from scratch is Not slow. it's very fast.
Considering they also just completed the airport, seaport, bridges in there.
I don't think that is how you see.. it's about deadline and money invested.
If you miss deadline then thing can go haywire.. the investment doesn't work like that it is always related to deadline. If your investment doesn't come timely manner then same investment can trap you.
That is how many countries ambitious project stops..
Hope Indonesia make this project successfully but remember Indonesia is not the first country doing it. In past many did it and failed
So when someone says country is missing deadline and money is not sanctioned timely manner then it's concern.
Track record of Indonesia is not bad so hope they make it.

In some countries, mega projects development were managed by government-owned companies like oil company. After the project finished, government will continue paying annual concession until finally its belong to government

Nusantara the New capital, the project was set up for long term 20-30 years project until finish. This is just the begining..

Jakarta sinking is due to the 10 million people living there get the fresh water from the ground. It is in any way will sink any region, as Jakarta has 10 million people, despite it has many rivers going through it to fill the ground water. So the solution is pipe water system and currently new Dam is built to solve the problem. There are two dams to solve Jakarta problem as the main source of its pipe water system which is Jatiluhur dan Karian Dam
The pipe water system project has been started with the backing of 15 banks.
I would say this to this Indian media. Do more research before talking in TV with little knowledge about the actual situation if Indian is really smart as they think

You can have separate capital, financial and administrative capital. Like Nederland which has Amsterdam (finance/culture capital) & Den Haag or The Hague as Administrative capital. Malaysia too followed this because Kuala Lumpur was getting congested so it created Administrative capital in Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur retained as country's capital & financial centre. Indonesia needs new and central located Administrative capital which is in Kalimantan . Jakarta can remain as financial hub. Good news for Indonesians

Every country must have a far-sighted view. I think President Jokowi is a very visionary person. so that every step he chooses may be a dream that is too high for some people. That's because some of these people are not yet at Jokowi's level of thinking. and as he said, the "NUSANTARA" city project has no deadline because a city will continue to be in the process of becoming bigger and better. and the progress of the construction of the new capital city has been very significant. You can already see many infrastructure buildings that are almost 30% - 50% complete. even though the project has not been started for long.

1. the contruction are splitted in 5 stages, where curently still on the 1st stage
2. the progress on the 1st stage is already over 80%
3. the first stage focused on the basic need for a city to working properly, including building the government buildings and houses for government officials
4. the 2nd phase will start not long after the 1st phase completed
5. the city are not build in no where, since the city are located between two cities, samarinda and balikpapan, and many other cities
6. the capital city are not construction on top of a jungle or even virgin forest. the city are constructed in the middle of eucalyptus plantation. so no virgin forest or even jungle sacrificed to build this city
7. in term of military. the new capital city are strategicaly deffended by it's topography, since the city are surrounded by swampland, plantation and forest. the soil also too soft for enemy heavy military arsenal to go through and will only stuck
8. nusantara is planned to become indonesia's silicon valley where in the future will become house for high tech company such as software companies, semiconductor companies, medical companies,electronic appliances companies and other high tech companies. the city will also become house for scientists, researchers and academician of indonesia, since the government will also build many labs in the city. the surrounding forest and swampland will also be used to build another labs and testing grounds

The 33B dollar is the budget for 2022-2045. So, if you see the progress as of 2024, it reaches its targets though being late for few months.
The very concern is that whether the next and future presidents will allocate the budget in a substantial amount for this project or not.

Maybe check your facts before doing a news about us Indonesia. The Presidential Palace has finished. Therefore Jokowi, after officiated the Bridge connecting Balikpapan Toll to IKN, he uses the just finished Palace to try it.
