Holy crap. So excited to try fixing my van this week. I've been dreading it for a few months but now I know it could be this simple I'm going to give it a shot. Fingers crossed!
Great information. I just fixed mine yesterday. The wire broke in exactly the same place as yours. I inserted a longer splice and put in a stress loop. the fix was simple and effective. Thanks!!!
Be sure you sliders are lubed. My door was stopping half way then reversing. I lubed it up with penetrating oil by simply spraying it in the upper slider and that fixed it. It closed/completed the cycle after that.
Man oh man so glad I found this. My left side door motor doesn’t even operate at all - hope this fixes it. Additionally a new problem emerged today - the final motorized “pull” that the door does, even if if gently manually slide the door shut, then the extra inch at the end that draws in the back edge of the door - isn’t working. The back edge of the door remains “open” a bit and it won’t secure into the latch. Hope that makes sense. Hope it’s just a bad wire like this?
I just took my 95 Chrysler T&C to the mechanic to get a new plastic cover which was broken at the end and a new wire harness they charged $500 for the harness and $300 for labor total of $800. and had my van for 11 days waiting for the parts! OMG!! Another lady was ripped off in Arizona.
ok mine wont open fully like the begining of the video, not even if i try it manually. so theres my problem... getting the door open fully to fix it. help
I wish I could find someone to do this for me, Im having the same problem, but cant do this myself. The Crysler people want like $1100 dollars to fix this.
@@GLWise-om6rt I'm in SoCal (the IE) if that helps. I have a Town and Country Limited with all the bells and whistles, but the problem with all of that nice stuff is eventually the bells stop ringing and the whistles stop whistling and you have to figure out the problem, and either fix it or learn to ignore it. I've had my T&C for 12 years and it's been pampered and still runs, drives, and looks great but the little issues with all of that "nice to have" power this and that is starting to wear me down. Mine now has a power sliding door issue that I'm researching but I think its problem is the door latch actuator and not the wiring issue in the video.

Were you able to fix this? I am having the exact same problem
@@yanamerriam4604 sorry to say that I “fixed it” by selling the van and getting a Tesla, but that probably doesn’t help you ;)

@@desokemasis8145 sorry but I'm not a mechanic. Just a guy that figured out how to do one thing on a car and posted a video about it. Good luck!
the driver side power door will not unlock and can be opened manually. why?
Sorry. I'm not a mechanic. Just put the video on TH-cam because it worked for me.
Mine will open but wont close. You can hear the motor release but it wont close on its own.
