I LOVE how Sonny is always so honest with his reviews he doesn’t sugarcoat if somethings good or not. Hope you try Malay and Indian cuisines (Head to Geylang or Little India!!) while you’re here too Sonny they’re just as sedapppp!!!!
As a Queenslander (in Australia), I've grown up eating mud crab. It is the most beautiful meat, especially if boiled in the shell in salt water and eaten either straight away or after cooling it down. Try cold mud crab on fresh bread with real butter and some salt and pepper. Oh yeah...
I've never eaten mud crab, having grown up near Melbourne. We used to eat abalone, southern rock lobster and Aussie king crab (Tasmanian crab). We also get Portland bay bugs (smaller cousin of Morton bay bugs.) Pretty spectacular country to live for that kind of thing, even down south.
In the 80s I cooked in a Steakhouse in Tucson (good one). We served King Crab, the legs were about 1lb each. Back then it was 2 legs per order for $28... We just steamed it and served with drawn Lemon Butter... We used to toss in an extra leg occasionally when we got an order... they were VERY lax with inventory. Alaskan King Crab is the single best food I've ever eaten, bar none.
One time my grandmother gave me a tiny glass Christmas stocking filled with M & Ms. years later I used it as a crack pipe. So yes, Hershey’s chocolate and cocaine go hand in hand.

Singaporeans love their seasonings and strong, hearty flavours xD I'm a huge fan of chilli crab myself, but agree that the sauces overshadow the natural flavours of the crab. If you haven't done so yet, definitely recommend a chicken rice spree in Singapore! It's beloved by many, almost making it a national favourite, and captures both the flavours of the meat and seasonings.
I'm with you... crab is best enjoyed with minimal seasonings. I had a crab curry once at an Indian restaurant; the curry itself was delicious, but the meat could've been many different seafoods stuffed in a crab shell. King crab/snow crab has an AMAZING naturally sweet flavor you can't really find in anything else. To cover that up, especially for the price you pay, would be a shame.
@@Welcome2TheInternet that just shows whoever cooked your food was not very talented with the seasonings - if a chili sauce is bland you really messed up on the prep or your palate is just ruined.
