The sunset is quite beautiful as you are standing and waiting to go inside. Once inside and hearing Vincent Price speak is quite chilling. One of my favorite actors
Far less effective than Paul Frees however. Vincent’s delivery is flat and bland in comparison.
Phantom Manor is the elegant old world spin on the Haunted Mansion that takes itself with a little bit more sincerity. The Haunted Mansion is great but phantom Manor is like a dark fairy tale . I adore it.
Haw haw! how do you explain the old west setting then
The manor looks like the Addams family house, don't you think?
1:11 The twisted trees with the dark blue sky in background gives off such a creepy vibe it's so awesome 👍 🦇
Every night over and over again, when it becomes dark and everyone is heading for main street, this is a great picture place.. (with the phatom in the window not to miss)
Agreed those were some good shots!
@@gertsmeekes Was the phantom in the window visible in this video?
@@rkbkirin5975dont know for shure, its a timing thing
That ride staff member at the beginning is perfect for Phantom Manor!xx
Amazing how so few people are riding that. I can't imagine the ride being that vacant at Disneyland California.
Basically walked right on when we were at Disneyland California, middle of August, early afternoon and there was like 1 group ahead of us…i remember because I had a front of the line pass(it was my make-a-wish trip) and didn’t have to use it…so it may be rare but it does happen!!
Modern audiences are easily frightened. This is far too scary for most. Jungle cruise is more their style.
When I went to this ride back in 2006, i got on easily like 4 times in a row....
I will never get over the loss of the original portraits in the foyer and stretching room. They were beautiful and haunting. The newer ones don't even look like real antique paintings from the victorian era, they look like gritty over shaded fan art from tumblr. The loss of the Melanie animatronic in the first turn into the hallway is yet another thing I mourn so deeply.
As French. I rode the Original Phantom Manor so many times since I was kid. And I agree The 1992 was far more darker but it was piched black through the ride. Not every in rooms.
Love the cast member at the door! BONSOIR!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’d love to see Disney do a movie solely on Phantom Manor since it has a totally darker story then to that of the Haunted Mansion. There’s alot of material in this ride they can work with for a Phantom Manor film. 👍🤩
Couldn't agree more. "Phantom Manor" Backstory is more interesting and intriguing at the same Time.
The storytelling itself takes place in the Far Wild West.
I really hope Disney will make a movie of our French Haunted Mansion which connects to Big Thunder Mountain and Thunder Mesa Town. Yep the whole Frontierland is connected with them
Since Del Toro didn't do the Haunted Mansion, he definetly should do Phantom Manor!
When I saw the Haunted Mansion movie I was hoping for an end of credits scene, where it pans up to Phantom Manor
Disney’s first non-marvel R-rated film XD
the new haunted mansion movie was supposed to be based on the phantom manor, you can tell because the ending remake of grim grinning ghosts has a southern/western twang to it
The last I’ve ridden this ride was 2005 and hadn’t kept up with any news of changes to the attraction… until I saw this video out of random curiosity! I can’t believe the changes they’ve made namely the swap of the Phantom at the end of the ride where I distinctly remember him looking much more horrifying and disturbing (like rotting flesh with eyeballs) and of course the bride soon after being nothing but a skeleton pointing to the mirrors. It left a haunting message at the end of the ride about the obsession of love and longing festering someone to the point of wasting their life until death.
Well-put, I noticed those two changes and was immediately wondering if it was perhaps to tone down the horror.
@@Perrygallo even if it was toned down I'll say that this ride is still darker compared to the Haunted Mansion.
I visited Disneyland Paris last month and Phantom Manor was my favorite ride there. Such a beautiful and haunting concept. I felt it has a much better and creepier story than Haunted Mansion in Disneyland & WDW
Did u understand the story even though it seems they tell it in french?
I if you so not understand the story, I could tell you what it is :)@@karol72474
they tell it in english aswell@@karol72474
That's it!! Next vaca.. PARIS.
Omg i love Paris! I wanna go to Disney there sooo bad 😢😢 i miss Paris
This new version is beautiful but is missing the melancholy and mystery of the old one. And Melanie saying "Marry me!" straight up sounds like she's evil, which she isn't originally. Still my favorite ride though.
The backstory for this Haunted Mansion is profoundly sad. It makes for a compelling ride!
Can you share it? I don't speak french but this looks amazing.
@@Blundabus1337 Basically there are two stories, but you can combine them. The Ravenswood family founded the town of Thunder Mesa, a booming mining town. They had a daughter named Melanie Ravenswood. She grew to be beautiful attracting the hand of many suitors. (5 if you combine the stories) the last of which was the owner of the Thunder mountain railroad.(Jake?) The father Henry Ravenswood didn't think any of the suitors were worthy of her hand in marriage so he opposed the weddings. An earthquake in 1860 killed The elder Ravenswoods. One problem, the native americans warned of an evil spirit on "Boot Hill" where they built the manor. The "Thunder Bird". The angry spirit of the thunder bird may have caused the quake that shattered the town as well as possessing Henry Ravenswood. Jake tried to marry Melanie but was lured into the attic by the now malevolent spirit of Henry aka "the phantom" and hung him on their wedding night. after that day Melanie sang mournful wedding tunes the rest of her life. Depending on which version you subscribe to she aged until death and saves visitors of the manor by warding her father away with her own power.(Her corpse found at the end of the ride) In the new ending, she remains the same age in ghostly form and seems to have been corrupted now laughing maniacally like the phantom. (Her suitors in 4 graves at the end of the ride with no Jake) She always wears her wedding dress.
That's what I got out of it.
Frontierland in France represent the town of Thunder Mesa. The mayor, Henri Ravenswood wanted to search for gold in the mines of Big Thunder Mountain. But the mountain was protected by a divinity. Henri, his wife and the men who worked with him in the mines were k!lled by a giant thunder bolt. Melanie, Ravenswood's daughter who was just heart broken after her fiancée left her at the aultel locked herself in the family mansion. She d!ed of her own sadness. Then, the manor was abandoned and villagers spread the rumour that Melanie's spirit haunt the hall of the manor, waiting for a new person to marry.
Sorry if it's not clear, english is not my first language but, hope this helped anyway 😊
@@nicoislost258 a very great summary indeed and you added some things I left out!! Cheers!
@@tentons10 Henry getting possessed seems like the missing link I've been looking for. I searched the story on the haunted mansion wiki but it seems like there's not enough information so I was wondering how the heck did someone like him ended up being evil because he only seemed like a strict father but not evil. It's like a 180 personality change
Damn, no lines! That already makes that park way better.
Le mec de l’accueil fzit son taf à la perfection sérieux 😮
One of the BEST and most phantasmagoric rides in Disneyland, absolutely amazing and wonderful 😱🎃👻💀
All time fave ride ever. Id love a home like this too its just perfect 😍😍😍
My favorite haunted mansion!
I remember at Haunted Mansion in Orlando, a cast member put up a sign signaling the end of the line for the ride, and he was so good at acting like a ghost that for a second I thought he was one.
I love how the guy wagged his finger at the mirror part when the ghost lady went "marry me" that was funny as hell lol
Wonderful video and great exterior shots!
I did wonder why there was a Western ghost town under the manor but it is next to Big Thunder Mountain/Frontierland and the Boot Hill sign when you leave makes it clear they meant to show the manor must have built over a ghost town. Very neat!
The story of both rides are actually connected as the Phantom is the spirit of the Owner of the mining company from Big Thunder and an earthquake hit that caused the town to be buried.
@@dustyfedora That is cool how they have that interconnected story between the areas of the park!
Part of it was also an opportunity for the Imagineers to dust off the old plans they had for the abandoned Western River Expedition that Disney World Orlando was supposed to get.
I'm sitting here at my desk imagining I'm at Disneyland Paris & in the que to go on this ride. It's a fabulous but creepy sunset & I can't wait for my turn to board!!❤
Very different from the USA versions how cool ❤
12:18 You killed me when you said "no marry" to ghost bride 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
If it wasn't for the Haunted Mansion Holiday in japan, Phantom Manor would have to be the best Haunted Mansion of all.
It’s nice that Vincent Price was the ghost toes. I wish it would be interested if professor Ratigan was behind this.
bonjour. this is my first ever time catching a view of what the infamous 'Phantom Manor' is like. it's even scarier than I thought it'd be... I LOVE IT!
I love the young girls being scared in the beginning, this haunted chateau definitely brings more fear than either of the mansions do. The phantom is so scary!
I should say this version is more impressive than the US one. The entrance is majestic and creepy, I love it. Thought it needs some modernisation in some parts (the fat west part mostly). One of my favorite theme attraction.
The Disneyland Haunted Mansion is really beautiful, I think. And it’s gorgeous at Halloween.
Amazing video! I love this ride so much 💜💜💜
This ride is single handedly making me want to go to disneyland paris lol....
I loooove Haunted Mansion so much, Phantom Manor is beautiful!
It's interesting that they went with the ghost town / Western theme at the end, instead of just the graveyard. I'm curious how that fits into the narrative.
Europeans love the american west
The phantom manor in the story was built near the thunder mesa. So the western ghosts make sense
That ride is gorgeous!
What a wonderful score that one has!
2:31 that view is so pretty!
Damn, why didn't i go in this, i thought waiting for this is such a waste off time, but the technique used in this attraction is beautiful!
Don't worry, there's always room for one more 😛
I really want to travel to Paris to experience this ride
This is my favorite, darker version of HM. There should be a movie centered around it but keep that dark and sinister vibe to it
Superbe vidéo 👍, superbe qualité 👍 Merci
Slt le ou la fr cv ? 😂
Beautifully done, DLP!
You really let the experience do all the talking.
A master class in minimalism…
Great work, thanks!
I loved Phantom Manor!
11:55 Warning, attraction evokes death. 😆 Great low-light footage. 💖
Very well filmed
Le film est vraiment pas mal, je l'ai vu ce soir en 4DX et on est bien plongé dans l'univers de Phantom Manor US :)
Wow, that was really cool.
Magnifique vidéo ! J'adore cette attraction, je vais me plonger dans la lecture du livre "l'attraction décryptée" avant daller voir le film cette semaine ✨💜
Wonderful video of a truly unique ride 👏 ❤💀
This is one of my favorite rides at Disneyland Paris.
7:14 THIS is what Disneyland needs to do in their HM Load Area.
this video is brand new right as i search for a ride video! wonderful!
2:28 so beautiful at night😔
Miss there, cant believe it’s nearly 2 weeks since we left.
Looking to go back real soon
I love this ride!!!
I was there a few months ago and i loved the ride with the new designs. 😍
J'ai hâte de voir le film
Bucket list! I want to go here and Tokyo!
Thanks for that...I've only been to the one at Disney World, and it's nice that this one is different.
Oh thank you so much for bringing me back to that ride- it was my favourite as a kid
Excellent quality work. Now I don't have to go to see it!
Merci j'ai eu l'impression d'y être ! Ma dernière incursion dans mon attraction favorite de Disneyland remonte à 2017, l'attraction a été rafraichie depuis mais en restant la même !
Very cool! Merci beaucoup!!!!
Why does Disney Paris look empty? Especially that ride. It’s kinda sad
This would be a dream come true❤❤❤❤
Beautiful work
I was there yesterday! Such an amazing ride with such an amazing scenario
Great video coverage.
Beautifully done. Love the bride at the top of the stairs in loading zone
Question, in the ballroom and in the mirror at 10:19, there seems to be a ghost constantly behind the bride.
What's the story around that? I don't speak french.
It's the phantom. He's the one who killed her husbands (or just her one husband in the original version) and trapped her there. I believe he's supposed to be her father.
i love this ride.
i love this ride.
@@pedrocampos691 yay
Fantastic! The exterior reminds me of Bates motel house. Not as crowded on the inside as Disney, Anaheim Haunted Mansion.
Love seeing the cast members occasionally scaring guests
That’s Vincent price that guy that’s featured in thriller the album by Michael jackson.
Nice filming!
I wish there was something like this in Louisiana. It would fit right in especially with the graveyard part
Vincent is a legend
The wind on the bride works !!!
Awesome video
Nice.
Letteralmente folgorato da questa attrazione spaventosa romantica triste,il top
DAMN! Is EVERYTHING better in Paris?!?! Time for a vaca
Great video - where is everyone????
Thanks 4 sharing this video with me . This is one of my favorites rides. I thought this ride was a blast watching on U tube.✌️✌️✌️💜💜😊❤️❤️this is so unique.✌️✌️✌️✌️❤️🔥❤️🔥💯❤️🔥💜🙂❤️❤️❤️😊💟💟💟💞💞💞 13:52
I truly cannot believe how short this line is!
someday I want to travel around the world, visiting every Disneyland
Is Disneyland in Paris usually this dead and slow? Disneyland in Anaheim is constantly busy every single day. What month did you guys go for it to be this dead without a line?
Oh wow what a beautful shot at 2:30
I’d like to see:
-The best of HM Paris added to America’s mansions
-Same for Shanghai’s Pirates
-Update the sites on Jungle Cruise ride, maybe some characters from The jungle Book
This is great. Like the Pirates in Shanghai, if you haven’t seen it there are many TH-cam clips.
I want to go to there
While I love Anaheims HM, this version is amazing
I never thought Disneyland could be so empty. It looks like it’ll be closing any day soon.
En général, les temps d’attente sont assez courts à Phantom Manor. C’est l’une des zones les moins fréquentées du parc, mais ça correspond à l’ambiance ;)
Don’t worry, the park is sold out at the moment
This is Disneyland Paris.
Spooky.
This is a stunning POV! Could I ask what camera you used to film this please?
Yo quisiera saber que epoca del año es ,, se ve muy poquita gente y yo cuando he ido estaba hasta los topes!!
My fave 🥰
Beautiful inclusion of the evening sky.
Oh wow! Phantom Manor is very interesting! I'm super curious about its lore, I loved everything on it
I think phantom manor may be my favourite ride ever which is impressive Since i typically go for roller coasters but phantom manor has a excellent creepy but not to scary atmosphere i value atmosphere more than anything else with a ride i often joke phantom manor is the champagne of ghost trains
I liked the ghost town. It looks like a rather high spirited place.
That is way scarier than DL and DW!
In the stretching room inside the Phantom Manor at Disneyland Resort Paris, where did Melanie Ravenswood go? Where'd she go?
