Anita Carter still had a beautiful angelic domineering voice when singing with her sisters and niece. I can see why she was a lead singer in most of their songs. She is about all who you can mainly hear as the others voices fall to the background.
Amazing post! I love, too, the small oops after the first verse or second verse. Carlene has a great stage presence and filled out the group after Maybelle passed. Both contralto range, too.
I read tat Bob Wooten was very abuse to Anita I pray she never had to take any abuse from him who did he think he was he sure was not good looking she was so beautiful and the voice of angel. She good have s much happier like. O miss you. You beautiful. You Beautiful Ange love you Sally
“I Ain’t Gonna Work Tomorrow” Well, I ain't going work tomorrow And I may not work next day Well, I ain't going work tomorrow For it be a wet, rainy day Well, I'll hang my head in sorrow Well, I'll hang my head and cry Well, I'll hang my head in sorrow As my darling passes by Well, I ain't going work tomorrow And I may not work next day Well, I ain't going work tomorrow For it be a wet, rainy day Don't you hear guitar ringing Don't you hear this mournful sound Don't you hear those pretty girls laughing Standing on the cold, cold ground Well, I ain't going work tomorrow And I may not work next day Well, I ain't going work tomorrow For it be a wet, rainy day Well, she told me that she loved me And it give my poor heart grief And she's got her back turned on me She's courting whoever she please Well, I ain't going work tomorrow And I may not work next day Well, I ain't going work tomorrow For it be a wet, rainy day Well, I lost my money in gambling And I lost my name, you see I am nobody's darling And nobody cares for me Well, I ain't going work tomorrow And I may not work next day Well, I ain't going work tomorrow For it be a wet, rainy day. 👍🏻🎸✌🏻
Helen's vocal talents were/are very underappreciated. She was a great singer in her own right.

Wonderful women of country
Terrific. Where can a man find girls like this?
Helen plays more like Mother Maybelle than the others. They are all great.
She plays more like mother Maybelle
than Maybelle played herself!!!
And in different chords positions too. 😊
The Carter scratch

He was not physically abusive. Their marriage was a short one.
Where did you read that Bob Wooten was abusive to Anita?
“I Ain’t Gonna Work Tomorrow”
Well, I ain't going work tomorrow
And I may not work next day
Well, I ain't going work tomorrow
For it be a wet, rainy day
Well, I'll hang my head in sorrow
Well, I'll hang my head and cry
Well, I'll hang my head in sorrow
As my darling passes by
Well, I ain't going work tomorrow
And I may not work next day
Well, I ain't going work tomorrow
For it be a wet, rainy day
Don't you hear guitar ringing
Don't you hear this mournful sound
Don't you hear those pretty girls laughing
Standing on the cold, cold ground
Well, I ain't going work tomorrow
And I may not work next day
Well, I ain't going work tomorrow
For it be a wet, rainy day
Well, she told me that she loved me
And it give my poor heart grief
And she's got her back turned on me
She's courting whoever she please
Well, I ain't going work tomorrow
And I may not work next day
Well, I ain't going work tomorrow
For it be a wet, rainy day
Well, I lost my money in gambling
And I lost my name, you see
I am nobody's darling
And nobody cares for me
