This was such a helpful video! I had to change mine out for the first time and wasn't quite sure how to open the lid. Thank you for the walk through tutorial.
If you have a set of regular cartridges installed and then try to install set up cartridges, they may not work in the printer. This is because the set up cartridges also work to initialize the printer when it's first set up, so if the printer has already been initialized, the set up cartridges likely won't work again. Hope this helps!
You stated that both black cartridges must be in place for the printer to functiion. My color carts are empty and, while I have no problem with printing black andl white, I can't get the printer wo work with new black carts only. What am I doing wrong?
This was helpful but he open the new cartridge wrong .I did it his way 3 times got ink on me the last 2 time I did it the right way no ink on me. Your supposed to remove the tape off the vent hole first then remove the orange plastic clip. That's the way it show on the clear plastic cover seal around the new cartridge.
Never one to follow all the directions, I had to clean blue ink from the floor before I followed your advice and performed the balance of cartridge replacements with a wastebasket at the ready.
Thanks...That was helpful. Although I will say, to The printer gawds....My Canon TR 8600 is the worst, most annoying, least reliable printer I have ever owned. Just say-in!

How do you close the latch? Mine is stuck open
My canon comes with tubes, how do I replace the ink?
Thanks for sharing...can I replace cartridges with “setup” cartridges?

Hi there, all of the cartridges need to be installed for the printer to work. If you removed the empty color cartridges, it won't function.
When I did that 3rd step at ~ 2:49, I got ink all over my hands. It's never done that in the past.
Very helpful video; thanks for posting it! 8-)
Glad it was helpful!
