Great archive footage ,I grew up in the 70s and 80s , and snooker was a massive part of it,...with the likes of Davis, Reardon , Higgins Griffith's , white , mount joy .thorburn , Spencer , Taylor and others .....and my belief the 1980s was the golden era of snooker, ..it was a great time

The top 16 was the benchmark of high quslity at the time in the 70's ans 80's.
But is not the benchmark in terms of high quality compared with all other decades since. The names of the 70's and 80's it is impossible to claim that almost all of them would make up all of the top 16's of all later decades had they came along 2 or 3 decades later.

Great film about these Welsh garden gnomes. They wouldn't be able to compete today the game has come on so much and it was so interesting how Doug was treating a normal century break like a golden 147 maximum. I think Griffiths only had 88 century breaks in his career and by God it most likely took him 88 years to make them as that man was slow. I loved the Welsh scenery the old villages and those ancient t.v. adverts. Still it was very boring!
