I absolutely love that performance of "Cool Jerk"', a song that usually leaves me cold. I'd never seen it before. Thanks for posting the entire concert !
"Head Over Heels" is one of their best songs ever. I'm surprised they would open with that song and not save it towards the middle or end of the concert. Reason being you want to build up to your better songs to keep the anticipation and excitement of the crowd going.
I begged my mom and she escorted me to this concert at The Greek, I was 14. Lifelong GOGO"S fan here.....Im like, oh my god, like totally trippin watching this dude....Tubular!
The intro with "Special Presentation" is before my time, but so cool to see. I can't believe this was before I was even born. Belinda was so beautiful. Wish we all stayed young forever :(
Every one of these talented and very pretty ladies deserve to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this is an honor that is long overdue for this great group
1984 - my senior year/graduation. Listened to them my whole time in high school up to today (2020). Have one of their CDs in my car now - can't get enough of them. Someone needs to take this concert, remaster it and slap it on a CD!!! Thanks for the upload =)
Great to see this footage of the wonderful Go-Gos ! .. Despite the girls battling drug addictions, being on almost toxic terms with each other, and on the verge of a break up, they still managed to put on an entertaining and energetic show .. Loved the performance of my favourite song of theirs, "Yes Or No" .. Thanks, Wayne
saw the documentary film about them a couple of days ago and it led me here ..... how good are they live !!!! mind you , our lips are sealed has always been in my top 20 favourite tunes so i shouldn't be surprised i suppose . sexy as f*** too !!!
I just discovered them last year. They're epic. Belinda is so fucking perfect. Google her Roxy concert here on TH-cam it's from 1986. You'll be in love
I am so sad I never was unable to see these wonderful ladies perform in person. I was in the USMC at the time and did see many concerts but, I regret not seeing theses beautiful talents perform!
I had to come by for another viewing haha I remember how pumped I was when you said you were gonna get your VHS recording converted to a movie file. Now that little videotape of yours has been viewed nearly 30,000 times so far 🤙Pretty crazy if ya think about it
We Got the Beat, I love how Charlotte played almost straight 16s in the verse kind of like she did in the 1980 Urgh! live version. Almost every other live take I've seen the guitars play more of a staccato style. I like this version same with Urgh because it makes them sound a little closer to their punk early beginnings!
@@PeaceHumorMusic Awesome! This is great, even has the old Cinemax intro at the beginning. Did you remember you had it or did you just stumble across it one day?
Induct these talented musicians into the ROCK AND HALL OF FAME!! Only ALL Female Band, Song writers, paved the the way for punk bands like "Greenday" & Avril Levine No Doubt. First & Only all Female band to have #1 Album!! 🎵❤ Nominate for Kennedy Center Honors!! Weren't even listed in Top 40 Punk Bands by Rolling Stone Magazine. Sinful!
I still have my original VHS copy of WIld At The Greek (I also was in attendance in one of the three nights in August 1984 when filming of the concerts took place). Do you know the reason Cool Jerk was omitted from the home video?
Just had to come rewatch your REAL version of this concert..It does bother me that somewhere buried in the Cinemax archives is the 4 or 5 other songs from the set. Not to mention, there's actually 2 seperate full shows since this special was edited from clips over the 2 nights. Notice how Belinda goes back and forth from wearing heels to being barefoot haha
@@PeaceHumorMusic ah I didn't even notice that! As usual, 99% of my attention was focused on Belinda. Have you seen the video for Yes or No? Apparently that was filmed the same day as night 1 of the concerts. Didnt even need a wardrobe change haha
LOVED it. Shame it couldn't have been cleaned up a little more when digitising. Such a pity we didn't have "HD" back when we had bands like this. Best moment for me was 48:10 - LOL

"Head over Heels" is WAY better in the Central Park show. I'm not sure what it is with 80's keyboards, but it always used to sound like Charlotte was playing with an arpeggiator instead of doing that awesome piano groove on her own. It does NOT sound like that in the Central Park show; it sounds all natural.
And they were not getting along. Jane was months from leaving the band. But once they got on stage they were able to leave that shite behind them and do the show. What they called "Robo - go going."
Even though they are playing at the corporate Greek Theater they at least seem to have some of their old punk composure, not at all like you can see on the clip of their Central Park show with hairstylists, make-up artists, costumers. Where were they in the Masque days, and all of us original fans, which made this band!?!
Oh, please! They left the punk scene and ethos behind the second they signed with a major corporate label. Which is great, they then developed into what they were always meant to be-a world class, excellent pop/rock group.

True.
I saw them that year on Belinda’s birthday at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado.

Such pure rock/pop.

...Thank you soooooooo very much for posting this classic Go-Go's concert!!... 🤗🤩🎶
It's amazing we went from Happy '80s pop to dark grunge & angst less than a decade after this was filmed.
They have a dark feel in some of these songs, both lyrically and musically.... Makes me like them even more.
And the guitars went into the hands of sloppy geeks.
Tell me about it. Dark grunge and rap plunged America into hell.
so cool. I wasn't aware we had cinemax back in 84. But I was listening to this cassette over and over driving around as a seventeen-year-old.
