  • In this video, I drained and filled CVT fluid in a 2013 Subaru Outback. This process should work on most newer Subarus.
    amzn.to/3FVCxdU - Pump I used
amzn.to/3uai8yW - Gasket for drain plug (engine oil too) 12-pack
amzn.to/468FOAX - Gasket for fill plug
    amzn.to/477qRAG - CVTF-II 6 quarts (should be enough)
    amzn.to/47pGfbl - CVTF-II 8 quarts (just in case)
    amzn.to/3QysYGv - Infrared Thermometer
    amzn.to/3FVfEHo - Brake Parts Cleaner

Hello! I've purchased the same car for my wife (good for snow in new jersey) with 101k miles and I will take it to the mechanic to do the flush of the transmission fluid. You don't replace a filter for this process? Thank you!

I don’t as I don’t believe it to be necessary, I also don’t recall that on maintenance list on Subaru official service manual, as far as I remember.

Was the cvt overfilled?, it seems like 1/2 quart coming out of the fill plug seems excessive. good video

It did look like it had more than needed when I opened fill plug initially. Did you have less when you did yours?

@@PZPal usually when the transmission is hot, the volume increases some. I might see a little stream when I open the fill plug on a hot transmission but not much. looks like you filled it to pretty much the exact amount when you serviced it. good video
