Thank you so much!!! I was getting so frustrated and simply had the cartridges on the wrong side (color in the black ink and black in the color ink). So thank you!!!
If you run out of colors, you can definitely print in black and white only. Go to your computer and click “Print” from the file that you wanted to print. Click on “Properties” and then the “Color” tab next. Select the “Print in grayscale” option by clicking on its checkbox. You can now start printing in black and white. We hope this helps.
After I rapped on the cartridge and put it in the printer, it worked. However, when I printed photos they had banding in them. It took me awhile to associate the two events. I then wiped the cartridge and the contacts in the printer (as instructed by hp) and the prints are turning out well now.
We're happy to hear that everything is working well now. Should you have any other questions or concerns, please contact us through email, livechat or call us at 888-321-2552 for immediate assistance, we will certainly be here to assist you!
We are sorry for the trouble. On your printer screen display, please look and press the ink droplet icon at the right hand side to show the cartridges ink levels.
If you touch it, the printer will not to recognize the ink cartridge. For cleaning it, take a warm damp paper towel or coffee filter and blot the cartridge with the print heads facing down onto the paper towel to remove the dried ink on the print head. Then, taking a DRY paper towel or coffee filter, hold the cartridge down against the paper towel for 2-3 minutes. A dry paper towel will wick the ink out. Do not wipe the print head as this may cause damage. Try reinstalling and print a test page after the machine reboots. Should you need further assistance, you can contact our customer service team directly here: ld.ink/2DM8cOU
The ink might simply isn't coming out through the nozzles properly. We just have to loosen the ink inside the cartridge so that it can flow out correctly. You can try these: Get a damp paper towel (use hot water), fold it into squares and sit the cartridge print head (the side with the silver slit where the ink comes out) down onto it. Hold the cartridge down to the damp paper towel for one minute. This will help pull the ink out of the print head, priming it and getting them ready to print. Drag the cartridge across the paper towel a few times so that you see streaks of ink. Install cartridge and try to print a test page.
Please know that the page yield of ink cartridges is the quoted number of printed pages you can expect from one cartridge, as provided by your printer's manufacturer. The yield is an approximation based on 5%-page coverage or prints in which 5% of the page is covered with ink. Meaning, that if you were to only print on 5% of the page, you will receive the full-page yield. If you are printing half to full pages or full-color printer, you can expect the number to decrease by at least half. We hope this information helps.
The setup cartridge that came with the printer kept giving me an error message. After I saw you prime the cartridge by rapping it a bit, I did that and voila! Problem solved. Thanks.
Hi, thanks for the video! Quick question, I noticed the color cartridge said Instant Ink Ready Setup H and the black one did not. I am not enrolled in the Instant Ink program (that I know of, lol) and both of my current cartridges say Instant Ink Ready Setup H. Will a cartridge bought from a store such as Staples or Walmart be compatible and work with my printer (Envy 7855) or do they have to say Instant Ink Ready on them?
You do not need to be enrolled in instant ink in order to use an instant ink set up cartridge. We were not enrolled when we made this video! The set up cartridges are just the starter cartridges that come with your new printer and you should be able to use any cartridge you would like moving forward. Hope this helps!
Hi! I just got a new printer and was having the exact same problem. Once it has paper set and you open it the ink cartridges will automatically move to the left, giving you space to replace them. Hope this helped!
For HP ENVY Photo 7155 All-in-One printer, the compatible ink cartridge is an HP 64XL ink cartridge. If you want to order, we do carry set of 5 - HP 64XL Remanufactured Ink Cartridges - 3 Black & 2 Color that is listed for $113.95. I can't even lift the scanner in order to get to the ink, it only lifts a little and I meet resistance and can't open it any farther. Any ideas what's wrong?
Raise the ink cartridge access door from the side (either right or left, or can use both hands). You can raise the door until you hear the "click" sound. There's a stopper at the end holding this ink access door.
Your HP ENVY Photo 7155 All-in-One printer takes HP 64 Ink Cartridge. Please make sure that you're installing the correct ink in their correct slot. Double check the cartridge to see if there is nothing covering the chip or blocking the sensor in the printer itself and make sure all tabs, clips, tapes have been removed. You also try hard reset: Remove ALL cartridges and turn the printer off. Then unplug the machine from the wall. Let it sit empty and unplugged for about 45 seconds. Take a soft, lint-free cloth and gently wipe the gold colored connection area on the cartridge to ensure a clean connection. Plug the machine back in and turn it on. Then, reinstall the cartridges and try printing a test page. We hope this helps.
Does the printer need to be off to lift the lid? When I try to lift it with the printer on there’s resistance, and a message that says that the lid needs to be down in order to “continue” (printing I assume, but that’s not what I’m trying to do) Edit: also it says that my black ink levels are fine, but when I print stuff on b&w it doesn’t print “fully”/there are white streaks/lines and stuff, anyone know why? I missed placed the ink that came with this printer my husband said if I don’t have the starter ink the printer won’t work not even if I buy new ink, what can I do?
There are some printers that do require that you install the starter cartridge first to set up the printer, but we are not certain if that is the case with this model. I would suggest contacting HP to confirm, you might be fine with just a new set of ink, but it depends on how the printer is configured.
Hi Rita, there may be a recognition issue with that color cartridge. You can try cleaning the gold contact points (dots) on the side of the cartridge with a lint-free cloth and reinstalling. Sometimes dust or finger print oil can get on those contact points and cause a faulty reading on the machine. Hope this helps!!

Try downloading and reinstalling your printer driver: support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-photo-7800-all-in-one-printer-series/9073159/model/16493624. HP has a lengthy document on that specific error, which you can read here: h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Inkjet-Printing/Brand-New-Envy-Photo-7855-Do-not-use-SETUP-cartridges/td-p/6354814. It looks to be a pretty common concern with this printer model. If you are still having trouble, check to see if the printer is still under warranty as it could be defective.
Can you help me please??? I'm getting the same message on my HP Envy 5055 when changing the cartridges. What do I do to fix mine please? Sorry, computer illiterate here...but I can follow directions pretty well....lol
I installed the color and black cartridge and it is sayingto remove the color one and reenstall did this 4 times and no color?
Hi Rita, there may be a recognition issue with that color cartridge. You can try cleaning the gold contact points (dots) on the side of the cartridge with a lint-free cloth and reinstalling. Sometimes dust or finger print oil can get on those contact points and cause a faulty reading on the machine. Hope this helps!!
A inpresora da minha mãe tem esse tipo de tinta
Hi, I installed new ink into my hp envy photo 7155 but it’s printing all in red? What do I do?
Hi Anayeli, We're sorry to hear about the issue you're having with the color cartridge. Given what you’ve described, it sounds like the ink simply isn't coming out through the nozzles properly. We just have to loosen the ink inside the cartridge. First, please get a damp paper towel (use hot water), fold it into squares and sit the cartridge print head (the side with the silver slit where the ink comes out) down onto it. Hold the cartridge down to the damp paper towel for one minute. This will help pull the ink out of the print head, priming it and getting them ready to print. Next, drag the cartridge across the paper towel a few times so that you see streaks of ink. Lastly, install the cartridge and try to print a test page. If issue still persists, you may also contact us through email, chat or call us at 888-321-2552 for immediate assistance, we will certainly be here to help and hope we can make it right with you!
@@Ldproducts It could be that if he is using the mini-cartridges that came with the printer in the original box, they're not good. I had trouble with my HP Photo Envy 7155 until I replaced them with the normal 64 cartridges off the shelf. I came here to make sure I was installing them right and your video was helpful.
Hi Lawrence, We're happy that this video was helpful in installing new cartridges in your printer.
hi i am unable to open the top of my printer ? does printer need to be turn off ...
Hi Anna, which Envy printer do you have?
where is the power button on the hp envy 6032?
The power button is located at back of the printer.
Question I have the same printer and I bought the ink 25. Would this work the same as ink24? Because I’m having problems with the printer and it’s saying “remove and reinstall the indicated cartridge, making sure it’s correctly installed “. Do I have to use the same ink?
Hi Malina, the printer we feature in this video uses the HP 64 ink cartridges and it only works with this cartridge series. It is not interchangeable with any other cartridge number. If you try installing a different cartridge you will get an error because the printer isn't able to accept that part number.
Question please......i've changed both the color and the black cartidges on my HP Envy 5055 and I keep getting a message on the screen of the printer that says to use the "set up" cartridges that came with the printer.....?????? Mine won’t take the new ink says can’t read !!!
Hi, if dust or finger print oil gets on the gold contact points, it can sometimes cause a faulty reading in the printer. To fix this, remove the cartridges from the printer and wipe down the gold contact points (dots) with a lint-free cloth. Then, reinstall the cartridges in the printer and try printing again. Hope this helps!

We appreciate your feedback
Mine won’t center
Try doing a hard reset on the printer: Power it down and unplug it from the wall for about a minute. Then power it back up and turn it back on.
I bought brand new hp cartridges a few months ago, and now I need to print and it won't print. I guess they are STOPPED UP. I CANNOT STAND EQUIPMENT that won't work. I have NEVER TOLERATED that with equipment, not with Farm Equipment, Long Haul TRUCKS, Welding Equipment and so on. But COMPUTERS and the PEOPLE that "work" on them NEVER ARE RELIABLE. These peopel are NOT LICENSED, so there is no AGENCY to compalin to. I am a REAL ESTATE BROKER. If I don't do what I am supposed to do the STATE will take away my licenses. With Computehr people all they have to do is learn to say "GIGABYTE" or "RAM" or a few other words of JARGON and they hit the road charging people. That needs to END.
Somebody tell ol'Eric here to talk to the audience & not the bottom of the trashcan!
