Nasi Kahwin hari -hari means wedding rice for everyday (instead of just for weddings). Black sauce curry ingredients are soy sauce, onion , dried chili, cumin, ginger, The rice is yellow because of turmeric infused with lemongrass, star anise, ginger, pandan leaves.

Its okay to use fork when you eat rice. It is your culture and I respect your culture. No need to change but adapting new culture is how diverse you are.

@@TravelingSoloLogs It's because you are holding your camera with your other hand so you find it difficult to eat with just the spoon. Usually we use fork and spoon together. Using the fork to poke or peel the meat and pushing the food into the spoon with the fork to eat. Like what you did after you put your camera down. Another reason for eating rice with spoon, you can fill up more rice and stuff on the spoon with no grains of rice dropping in between the fork LOL.

In the past, we serve this menu during wedding feast. Since people like it they want to eat it everyday. So that's how they came out with the name "Nasi Kahwin Hari Hari". Who knows you might find a future bride among Malaysia. Alhamdulillah... Enjoy yourself....

Nasi Kahwin Hari Hari ... Nasi Kahwin means rice plus all the side dishes that is served to invitees during the Malay "wedding ceremony". It's more like a set menu with 2 type of rice, and you won't find full range of side dishes like in a restaurant here. Hari hari means everyday.
Usually weddings (especially before the covid-19) are planned during school holidays so that families and friends can gather easily. But school holidays are limited to March, Jun, September and Nov-December long holidays.
So for those who crave for nasi kenduri during the off-season can come and buy/eat it here, everyday if you want.

Hope that you could get invited to a Malay-style wedding where you could experience firsthand the food that we eat at weddings. The usual menu would be Ayam Masak Merah, Daging Masak Hitam, Jelatah (slightly pickled mix veges), and Dalca (Dhall Curry). There's usually fruits, sweets/desserts for you to enjoy your meal with. Some weddings go above and beyond like having extra side dishes for the guests to have a variety of foods to eat.

Malay dish combine dry spices such as coriander, fennel , black pepper, cinnamon, star anise, cardamon, curry and herb such as galangal, tumeric, onion, garlic, chilies, ginger, lemongrass, tamarind. To ticken the gravy, we usually add coconut milk which bring the richness to the taste.

Nasi Kahwin Hari Hari refers to the dishes that they serve which are normally prepared during a Malay wedding reception. You don’t go to the wedding everyday but HERE you can find THE dishes of the wedding everyday (hari hari). Nasi Kahwin literally translated as Wedding Dishes that you can find everyday. However, those dishes are also available at other places and the dishes sold here are not all of the normal wedding foodstuffs, they are just the few of the common or typical Malay wedding dishes we normally have. Go to real wedding sometime 👩‍❤️‍👨

The kind of rice that you ate is my favourite, nasi hujan panas but I usually eat it with grilled beef. The dish that you didn't choose to eat was Honey Chicken
