The foundation of Buddhism is the Law of Cause and Effect. Without knowing this deeply, one cannot understand Buddhism or move forward on the path. The Law of Cause and Effect is made up of these three essential guidelines:
    Good deeds bring good results.
    Bad deeds bring bad results.
Your own deeds bring your own results.
Every effect has a cause and a condition.
A cause and a condition combine to make an effect.
All effects have a cause. All effects have a condition. There are no exceptions.

Saima Pawne , greeting my friend. If you can list down some scientific facts in Quran we can discuss further. Thus far, many scientific facts revealed in Quran are already known to other civilizations especially along Silk Road. Here are some of them: Anaxagoras of Greek already know moon does not have own light 1000 years before Quran. Aristotle has written down 4 stages of human fetus formation 834 years before Quran. Pythagoras already revealed earth is spherical 1100 years before Quran. Roman has record of brain surgery and knowledge of how brain works 1200 years before Quran. Chinese famous doctor Hua Tuo had performed brain surgery on Cao Cao 300 years before Quran. Ancient Indian, China and Persian have knowledge iron from meteor about 1800 years before Quran. Archeology evidence Chinese know about mysterious chi and chi channel 3000 years before Quran creating acupuncture till todate modern medical is still studying. The Chinese accurately know where is sperm produced and stored as per confirmed by modern science today at least 2000 years ago. These are some historical facts of human knowledge before Quran was sent down ....just sharing. There are of course many wrong scientific facts by all religions which proven wrong by modern science.

Saima Pawne, there are many resources on what I have listed my friend and please don't accuse me a bluff just because I shared these information. as I am just sharing all these information that I know, not meant to bluff or win an argument. We can always discuss without emotion or name calling, otherwise it's pointless. Chinese know about sperm production is long recorded within Taoist books. Taoist priests have been practicing cultivating 'Dan' changing sperm semen into chi thousands of year ago and this chi kung practice still exist till todate. Human history has many findings way before holy books hence using scientific facts in holy book as prove of divine cannot be an objective one. While we insist to use what has been proven correct, we should not forget what has been proven wrong by science too.

Maybe I am ignorance but sounds to me just like any other holy books that claim their respective god is involved in creating this or that. It's merely a claim. I mean with today technology scientists can extract sperms and egg from people to fertilise the egg and create a baby, determining the baby's sex etc without God in the equation. The same process can be repeated many times with high percentage of expected result. Its a matter if cause and effect. When gem Y is planted you will not miraculously get a baby girl. @Sheikh Jahangeer, you have to first study Buddhism in order to gain atleast a little knowledge of 4 nobel truth, and then compare Buddha Dharma with Zakir's teachings. Then you will understand why I'm critizing Zakir.

Sheikh Jahangeer, let me share with you respectively why ZN had innocently or deliberately misinterpreted the basic of Buddhism i.e. The 4 Noble truth in this video. 1st Noble truth, Buddha said life is suffering but ZN jumped into conclusion that life has happiness too. He obviously do not understand what the Buddha meant by suffering. The suffering Buddha refers to are the pain in birth (including rebirth which put us into the cycle of suffering again and again), getting old, sickness, death, no getting what we want, can't get away from what we dislike, depart with what we like and the pain of physical body and emotion due to natural phenomena. All of us know this is true and we experienced it (safe for rebirth we hv no direct experience). Any Buddhists will understand this but ZK can't. Happiness we experienced is impermanent, it arise and deteriorates when the cause is normalized. We cannot deny this true too. The Buddha said to stop suffering is by eradicating desire. All lay Buddhists understand the Buddha referring to attachment, ego and hatred. But ZK mistaken it as all desires. The 8 fold paths listed the 1st path is right view which leads to right understanding then right action. But ZN started with wrong view of Buddha teaching and started critiquing using self ego, attachment to own agenda etc...his action reflected very clearly his ignorance of Buddhism like a bright mirror.

Buddhist teachings explain everything more clearly than any other religion. The Buddha taught people for more than double the time in comparison to Jesus or Muhammad . Very conveniently, Dr. Zakir avoided to go into the details to understand the 4 Noble Truth, like when the Buddha said that "You have to look into your desires..." to analyze what kind of desire we are talking about and see if it leads to suffering or not... Only then, you work on removing that desire. Removing all the desires will be extreme, because you are not making any distinction. The Buddha taught about the "Middle Way", just to let us understand to avoid extremes. All that makes even more clear the 4 Noble Truth real meaning. Thank you

Who was more wrong? Guatama for leaving his marital bed and an infant, or his wife who had a normal and healthy desire? Should she have looked into hers, to examine just why she desired that marital relationship, or should we look into his desires to not suffer with his wife and infant?

@@moorek1967 The question is not clear - Buddhism does not have black and white concepts like right and wrong but karma - action, cause and effect. Buddha was a prince and he left the wife and child in a palace with his king father and servants, so they were not left destitute. Prince Siddhartha who became Buddha later was tormented by the sufferings of the lesser fortunate humans living around the palace and wanted to find a way out. So he left the palace - rest is history - he left the family and palace temporarily but gained almost one billion followers whose prime concern is compassion. I too have a question for Christians in respect - how is it that all newborns in Egypt were targeted because of a pharaoh' s evil actions - which were done after God hardened his heart ? So the targeting seems deliberate - not to mention the worldwide flood that killed every human and animal except Noah and the family.

For 1 The Truth is not based on a specific time or place or what came before. You may have been an "ex" Muslim but perhaps your understanding and practice of Islam was not based on a stable foundation. (Sincerity in Allah and authentic knowledge) perhaps you were Just "going with the flow" or perhaps you practiced Islam based on your culture or society or parents or grandparents but never took time to know sincerely what is Islam, who is Allah? Who is His final Messenger and why? what's his (peace and prayers be upon him) relevance to us now. You mentioned "start meditation for a peaceful life." within the Islamic formal prayers (as-salaah) 5x a day is meditation in itself and more, if you Truley understands what is as-salaah. Buddhism is a path i think has various good ideas, values and principles which people can benefit from in general but like man in general, Man is prone to error, making mistakes, retractions, deficiency etc. He was enlightened and before then he was...or what about after enlightened...? Rather adhere to what was revealed from the Creator of mankind, who's knows best what is best for mankind. "Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember." (Qur'an, 7:3) "And when it is said to them, "Follow what Allah has revealed," they say, "Rather, we will follow that upon which we found our fathers." Even if Satan was inviting them to the punishment of the Blaze?" (Qur'an, 31:21) “if buddhism is love, kindness, compassion, forgiveness tolerant and self-discipline then i ask you sincerely to compare the biography of Buddha and the biography (seerah) of Prophet Muhammad and tell me who upheld such characteristics more. Not to mention beyond the self-growth and spiritual guidance, Islam came with law and governance on an individual level, family and communal level and state/ government level. Thus, impacting all forms of society both inwardly and outwardly and regardless of highlights of Buddha practices it in reality is not even close in comparison. "And We have sent you (O Muhammad) not but as a mercy for the Alameen (mankind, jinns and all that exists)” [Qur'an,' 21:107]. "Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets: and Allah has full knowledge of all things."(Qur'an, 33;40)

Do Buddhists believe in a God?
No, we do not. There are several reasons for this. The Buddha, like modern sociologists and psychologists, believed that religious ideas and especially the god idea have their origins in fear. The Buddha says:
Gripped by fear people go to sacred mountains, sacred groves, sacred trees and shrines.
    Dp. 188
Primitive humans found selves in a dangerous and hostile world, the fear of wild animals, of not being able to find enough food, of injury or disease, and of natural phenomena like thunder, lightning and volcanoes were constantly with them. Finding no security, they created the idea of gods in order to give them comfort in good times, courage in times of danger and consolation when things went wrong. To this day, you will notice that people become more religious at times of crises, you will hear them say that the belief in a god or gods gives them the strength they need to deal with life. You will hear them explain that they believe in a particular god because they prayed in time of need and their prayer was answered. All this seems to support the Buddha's teaching that the god-idea is a response to fear and frustration. The Buddha taught us to try to understand our fears, to lessen our desires and to calmly and courageously accept the things we cannot change. He replaced fear, not with irrational belief but with rational understanding.
The second reason the Buddha did not believe in a god is because there does not seem to be any evidence to support this idea. There are numerous religions, all claiming that they alone have god's words preserved in their holy book, that they alone understand god's nature, that their god exists and that the gods of other religions do not. Some claim that god is masculine, some that she is feminine and others that it is neuter. They are all satisfied that there is ample evidence to prove the existence of their god but they laugh in disbelief at the evidence other religions use to prove the existence of another god. It is not surprising that with so many different religions spending so many centuries trying to prove the existence of their gods that still no real, concrete, substantial or irrefutable evidence has been found. Buddhists suspend judgement until such evidence is forthcoming.
The third reason the Buddha did not believe in a god is that the belief is not necessary. Some claim that the belief in a god is necessary in order to explain the origin of the universe. But this is not so. Science has very convincingly explained how the universe came into being without having to introduce the god-idea. Some claim that belief in god is necessary to have a happy, meaningful life. Again we can see that this is not so. There are millions of atheists and free-thinkers, not to mention many Buddhists, who live useful, happy and meaningful lives without belief in a god. Some claim that belief in god's power is necessary because humans, being weak, do not have the strength to help themselves. Once again, the evidence indicates the opposite. One often hears of people who have overcome great disabilities and handicaps, enormous odds and difficulties through their own inner resources, through their own efforts and without belief in a god. Some claim that god is necessary in order to give man salvation. But this argument only holds good if you accept the theological concept of salvation and Buddhists do not accept such a concept. Based on his own experience, the Buddha saw that each human being had the capacity to purify the mind, develop infinite love and compassion and perfect understanding. He shifted attention from the heavens to the heart and encouraged us to find solutions to our problems through self-understanding.

Buddhist teaches you the wisdom and how human should live but Muslim believe that Allah is god, but Allah was not god it was a spirit of lucifer that Muhammad meets at the cave while he practice his black magic and the spirit came to him and calling him as god because this spirit helps him for better life. There are so many research about this. Search DAVID WOOD on TH-cam start of and will show you many other researchers too :)

"Budhdha never said god does not exist" this is your thinking, opinion, interpretation. Buddha did not say but teach. There is difference between saying and theaching, teaching suppose you have to understand the meaning, the lesson, saying suppose you have to accept it (this is not Budhism). When Buddha teach that nothing is created, there is no creator, no absolute being, not obsolute thing, no absolute, no beginning, no ending. What do you undersrand and conclude ? : "Buddha never said god does not exist". Strange as conclusion, no ? Almost the same conclusion from non-buddhist people. When Buddha give a lesson on the eath, turning around the sun, have a center, a surface all around the center, all the surface has almost the same distance to the center. Do you conclude than "Buddha never said eath is not flat" ? Your interpretation, almost all non-buddhist interpretation is to make Buddha saying not to study and understand Buddha's teaching, Buddha's Dharma.

People dont like sorrow... they dont ignore desire.. thats why people look on buddhism falsely... But the the truth is in the Buddhism... People dont believe the truth means, world go the dark side... we can see this in this world now... Terroriam, killing, environmental disasters those are the signs of going darkness... Everything is happened according to the Kamma... no other force... But buddhism not said there is no god.. Buddhism says there are God... and there are paranormal lives as well... Buddha has also introduced to the world that everything happens due to the presence of necessary conditions (Paticca Samuppada) and that the world is not govern by gods and devils. This has not shown by anybody else including their so called "god". Their deemed solution is to be found in the next life and is not proven either.

      Carefully read this authentic Hadith.
      Sunan an-Nasa'i 4070
      Ibn 'Abbas narrated that :
There was a blind man during the time of the Messenger of Allah [SAW] who had an Umm Walad by whom he had two sons. She used to slander and defame the Messenger of Allah [SAW] a great deal, and he would rebuke her, but she would not pay heed, and he would forbid her to do that, but she ignored him. (The blind man said) One night I mentioned the Prophet [SAW], and she slandered him. I could not bear it so I went and got a dagger which I thrust into her stomach and leaned upon it, and killed her. In the morning she was found slain. Mention of that was made to the Prophet [SAW] and he gathered the people and said: "I adjure by Allah; a man over whom I have the right, that he should obey me, and he did what he did, to stand up." The blind man started to tremble and said: "O Messenger of Allah [SAW], I am the one who killed her. She was my Umm Walad and she was kind and gentle toward me, and I have two sons like pearls from her, but she used to slander and defame you a great deal. I forbade her, but she did not stop, and I rebuked her, but she did not pay heed. The Buddha's Words on Kindness (Metta Sutra
This is what should be done By one who is skilled in goodness, And who knows the path of peace: Let them be able and upright, Straightforward and gentle in speech. Humble and not conceited, Contented and easily satisfied. Unburdened with duties and frugal in their ways. Peaceful and calm, and wise and skillful, Not proud and demanding in nature. Let them not do the slightest thing That the wise would later reprove. Wishing: In gladness and in saftey, May all beings be at ease. Whateverliving beings there may be; Whether they are weak or strong, omitting none, The great or the mighty, medium, short or small, The seen and the unseen, Those living near and far away, Those born and to-be-born, May all beings be at ease! Let none deceive another, Or despise any being in any state. Let none through anger or ill-will Wish harm upon another. Even as a mother protects with her life Her child, her only child, So with a boundless heart Should one cherish all living beings: Radiating kindness over the entire world Spreading upwards to the skies, And downwards to the depths; Outwards and unbounded, Freed from hatred and ill-will. Whether standing or walking, seated or lying down Free from drowsiness, One should sustain this recollection. This is said to be the sublime abiding. By not holding to fixed views, The pure-hearted one, having clarity of vision, Being freed from all sense desires, Is not born again into this world.

God is either perpetuating suffering or he's powerless to stop suffering. If god is perpetuating suffering he is evil and unworthy of worship, if he is powerless to stop suffering he is weak and unworthy of worship.
Not sure if the Buddha actually said this, it was mentioned by my RE teacher in highschool but it definitely sounds like something the Buddha would say.

      Islam teaches violence.
      Surah 9. Taubah
      5. Then when the Sacred Months (the 1st, 7th, 11th, and 12th months of the lslamic calendar) have passed, then kill the Mushrikun (See V .2: I 05) wherever you find them, and capture them and besiege them, .and lie in wait for them in each and every ambush. But if they repent and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and give Zakat, then leave their way free. Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

fahrialrozi To practicing Buddhist and Muslims as well. I'll first of all like to say that Buddha did speak about God who is called Brahma. Please read a sutta by the name like Brahma Sutta ( it has a longer name than that in real but I'm forgetting it right now) In this discourse he clearly mention that a very powerful deity Brahma does exist. But he is only falsely made to believe he is all powerful, omnipresent, omniscient etc by the very mara or evil that has crept in his realm too. Hence as per Buddhism god is not what is taught in Abraham religions. Hence, as per Buddha, Brahma or God has just mistaken himself for all the godly qualities by none other then Evil. As per Buddhism, we do not need god but we are slaves to our own karma. We must strive to do things neither to go to heaven or hell because all planes of existances are temporary and our consciousness or soul will move out of it eventually but over a long period of time. Our aim should be to attain Nirvana. Hope I'm able to clarify. Please note I have full respect and love for all human beings. Buddhists should not be upset or angry with anyone as we will move away from our Buddhist path.

What do all these men have in common? They're talking. Where do words come from? Thoughts? Where do thoughts come from? Seems to me like there's a silence. Like me, I can't stop talking because of the fear of silence. Not silence as in not talking or making sounds, I mean the silence that feels like death. Like an empty space. It's terrifying. That's the closest "I" have come to "truth".

    Buddhism is made for humanity
God teaches us how to make happy him.
Buddha teaches us how to person should be happy. in ibuddhism first come to humanity after that come religion. believe in god religion are first come religion after that come humanity. I am
Not a fan Zahid Naik, but in this case, I agree with him, Buddha was agnostic in his perspective and did not accept or deny the existence of God. Yet Buddhism even says that Brahma visited Buddha and Mara tempted Buddha. So it seems that Buddhism accepts the concept of dieties. As for the Buddhist monk, he talks about suffering and all powerful God and how both are not compatible. But Buddha himself says that nothing is permanent and thus the world is false and sufffering is due to false identity.. a notion that is held by Hindus too. If that be the case, why then attribute suffering to an almighty God? Didn’t Buddha also teach that suffering is due to karma and and attachment? So why in this case is Ajahn Brahm saying that if there is a God He cannot be all loving and all powerful at the same time? It is a contradiction of Buddhist believe itself.
