Going to be honest, that live seafood is pretty torturous. I like the content but coating that seafood in seasoning that certainly is painful crossed a line for me. Not to mention the weird squid thing is unnecessary to say the least. I do not approve even though I’m an avid meat eater.
@@lemonslice5yearsand790 not while being bathed in salts and toyed with prior. We are above that, and I find that Asian cultures are much more emotionless towards food than average westerners, and that's fine on its own, but some of their practices are way below acceptable, mainly in lacking respect for the animal that is giving you life, they are very indifferent to the torture that food endures. Don't get me wrong, i live in hypocrisy 100% as a meat eater, it just triggered me in particular it seems. I live in Atlantic Canada where the best lobsters in the world are caught and sold, and i find a death in boiling steam is horrendous. And yes STEAM, which gets hotter than water under pressure, the proper way to cook a lobster is steam boil in a shallow sea watered pot. You will never convince the people from here that stabbing them in the head first to kill them is a good idea, the thought of the lobster feeling pain is not even discussed. So i get it, it's just my thoughts on it, I'm not about cancel culture at all and generally love the content, no holds barred.
I was thinking the same thing. It would be fantastic if all our food felt no pain, but alas, some of it does, and it's important to show at least the bare minimum kindness to the things that sustain us.
@ratherbebaking56 PH they are being killed before we cook them or consume them, we don't toy with them and slather them in bbq sauce and 16 mesh black pepper while they are still conscious or aware.
That squid dish takes exotic to the next level. Usually "exotic" just means the food the local population resorted to have to use as an ingredient and did the best they could with it. This shit was just mean...
It is cruel. No offence to non "western" countries but some still participate in unnecessary animal cruelty, such as eating this squid alive, cutting shark fins off and hunting whales.
I'm too uncultured for this stuff, eating alive things is weird ( despite many other creatures doing the same thing). Love the vids despite how uncomfortable some make me feel, the western world ain't the only way.

OMG Sonny - you are one heck of a food traveler - this I don't think I would be able to bring myself to eat live things. but looks interesting.
"SO THE SQUID EATS THE SAUCE THEN YOU EAT THE SQUID?" ----my brother in christ they waterboard the squid with the sauce until it inhales it then we eat it
They're pretty smart too so they're watching to happen to one another, wild stuff.
cannibalism
This guy walking around the world eating all the creature's he can! So amazing! Cant wait to see the episode where he visits that cannibalistic tribe and they have him over for dinner, so yummy!
Hey man i love your show, ever thought about coming to Central America or the Caribbean?
He speaks so professionally. COOL
Shrimp heads are so good but we call them prawn heads in Australia 🤙🤙
and in England
The first one with the bones looked so amazing and the meat looked so tender!!! The second one looked disgusting and cruel!!!🤮
Going to be honest, that live seafood is pretty torturous. I like the content but coating that seafood in seasoning that certainly is painful crossed a line for me.
Not to mention the weird squid thing is unnecessary to say the least. I do not approve even though I’m an avid meat eater.
Noted.
they were eaten alive in the wild tho.
I love how he eats every thing unlike those tiktok people that don't!!! :)
1:47 why the food look like some type of beautiful waterfall ❤️❤️❤️☺️
YOUR MEAL is Calling my belly good
goosh THAI MEAT PILE look so daang good that's MASSIVE PILE
That squid dish takes exotic to the next level. Usually "exotic" just means the food the local population resorted to have to use as an ingredient and did the best they could with it. This shit was just mean...
Sonny, do you and your wife need someone to watch your house while you’re filming?! 😊 You live in heaven Seriously though, LOVE the content
Wtf. Who's his wife. I didn't know he married. Vietnamese?
Great content. Love the show you make.
This is how all food review should be done!
8:56 😂😂
there is no way i would eat a live squid like that, seems...cruel
If it doesn’t make you sick then go ahead
It is cruel. No offence to non "western" countries but some still participate in unnecessary animal cruelty, such as eating this squid alive, cutting shark fins off and hunting whales.
I'm too uncultured for this stuff, eating alive things is weird ( despite many other creatures doing the same thing). Love the vids despite how uncomfortable some make me feel, the western world ain't the only way.
They only started eating squid like that a year ago, it’s a new for them too and some locals don’t like the practice as it’s mostly for tourists
Probably because squid are one of the most intelligent creatures and they defiantly felt the pain.
I hope one day I try all of these. The squid, the shrimp head and spiny lobster, yum!
Sonny , im Singaporean and i say ignore those comments! Love your show and love your comments! Do visit Singapore again and maybe contact KF Seetoh. Just ask Mark Wiens.
I can see the terror on the face of the squid. Atleast kill and cook it first have a little mercy😭
The squid eating part is really sad, poor squids 🐙 😢
Cry baby.
Eating things alive is cruel.
Idc.
Tell that to wolves....or piranhas.
6:30 -> "The shrimp are super fresh"... yeah no shit, they're literally alive 😆
I like how sonny grabbed that guys phone and was like he’s on a face time haha
Wow, that was disgusting yet awesome. Good job!
Lol agree 🤣
5:00 I was literally eating a salad and paused! Omg
As a Thai, I’m so happy to see you visit this place.
The south East Asian episodes are my favorite 🤩
I don't know how but I'm absolutely starving after seeing this
