The first time I got a haircut by a Pakistan barber I just about passed out from how refreshing it was. Apparently you store alot of stress in your skull area and it really helps you relax and refresh, some ancient apothacary kinda stuff. Too bad barbers everywhere arent taught these skills.
Oh o.k. thank-you for explaining that, I thought the guy was making gay advances towards him. This is not customary in many country's. Massage like that would cost alot more than just a haircut and shave.

Hey Kurt, heres some things to help you out: 2:27 - The riksha driver was telling you that he picked up a previous passenger/guest who was from Iran but spoke like you (spoke in English) 6:30 - "ye topi leh lo" - He was asking you to take your hat back 8:10 - "mehmaan" - This means 'guest' in Urdu. You will find that many people will offer to pay for your food & also restaurants may not take any money from you. This is because in Pakistan it is in our pride to not take any money from guests. 14:55 - Its ice My piece of advice if your visiting Karachi is to avoid drinking any tap water as the water is extremely salty. Instead stick to bottled water only. Also, we know you like to visit very dangerous parts of city and the most dangerous in Karachi is an area called Lyari. My advice is to not go there. Stay safe & enjoy our Pakistani food! P.s. try chicken karahi!
rule number one of kurt’s vids: if you comment a place from your country and tell him not to go, his next video is him hanging out in said place drinking beer with the locals edit: although probably not beer in Pakistan

Hey Kurt - doubt that you will see this with all of these comments. During the shave in the barber shop, the barber is using an 'alum block' on your skin (you asked if it was ice). It makes the skin feel refreshed, and can help kill germs and stop any minor bleeding.
Are you aware if this style of massage is common at barber shops throughout Pakistan, or is this something unique? Is it much different than what I experience in the US
We respect our guests because in Islam our prophet said if guests are coming in your house this is the blessing of Allah almighty for you and your family
The "ice" was an Alum stone. Basically a mineral used in traditional shaving as an antiseptic and constringent. It's main purpose is to close skin pores. As a consequence it can close of bleeding cuts too.

Get a passport and go. It's not too late Eric. All sorts of places are pretty cheap, especially Latin America, if you avoid the tourist spots. Save just a little a week, put a picture on your wall to remind of why you're not going out partying tonight, to save money. It's doable. Good luck, but really, it's doable, just gotta want it. It's worth it.

2:27 - The riksha driver was telling you that he picked up a previous passenger/guest who was from Iran but spoke like you (spoke in English)
6:30 - "ye topi leh lo" - He was asking you to take your hat back
8:10 - "mehmaan" - This means 'guest' in Urdu. You will find that many people will offer to pay for your food & also restaurants may not take any money from you. This is because in Pakistan it is in our pride to not take any money from guests.
