Nice to see Higgins applaud the Davis century at the end!

Dessie still playing in seniors stuff now.
Not surprised Terry had the cueball cleaned if there was an “animal” on it!!! (classic Ted Lowe)

The first time I have seen Des Sheehan play. He looked to be quite an attacking player but you could see he was very nervous here.

Can't say I'd heard of Dessie Sheehan before this.

It said on his wiki page he is from Limerick. Seemed to have spent a lifetime at the game without any rewards from it. Highest ranking 81 back in the 1980's.

Dwight Schrute showing he could turn his hand to snooker when required.

Standard of play all round was very poor, painful to watch this generation of players.

I totally agree the standard today is far better, having said that one needs to take into account the cloths and the balls were far heavier back then. This has been addressed in interviews with Steve Davis. I'd go as far to say that if the players back then had todays conditions they would be at least 20/30 points better per break.
