I have that box and no I don’t put it on map 7 all the time so yes the Bluetooth connectivity is pretty convenient, and mine works perfectly fine on my iPhone, I have the box for over a year now and on map 7 it definitely makes a difference in boost ,the car feels faster
If you had a better launch / better tyres the difference would be even bigger. The 9.1 second run with the box in was just bogging down and wheelspin to like 30mph

It’s well reported anything plug & play is not good for your car, each engine differs slightly hence a proper tune - either do it properly or not at all. The figures were poor regardless of conditions & certainly don’t warrant having it on there. My TDI has a quicker bog standard time. Just saying mate, save your engine & return. I personally do not think the wife would let me anywhere near tinkering on her car lol. Not that I would want to mind you - it's kind of silly on a low powered car. Surprisingly though a lot of owners are asking about these type of things hence the video. But makes sense to go down the full map route as it's specific to the individual car rather than generic. I need to get my supra mapped soon!

Wrong , it’s not well reported at all , now days tuning boxes are well made with high technology programming and is mostly used by ppl that still have warranty on their cars .. in fact it’s just the opposite a bad tune can completely ruin your engine.
Hey Mate. Great vid as usual. I have been using the DTUK kit on many of my cars. There stuff is awesome and i have it planned for the incomming Python Yellow A3 35 tfsi sportback. Comes next month. You get proper support and results from there kit. Same sort of installation as well. Worth trying them for your viewers mate. Cheers Dan

Hi hombre. I feel the actual installation of this box was quite useless. Do the coppers use these to supe up their cars then ? How can it also be legal to tamper with a cars performance to up the speed ? Nevertheless informative as usual from your good self. Keep em coming 👍🏼
Thanks bud, its totally legal to increase the speed of your car provided you stick to the speed limit lol. The only thing thing is you have to declare it to your insurance company to stay legal as it's a modification to the car. Also not sure where you would stand on a financed car as they are usually strict about modifying.
Audi can indeed trace any removed box or map on current cars but only if they look for it,as in if you are claiming any warranty work which could have been induced by a map or box.

I got a brand new company car on order VW mk 8 Golf GTD and interested in a tuning box. The only thing that worries me is around getting caught with one by dealer when goes in for a service and potentially insurance consequences because I intend to say nothing to anyone about it. The main concern for me is how easy it is to get caught with a tuning box?

Hey buddy, a few things come to mind, but what is your reason for moving on so soon from the a7? Also are they young kids? Or teenagers etc? And I'm assuming you're still looking within the Audi brand?
@@CRD90 Yeah basically none, so at the start of a launch it has instant torque (Kinda annoying in a front wheel drive car so I wish it was quattro) along with the 1.4 tfsi motor with 150 bhp motor its an excellent car. I'm only surprised because one really doesn't think of a hybrid as a fast car lol I would do a conversion, but working with a hybrid is annoying. Too much shit to change out and really not worth it. Buying a new one would probably be cheaper in terms of tools, time, part cost. Got the car for a bargain cause the seller just wanted to get rid of it. The car is also amazing so there really is no point. I will definitely get this box TDI Tuning box though. Excellent review.

@Asmodeus speak to your local Audi dealer or even independent and let them educate you on software traceability and you will understand 😉

I would just remove it, we've done this on previous cars (s5) and not had an issue when it goes in for service etc.

Tuning boxes are a scam, they only change a couple of parameters - ask for proof and a guarantee of improvement - you wont get it.…
