I wish you recover quickly 🙏 I used castor oil to put in my nose cavities to help me with taste and smell, I used rosemary steaming nose inhalation and orange essential oil mixed with coconut oil around the nose. I started gaining back my taste buds back drinking coffee in an empty stomach. Slowly everyday little by little I was gaining my sense of smell and taste! Hope it helps! Thank you for your recipe!
There are ways to expedite the process to get the taste back. With a combination of essential oils smells. Alternate smelling for 20 sec each: rose, lemon, clove and eucalyptus. 3 or 4 times a day. It really worked for me
Takes a while to get taste and smell back. Peppermint and rosemary essential oil (make sure to dilute with coconut oil or castor oil) in nostrils and diffused can speed things up. Took several months for my taste to get back to normal.
I will do for a Holiday only allow sweeter and keto then. I am flying Halloween weekend soooo hope I am not infected just broke my femur and had a hip replacement the last Sunday in July . Carnivore 6 years . Eat the cheese people!
I hope you get well soon. Thank you for your videos. I just ordered two bags one chocolate and one peanut butter. I have been on carnivore for almost 6 weeks now. I miss nut butters a lot so i am excited to try these both. ❤
These look amazing! I haven't been baking with almond or coconut flour these days because baking with Equip protein powder works so well and really fills a need. Maria -- I am so sorry you aren't feeling well. I used strong smelling essential oils like peppermint, Eucalyptus, and Lavender to help regain my sense of smell and taste after I had covid. I kept the bottles near my computer and sniffed them regularly then worked on making my brain remember the scents. It really helped so much. I have heard using a neti pot with saline and some nasal sprays help as well.
I can't wait to try this recipe!! thank you so much for sharing. On another note; sorry to hear about you catching covid. I wish you a full & speedy recovery. I hear that oil of oregano is supposed be good in helping you get your taste buds back.
Super excited to try these. I can't wait for the Salted Caramel version to arrive so I can make Chocolate Caramel Cups. When I make mine, I use Equip PB, Powdered Sweetener & Vanilla. I can't wait to try these using the butter/coconut oil & see how it is different. The Chocolate, is usually just Unsweetened Chocolate & Sweetener. I'm intrigued to use the Equip Chocolate. I don't know why I didn't think of that.
I had lost my sense of smell for a bit when I had the delta varient back in August 2021. Did have a lot of trouble tasting on the chocolate peanut butter keto chow then and still have trouble tasting it. I have been using the chocolate equip for shakes mixed with chocolate collagen and heavy whipping cream. Going to be trying the strawberry and maybe eventually the peanut butter. Hoping I could taste it better.
Hi Maria, so sorry you’re sick 😢 I’ve had COVID twice 1st time cold symptoms. Wicked sore throat! 2nd time I lost smell and taste. That’s how I knew I had it. I used freshly cut citrus( lemons and limes) just smelling them several times a day every day. Also big whiffs of natural peanut butter if you have it. Rest up and feel better. Thanks for the video! ❤
The same thing happened to me, I did not get Covid for the last 3 years until my husband and I went on a cruise to Alaska and on the last day of the cruise we both came down with it. We didn't know until we got off the ship and went to our hotel. Covid made us very tired and it was hard making our journey home from Vancouver to Arkansas, but we made. I lost my taste and smell for awhile, my husband did not, but once Covid passed I got my sense of taste and smell back. It will go away on it's own.
Sorry you are not feeling good! These look so good, thanks for sharing! I cannot give any tips on how to get your taste back, I have avoided Covid all this time (knocking on wood as I type this)! I tell about my journey on Keto on my channel-has been since 9/2020, lost 100 + lbs, off meds, feel great at 65!
The nutritionist I saw said to use zinc to help recover taste, and also to practice with orange zest...it's like retraining your brain to smell and taste. It took me 2 months at least.
Prayers going up for you Maria, I hope you get well soon and get your taster and smeller back to working as it were. I also wish to congratulate you late for the 100K you had achieved here on your channel. Been a huge fan watching but unable most times to comment on all your videos but I always leave a Like.👍 I wondered about you being in Hawaii and the fires and such and was so happy to see when you posted a video because I worried about you all there. 🙏🙏❤💯
Love all your recipes! Bought the Protein Sparing cookbook download and am amazed at what you’ve created. Really enjoyed the beef stroganoff! Didn’t think you could make so much from egg whites. Thanks for these wonderful recipes & videos, I really look forward to them and you! You’re doing great, especially for being sick! Hopefully you’ll be feeling better soon. When I lost my taste, I ate things that had a strong flavor ( like dishes with tomato sauce, also anything with cinnamon) to re-activate my taste buds. Also putting a few drop of Lugol’s iodine into salt & inhaling into one nostril at a time, might help the mucus membranes of your sinuses . It takes a little time, but it’ll come back, don’t worry. ❤️
I lost my smell and taste completely for 4 months when I got COVID in 2021. Then it returned, but it was distorted. All Keto-friendly foods smelled and tasted rancid. Over time, the intensity of it reduced. My tastebuds have returned to normal and smell is slowly returning to normal. It’s frustrating and even depressing sometimes, I know. It’s called Parosmia and doctors can’t really do anything to treat it. I tried online remedies like sniffing essential oils and even chewing Nicotine gum. But the best remedy (for me anyway) seems to be just good, old fashioned time. Hang in there, Maria! ❤️
Hope you're feeling better and gotten your taste back but if not try some zinc. It will help you get your taste buds back as well as speed up your recovery.
So sorry your lovely self is not feeling 100% …had covid 3 weeks ago and it kicked my butt. Never been so sick . This variant is not fun .lots of LMNT…love from sunny Florida ☀️❤️
I heard chew nicotine gum or a nicotine patch has causes taste to come back. I don't personally know but read some research that was done abroad somewhere.
The recipe used in the video is different than the printable version, at least for the chocolate side. The printed recipe calls for 1 ounce of unsweetened chocolate and 5 tablespoons butter. In the video she said 2 ounces chocolate and 4 tablespoons butter. Has anyone made this and which ratio did you use?
I lost my taste and smell with Covid. I also had long Covid. I cannot eat anything mint anymore. Every mint flavor tastes and smells like chemicals. I was not a big sweets fan before and now I cannot stop craving sweets. It took me about 3 months to start getting my tastebuds back and about 6 months to get it all the way back. I will sporadically smell weird smells that nobody else can smell and it’s been 2 years since I had Covid. Praying for comfort and quick healing. 🙏
Feel better Maria! Quick question, I still have the chocolate further foods collagen powder (through your previous recommendations), can i use this instead of the chocolate beef prime protein? Would like to finish them before purchasing the prime proteins. Thank you!
I just tried to make this and it was a total failure. I don’t know if that’s because I use a different allulose brand or what but it never combined with the butter. It became a rock solid, sticky mass laying in a bowl of melted butter. 😢 I’m so sad
@@MariaEmmerich yeah definitely a bummer. They’re more like toffee consistency so I’m still eating them but they’re definitely not like a peanut butter cup. Do you think the allulose is to blame? Maybe I’ll try making them without that in there.
@@MariaEmmerich I found out what the problem was. I tried it again without allulose and it did the exact same thing. Thankfully, I did just a tiny amount instead of a full batch. It turns out that you cannot use hot melted butter. It will not mix with the protein powder that way. When I used just soft butter, it worked fine. I also found I didn’t need any allulose as the protein powder was sweet enough for me.
Sorry you don't feel well! Try doing some grounding with as much skin on earth or water as possible! Helps heal the mitochondria and should help with the taste and smell issues.
I lost my sense of smell and taste... 😢 It's been a year and I'm not convinced it's fully back. I can taste things now, just doesn't seem to be fully yet.
I followed the written recipe, but found the peanutbutter base was kind of dry and stuck to my teeth. Is that normal, or did I maybe do something wrong?
When I had covid, I also lost my sense of taste and smell. I could not believe how depressing it was! I was also scared I wouldn't get it back if it turned into long COVID, so that's always a fear in the back of your mind.
Does everybody lose their sense of taste with covid? I've been sick several times over the last three years, but I never lost my sense of taste. Maybe none of my illnesses were covid related. I never got tested. Thanks for the recipe. Hope you get over it quickly. Good thing you live in a sunny place. Sun in moderation is healthful. Germs and viruses do not like bright sunlight.
I wish you recover quickly 🙏 I used castor oil to put in my nose cavities to help me with taste and smell, I used rosemary steaming nose inhalation and orange essential oil mixed with coconut oil around the nose. You are so welcome! I am so glad they like them 🥰

So nice to see Micah in a video too! He’s so grown up!
Rest. Hydrate. I think it passes in a few days. For most people. Love your videos with the kids.

What an amazing recipe and treat
It really is! Hope you enjoy 🥰
Hi Maria, Thank you for the video. Yes we lost our taste for a while. We used Zicam sticks and vitamin C. I hope you feel better soon 🙏
Thank you so much! ❤️
that monkfruit allulose blend....never saw that mix before.... I blend my sweeteners as well.
It really gives a nice balance of flavor and sweetness :)

Am I correct Maria in thinking beef protein powder is more like flour & can't be whipped like egg white protein powder?
They work completely differently 🙏
Loss of taste is a Zinc deficiency
I have heard several people having success using alpha-lipoic acid to help with taste and smell after covid.
I just checked the site and Equip ships to New Zealand. 😭😭😭 Tears of Joy Right now.
Awesomeness!!
you need zinc to get your taste back
Could these be baked and made into like a brownie swirl?
I haven't tried but sure sounds yummy!
