    I met Ja while training in Thailand. Nice guy. Paul put in a great effort against a well seasoned fighter. I thought Paul had this one but v close. Great fight

    So few fighters try more risky techniques, even with a loss I’d rather watch a fighter who’s imaginative and triessome more traditional Muay Thai boran moves rather then just kickboxing with the occasional elbow. Good on you Paul 👍 breath of fresh air

    I don’t understand why people in the comments section say that Paul won, maybe he won in the smiling contest but other than that Ja was the aggressor and landed more strikes and another thing Paul was frozen in almost every round

    • @sargent5150
      @sargent5150 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What fight were you watching? this was a very close fight, maybe even a draw with a slight edge to Paul. "Frozen?' he completely shut Ja down for the first 2 rounds and made it look like Paul was light years ahead of Ja. the 3 and 4 Ja closed the distance and tended to a have more of an answer for Paul's style. the 5th round was very even... JA was frozen for 3 out of 5 rounds if anyone was frozen.

    • @mariocez7374
      @mariocez7374 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sargent5150 I agree with you. Ja haven't done nothing besides aggressiveness that he did not capitalize from. Paul slightly won the fight 3-2. Won first 2, lost next 2 and clearly won the 5th.

    • @tnobregasousa
      @tnobregasousa 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's pretty simple the guy who hits the other more wins right or is there some mystical thai special criteria of getting tagged repeatedly and securing late round double leg takedowns that wins muaythai fights?

    • @415ofaloto
      @415ofaloto 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tnobregasousa Thais prioritize technicality, composure, and style more than western boxing. They don't use a compubox system or count who hits the other person the most. They are looking at difficulty, accuracy, execution and effectiveness of technique which is why they don't score punches as high as kicks, knees, and elbows. Also, because it's all about betting at the fights, they score the later rounds more heavily. Not mystical, but it's definitely a different system.

      I respect Paul, he seems like a nice humble guy but it was a mile really especially being thrown to the ground many times like that if this fight was in thailand it's gonna be 30-1 or 50-1 for Ja by the beginning of round5.

      Probably yes.

    • @jonnywaterhouse4211
      @jonnywaterhouse4211 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hardly, ja didn't dictate the pace or land many techniques, he threw him, what twice? paul landed two lush spinning elbows which score highly, and plenty of kicks, flying knees, i'd have given that last round to paul to, it's quite possible to win a fight on the backfoot when you're defending and countering well, Ja landed a lot less over the whole fight

    • @former2081
      @former2081 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      In thailand the ref and the gamblers give lots of credits to the stronger fighter, You being thrown on the ground over and over which means you're weak or out of energy and you're done. P.S. where did you get the idea that spinning elbows score highly? not true at all watch some more muaythai fights in thailand and learn.
