Hiking 62 Miles on the Lycian Way in Turkey

- The Lycian Way is one of the world’s great long-distance hiking trails, regularly featuring in top-10 lists for its unique combination of Mediterranean views, mountainous hinterland, Turkish culture and ancient ruins.
Its pull on the imagination is undeniable, and it wasn’t long ago that its mix of stunning coastline, resort towns and rustic villages pulled me in. The 540km waymarked footpath follows the bulging outline of the Teke Peninsula between the tourist towns of Fethiye and Antalya. Along the way, it skirts the coast and climbs up into the rugged backcountry. This stretch of dramatic Mediterranean coastline, its beaches and vertiginous sea cliffs overlooked by the olive-grove-dotted foothills of the Western Taurus Mountains, where travellers can explore moss-covered chambers of history’s first proto-democratic union.

Great video! I have done 2 stretches of the Lycian way (9 days and 7 days). Where did you end this trip? I have 2 children now but dreaming of the day i can go back and do more..
My tour finished from Fethiye to Kaş. This road is called the West Lycian. I'm excited to walk the East Lycian. I believe it You can do this with your children ✌️

😀That's cool, man! I bed it was a great experience and definitely picturesque scenes and charming nature. I was surprised to see you walking with Husky (Flame?) tent 😊 They are not the lightest ones but more durable than many others.
I've been walking Lycia Yolu back in 2018 and couldn't stretch myself to complete it all. However nature and hikers you meet on your way is something you'll never forget. I was carrying a Husky Fighter, red, just like yours but 4.5kg of weight 😁😁. Was an overkill to walk up the Babadag hill and when I reached the summit the workers told me there is no way through so I have to turn back. Oh god...😂

Is ultra/lightweight hiking not a thing in Europe yet? I didn’t carry that much gear even 30 years ago. Lighten the load. Free your feet. Nice vid though.

gidilebilecek en iyi dönem bence bahar dönemleri hava ne soğuk ne sıcak yürümek ve kamp kurmak için gayet ideal bir dönem. geçen sene kasım ayında likya yolu yürüyüşüm bitti o dönem baya sakindi. tek başına gitmek için ekipmanlarını tamamlayıp doğayla başbaşa kalmaya hazır olmak gerekir

Hiking in March is absolutely perfect ✌️ There is no COVID restriction for tourists in Turkey at the moment. Locals will be happy to see you there :)

2022 nisan da 2 arkadaş yürüyüşe çıktık , çok pişman olduk ,yürüyüş yapılacak zemin yok ,çoğu yerde ayakta durmak zor, bunlar sorun değilde ,yöre halkının , esnafının size uzaylı gibi bakması ve aşırı kazıklaması büyük sorun.
yolda yürüken bir köy evi gördük çay içiyolardı ,selamlaştık bizi çay içmeye davet ettiler ,yorulmuştuk içelim dedik sohbet ordan burdan ,kalkarken borcumuz var mı dedik nezaketen : 4 çay 80 tl dedi şalvarlı teyze…
35 km yürüdük akşam çadır kuracak yer arıyoruz acemilikte var , nereye yeltensek bir köylü çıkıp çadır kurma parası istiyor üstelik çadır başı 250 ila 400 arası ,dedik aşırı pahalı pansiyonda kalalım günlük 750 tl istediler ,iğrenç bir yer, iğrenç insanlar görmek isteyen gitsin ,şu an yola çıkan biri aylık 50 bin lirayı cebine koysun…
2020 yılında yürüdüm likya yolunu, zorlu bir yol hafif malzemelerle yürümek gerekiyor. normal market fiyatlarından o dönemde daha pahalıydı ama bahsettiğin gibi yöre halkının bu denli değişimi beni şaşırttı. kaç gece çadır kurduk hiç kimse ücret talep etmedi hatta bir gün hava karardıktan sonra çadır kuracak yer bulamamıştık arıcılık yapan bir aileye sorduk yakınlarda çadır kurabileceğimiz bir yer var mı diye bizim bahçemizde kalabilirsiniz dediler yemek ve çay bile ikram ettiler sabah kalktık yolumuza devam ettik. sanırım ekonomik sorunların arttığı bu dönemde insanlar bir şekilde para kaynağı olarak görmeye başlamış yürüyüşçüleri. üzüldüm.
@@buludyy bende çok üzüldüm , hevesle gittim , insanlarımızın para hırsı çok korkuttu beni ya köy evinde para isteyecekleri asla aklıma gelmezdi,,ilk gün bir koya gittik şimdi ismini unuttum ,rüzgar vardı biraz iç tarafa çadır kurmak istedik ,bi ''abi'' geldi,çadır mı kuracanız ?
