Went on this 'alone' after my friends refused during a school trip looooong time ago and ended up being basically adopted by a lovely German family (mum, dad and son a bit younger than me) who went on 6 more rides with me before I finally found my group again - wish I'd kept in touch I've got 2 photos

I ended up randomly meeting a now friend after I rode a ride with her as a stranger. Years later we met in a FB group and we realized we knew each other from that ride! She had a picture of me, because she bought the ride picture. I hope you find them!

So glad the ballroom is back to the ethereal horror it was before, while all the other HM's have a macabre humor to them, PM is meant to be more of a genuinely creepy and frightening experience. And the ballroom with Melanie's eerie singing gives that off the best.

I feel like the attic afterwards where she’s crying is melancholic but beautifully eerie at the same time

Whoever are the responsible cast members for this video I'd like to thank you very much. The quality and high-resolution showed off a lot of detail I was not aware of. As a former Haunted Mansion cast member at Disneyland I can see and hear many of the sound effects and visual references from our mansion. I hope your happy with the new version. And I'm happy to hear the original soundtrack return to its proper locations. Other than what sounded like audio issues in the ghost town the video was very well done. Congratulations!
I am assuming that whoever recorded this had to make slight alterations to the audio in the ghost town to avoid copyright infringement.

I am very happy that the attraction still uses Vincent Price's voice and laugh. One of the most famous voices and personalities in America.
I’m kinda jealous of Phantom Manor getting Vincent Price’s voice and laugh tbh! I wish his voice and laugh had been used in Haunted Mansion in Disneyland and Walt Disney World!
Actually it removed Vincent’s speech shortly after it opened in 1992, and then brought it back for the refurb in 2019.

The 'double-take' that the Phantom does at 16:05 is one of the most brilliant things I've seen an animatronic do! Love it.

While personally my favorite will always be the Disney world haunted mansion, this blew me away! The music is amazing and I like how the bride appears a lot. Also they definitely made the graveyard scene a lot scarier. Wow! Europeans are fortunate to have this! Thank God for good cameras.

If you want to feel like you’re at Disney, go to Resort TV 1. Josh and Jenna are doing lots of virtual live streams . You feel like you’re on the rides and fireworks etc. we can all chat during the stream. It’s been great for me.

Ayant déjà travaillé dans un autre parc avec un clone de cet attraction, c'est fun de rentrer, d'allumer toutes les lumières pour préparer l'attraction au public. Mais une fois le bouton "ON" enclanché, on fait la journée, puis au moment de fermer l'attraction, c'est la le plus dur à faire parce qu'on finit avec un noir total et une musique lugubre qui résonne dans la tête lol

They should keep this pace for all tours. There's so much detail that one doesn't see at normal speed.
For someone who is totally blind, this is a real treat! I wonder if you have to be a Disney Vacation Club member to get to do this longer version? I'm not a member, and I so want to go back to France. I miss it so much, and I need to visit to see if I can afford to live there, as transportation and health care is so much better over there. We've lost it over here in the Southern U.S. I grew up in the 70s and 80s, and blind people actually had a future back then. Now, we don't have much of one, and services here in Atlanta are practically nonexistent if you're an older adult. It's a crying shame!
Very reminiscent of Phantom of the Opera. The female voice especially reminds me of Christine Daee. Very nice ride. I would like to see DW updated.

Yeah, i've always wondered why people talk through the ride. And then i think, well, maybe what they are saying is pretty important. But then you overhear what they are saying,
and it's just the most inane conversation or comments.

God it's frustrating when people ruin the atmosphere, and stop you being able to hear things, when they can't shut up for a brief ride. It's like the jerks who talk loudly though theatre performances. It's just rude. If it's important then lean in and whisper to the person

having the ride to yourself seems far more creepy, mysterious, intimate in a way. it's like what the Phantom Manor was intended for.
The rides already pretty creepy, but riding by your self must make it worse or better depending on your preferences.
Okay... I love how it's got so much Haunted Mansion flavor while also being it's own thing... like this is why I'm such a nut for all the variations, they all have their own unique flair. I really, really want to ride this for myself one day...
I am SO jealous of Paris Disneyland! I'm used the regular Haunted Mansion at Disneyland, which is great and all, but has no backstory to it. It's not something you can get "invested" in when you're on it. But THIS... this is so damn cool! I learned about the story of the Manor and its connection to Big Thunder Railroad through another video, so I had to look up the actual ride. I'm so impressed! The story is engaging and it's great you can point to characters and locations you recognize from the story throughout the ride. It makes it more immersive and interactive in a way. I love that. With the Haunted Mansion, the only immersion you ever feel is being on the grounds of a... haunted mansion. It's not a bad thing, of course. It's just not something that has a backstory you can connect with. Man, I love the Phantom Manor! Hope I can go on it someday. :D
It's also great that both of the rides are so close to each other, so the immersion is even more apparent for those who ride either. It's just such a brilliant layout decision, I can't even wrap my head around it right now, lol. Hats off to design and layout teams who originally worked on these rides!
Personally, I’m still in love with the Disney world version since that’s what I rode first but I totally get what your saying! I read the story for this ride and wow I’m blown away!
haunted mansion at disneyland does have its own backstory! i recommend checking out @ughsarah on tiktok, she has some really cool videos on it!
@@pennyvivian I did see vids regarding a backstory that the Haunted Mansion used to have when it first opened, then later scraped. I heard they might be bringing back the story with a few changes. And I'm only speaking of the Disneyland version in California. I know different parks have different layouts and ideas for their rides.
It's a fun experience if you're in France. Everything is just a different enough to seem new
I still like the one in California and Orlando, more. I like the variety, and it has more gags. This is just like a stripped down version.
The pacing and the emptiness of the ride enhance the ride so much. It’s just so spooky! And wonderfully delightful!
I'm so happy that Disneyland Paris listened to the guests reactions and changed the ballroom organ music back to the original version

As iconic as the ballroom music is for the Haunted Mansion, I'm really glad it reverted to the original soundtrack for Phantom Manor. PM has it's own vision and atmosphere, adding the HM music just break immersion all together.
Okay. We want to say this is the best version of The Haunted Mansion. You got to go on Phantom Manor by yourself without any other guests. We love it. When you are down with the doom buggies and the bride is standing on top of the stairs telling everyone to remain seated and the party will commence. But the music sounds a bit too loud. When you were looking at all the paintings in the hallway. You missed the painting of Melanie. The way the ride looks without anyone looks abandoned mansion with no one inside. We love the music from Phantom Manor. We think it is amazing. John Debney is amazing. We think everyone likes the architecture from the ride. The way it is designed to hold up so many things. We mean look at those big red curtains hanging on the window up near the bride at the loading area. Must have taken days weeks or months to create a curtain like that. Amazing. Phantom Manor is the best out of The Haunted Mansion. It just has good backstory on what happened in the house. Thanks for uploading this. MP23 Studios Orchestra

This is the best footage of the refurb so far! The slow moving doom buggies, and the awesome low light allows us to find all sorts of newly added details. I'm still a little irked about how obvious it is when the Vincent Price impersonator comes in during the narration
That wasn't a Vincent Price impersonator, that was Vincent Price. I doubt anyone would impersonate his haggard voice from the end of his life.
Wow - without all the talking this is amazing. They should have a silent hour or two at all of the HM versions, especially Disneyland and World - it makes all the difference.

The thing that's always confused me about this ride's audio is that it goes back and forth between French and English, but not to translate. They both say completely different things. 🤔😂

Beautiful video and probably the closest I will ever get to Phantom Manor. I once rode the Disneyland Haunted Mansion at 2:00 AM with a party of 4 people. It's a much different Mansion when your alone and everyone stays quiet.
This is the best ride through video I have seen. It feels like a personal VIP experience without anyone else ruining it!

This ride was always my favorite at Disney world in Florida but seeing this phantom manor in Paris looks really cool, LOVE IT ! I could not stop watching, I almost want to watch again and probably will soon. Good job filming this !!! Thanks for that ! Makes me really want to see this in Paris also.

I came to disney when I was 4, and my parents brought me into this ride as a joke. I cried and closed my eyes the whole time!!
No matter how many times I watch this, when the narration comes I can only hear Professor Ratigan.
For Vincent Price to be the Ghost Host of this attraction, that's an honor. Since he did voice the villainous Professor Ratigan in Great Mouse Detective back in 1986, this is a good way to honor his legacy under Disney.
This is something I never would have experienced in person because of physical and health issues as well as I never would have enough money to go to any Disney amusement park. I want to cry because you've made me so happy to be able to see this!
I like that its a different experience. The Haunted Mansion is with the lady as the main villainous and this one is about the phantom. So it gave a super creepy vibe. That's so cool.
Part of the reason I like this so much is because originally the Bride in the Attic _wasn't_ a villainess, she was just an unhappy ghost. I like how this ride doubles-down on that original character and idea -- and it also explains how the original "Hatbox Ghost" knew the Bride. So it expands on the original ride in a way that feels "truer" to me somehow :) (Also I'm a big Phantom of the Opera fan, so "ghost claiming to be your dad, just won't let a girl live her life" really speaks to me, lol)
Very cool! I remember the ride being pretty much the same as the Haunted Mansion except for the odd "Wild West" part when I rode it in 2017. If anything, the funny "Grim Grinning Ghosts" heads and the song throw off the experience now, as you go from creepy to haunting to silly to creepy again.
I wanna say that I love the exterior of ever mansion! From Tokyo to California oh how I envy those Imaginetiers who got to think of all of this! What a concept team what minds!
Now I _REALLY_ want to see Disneyland Paris, and especially go on this ride! Katherine Lench Meyering has some great pipes in her.

This is by far better the superior version- so much was improved, especially the lighting! However, one very questionable decision was the ballroom scene with a static phantom figure just plain as day, out there in the open behind the Melanie animatronic. Like... the original scene was so much better and mysterious. WHO'S DECISION WAS THIS?

I love watching Disney ride POVS and I def will be watching your channel way more because the quality is AMAZING. As a fellow Disney fan I have already been to Disneyland and Disneyworld, and now my next trip is to Disneyland Paris and I’m so excited :)

this ride is just the right amount of spooky and the music (i especially love the scene where the ballroom scene and when the bride was looking at herself in the mirror while singing and you can hear her voice crystal clear UGH) just adds the vibe even more it's PERFECT

Vincent actually only ever recorded the English dialogue for the ride and several minutes of laughter (for The Phantom). The French you hear afterwards is another actor by the name of Gérard Chevalier, who did French dubs of Vincent Price roles in movies before so he was a great choice. They had Vincent try and do the French dialogue when he was first approached for the ride but even after multiple takes they weren't liking how it sounded and so Gérard was brought in :)

I was thinking this was slow and somewhat boring, but it got considerably better towards the end when it descended into a world of skeletons.
It can be boring but i love the music at the loading station and the laughing guy at the end

Definitely improved since I visited it some years ago. Vincent Price is at last doing narration, which had been recorder, but was discarded early on. I also love having the four grooms, who meet their demise, in the stretch gallery, where the bride disappears just before the paintings begin to stretch, over Melanie suffering four fates. I honestly prefer this redo, to what happened in Disneyland, where they made the Mansion about Constance. I love the architecture of the Florida and Tokyo versions, and I grew up with the original in Anaheim, but being a fan of 2nd Empire Victorian architecture, Phantom Manor is my favorite of the Haunted Mansions.
haha once i was at disneyland paris and i got absolutely horrified when i saw the lights in one of the windows flicker (i was outside) and i saw a figure, i then remebered the ride is constantly stopping and starting and it was an animatronic. I remember my family saying how funny my face was 😂

Alan Menken should be writing the next Phantom Manor story, this was lovely to watch, but imagine not only Alan Menken but Guillermo del Toro guiding each story become the film we needed.

Very good, clear video. Much better than one I did back in 2011. The changes look pretty good. Bringing back the original Vincent Price audio is very welcomed and I'm glad they didn't change the music.

Managed to go on this entirely alone the other week right before park closing. So it was dark, the beautiful lights were on and I got to soak in the ambience. I’d 100% recommend missing the fireworks one evening to get on this alone. Also went up to Boot Hill graveyard alone and watched a bit of the fireworks in the distance until they closed the area. 10/10 spooky vibes.
So beautifull and the new stretch portraits so wonderfull.
My other half and I were fortunate enough to ride Phantom Manor just the two of us on our last trip. It was getting towards closing time and the fireworks were about to start, but the cast member ominously said “This is you for you...” and closed the doors. Definitely more eerie when it’s just the two of you! So cool!
I’m going here in November and want to know what to expect! We can’t wait!
