Just did. Reliving this music and era. My brother has/had a lot of VHS tapes of The Scene & another dance show I can’t remember. I was thinking about this show & texted, he is trying to find them tapes
I am addicted! You would think this a sketch show or a parody inside a studio movie! I was expecting them to only dance to R&B and then Hardcore, Rave and Techno music plays! Black people in the East Coast and definitely the UK, where I'm from were NOT about that scene! Here in the UK, Black British people were into Reggae, Soul and New Jack Swing! It was the White kids and gay Black guys who LOVED Rave and Hardcore music and used Ecstasy pills and water to dance all night in clubs and illegal parties in fields!
This is a true good show. Rip to Pam and Ms. T. Wow I was so young then now am in my dam 40s but still dancing. Hello to all the dancers this is Ms. E. People still ask my about the show 30 years later wow.
I remember riding around in the car with my moms while this would play on the radio. I didn’t know wtf it was but I my little head was always bopping😆😌
Tune @ 1:22 is a great little tool :) Ontoni - Badd Minded on KMS (Detroit) 1992 To be honest, all the tracks are great and so are the dancers and this show. Love it.
That aint true. Black folks all over the world still appreciate techno and detroit techno. I still artist like Dj pierre, Juan Atkins, kevin saunderson. My own brother refuses to accept European techno unless ita up to this standard. They still have movement festival in Detroit that pay homage if im not mistaken
In Detroit, it seemed more like hip-hop mix tapes were big. DJ Wax Taxn Dre and producer Sean P are good examples of what was popular around this time.
What in sam hell is the guy name in the red leather USA jacket with no shirt? Did he ever wear a shirt? 🤣 🤣? He was one of my favorites and the chocolate guy in the shiny shirt. Certain ones Lawanda, Brownie, Celeste, and a few others you knew their names. Can we get this show back please? Let all the old dancers come back with their canes and all 🤣 🤣 and i would still watch it. STAY SAFE. GOD BLESS 🙏🏾 🙏🏾.
Hey hoping all is well. Does anyone know the name of the very first song? It would also be cool to have another reunion/update on the dancers. Take care everyone 🙏🏾♥️
Yeah the Scene was hosted by Nat Morris. This show was never called the Scene however there were some dancers on this show that may have been on the Scene.
God alive, I would have been the ONLY white guy here jamming OUT. I LOVE this music. Mostly only white ppl' liked it here (Ohio). I hated the segregation of music. IT has lead to what we have today and that is awful.
+TheCorrectViews The only person that would have cared about you being the only white is you. I'm sure they would have welcomed you with open arms. Imagine how blacks feel being the ONLY one in the room.
Oh, it was a joke ;) I saw Carl Cox once and we spoke of how in different parts of the country it was so different. He would be praised in one town and called names by other blacks in other towns for not playing different more "core" styles. I recall having a wonderful time at a Detroit club once going to see Orb and Sheep on Drugs. It was an amazing time.
Black people in Detroit were making and dancing toTechno since its inception. Oh wait didn't 3 black guys along with some others basically invent the music in Detroit? Black people in Chicago invented a music that was similar called House. I wonder how those facts got lost hmmm? Luckily we have videos like this huh!
@@Caprice87 thats a shame :( some great music on these videos! Never realised the scene in Detroit was so good, ive been brought up on the house/techno/trance produced in the UK and Europe, so never knew you had it so good over there!
We need a New Dance Show Reunion Special! Show the children how to do it!
Yes we sure do!!
I bought my 1200s and records at Buy Right Music in Detroit
Ain't it about time THIS HISTORY REPEAT ITSELF?????? ❤

In the US, both Detroit Techno and Chicago House were about dressing up - by the time they reached England it was all about dressing down.

Awesome music. It's a little weird, because I'm used to seeing blacks on tv just going with hip hop and RnB. This is nice for a change.
