    After trying countless air fryer recipes, this is it, the recipe that works consistently
    I did it slightly differently, I boiled the pork belly with ginger slices and salt to remove the pork smell. After that I followed the steps shown exactly. The results is crispy pork belly!

    You actually don't need the coarse salt at all! I did it using a different recipe, similar steps here except the coarse salt on top of the skin for the 1st bake. Turned out beautifully crispy. 👌

    Hi, can i know wats the purpose of coarse salt ?

    • @CollectionOfTastes
      @CollectionOfTastes  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, salt is used to dry up the pork skin to make it more crispy after frying. The coarse salt was chosen instead of fine salt, because coarse salt will not make the skin salty and it is more easier to be removed as well. Hope this helps and thanks for the comment😊

    Why the Air fryer, oven and grill?? Can't you show how to fry it in a wide Pan or something?? A person who likes it very much 🤗🤗👍

    • @CollectionOfTastes
      @CollectionOfTastes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can use oven or grill if you have larger piece of meat, but air fryer can save time and energy. Thanks for liking my video 😊👍

    thanks for sharing. can i skip the step of adding baking soda?

    • @CollectionOfTastes
      @CollectionOfTastes  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're welcome. The purpose of adding baking soda is to making sure the skin is completely dry, hence the crispiness after roasting. So, it is up to your own preference.

    I have a similar way. But just way less salt. Just a pinch of salt to dehydrate the skin.

    • @CollectionOfTastes
      @CollectionOfTastes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually there is many way of making roasted pork belly😊. Sometimes I will just keep the pork belly at the fridge (no cover) to dry for 2 days without adding coarse salt, as long as the pork skin is dry enough to make it crispy.

  • @IsidoreCYO
    @IsidoreCYO 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Doesn’t the coarse salt make the skin so salty?

    • @CollectionOfTastes
      @CollectionOfTastes  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. It doesn't make the skin salty as the coarse salt is not melted. The purpose of adding the coarse salt is to dehydrate the skin and make the skin more crispy after roasting. 🙂

    Has your meat already been scored prior to you poking holes? What is the difference between your large holes and other recipes' small holes, using nails or tooth picks?

    • @CollectionOfTastes
      @CollectionOfTastes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The meat was not scored prior the holes poking process, and it is best to use something firm and sharp(small knife) to make proper holes into the skin for better end result.

    Why do you use oil when you should use lard. That's what the pig is made of.
    The world is waking up to the dangers of these awful oils.

  • @ducamealy5652

    I totally disagree with the final bed of salt because you had seasoned the meat with enough salt and spices at the beginning.

  • @iechuanlee9326
    @iechuanlee9326 ปีที่แล้ว

    The meat look very dry.
