    Your latest vlog popped up tonight. We hope you are both well. It’s good to see you still have plans to visit France and to possibly retire to France as well someday. We hope you enjoy your upcoming trip. A couple of suggestions to visit if you have not already done so are Le Bon Marche and Le Grand Epiciere de Paris in St Germain. We also love visiting Marché biologique Raspail on a Sunday morning; we always grab something lovely and then walk across to the Jardin du Luxembourg to eat it. Sunday morning in the gardens watching Paris life is about as good as it gets. Maria e Rowan

    a great museum to visit in Paris - the Musée Marmottan, the world’s largest collection of paintings by Monet - without the crowds of the Orsay!
    and a restaurant to try (and get the chocolate mousse for dessert) - Chez Janou (near the Place Des Vosges)

    @lindadorman2869 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

    Filming is important because after you’ve been to lots of places, and time passes, it’s easy to forget what you’ve seen. As a chef and eternal foodie, I’d love to see more local markets, food halls, grocery stores. Restaurants are great, but when you live there, you will spend more time shopping and cooking your own food. When I was in France, I discovered many foods and flavor combinations not found in the US.

    Living in the area of Nice has many advantages... especially the climat. High number of sunny days in this region allow many lunches on terraces of bistros and restaurants throughout the year. In winter though several of the beach restos are closing down (waves are getting bigger etc).... Evën smaller towns have their veggie market.
    Cultural events from Menton to Cannes cost far less compared to Paris. In summer several events are free to attend.
    Consider reading "The Connexion", an English publication (one can subscribe)... giving general info on France. The quality of life in this region is exceptional.

As for Paris, if you haven’t already, how about filming in the Jardin de Luxembourg or at the Pantheon. I’m like you two, I love both Paris and Nice but Paris just takes it as my favourite.

      Tony used to work in the restaurant industry selling restaurant franchises and ultimately owned his own chain called Juicy Lucys. When he stopped drinking he knew the restaurant industry would not be a conducive environment to maintain his sobriety. So, he went back to school and became a therapist and, coupled with his business background, he ultimately took over the operation of the treatment center where he, himself, went for treatment 😊🙏❤️ We have a members-only video about his last day working there (at the treatment center) prior to our move to France. It's a pretty interesting and unique story.

    Y'all keep doing what you're doing. I do the same; film & take loads of pics. When I went to Paris, I visited the Musee d'Orsay. I took pics out the windows of the Musee. I was distraught after the trip because I never made it to Sacré Coeur. One day, I was looking at my pics. I noticed when I snapped a pic out of one of those windows, I captured Sacré Coeur in the background. It warmed my heart. ❤😊

The logistics are where to keep the full-time residence. Nice or Paris? You'll probably be there full-time before us, so you'll have to keep us posted.

      @@kjandtonylovefrance Hello explorers! No we have not but will for sure. So far there is some division among the family. I love Nice because EVERYTHING is a walk away. Done with all that driving. But the wife would like a little more green for our youngest. So we are seeing potentially a 2nd home maybe an hour or 2 away as an agreement. I like my oldest can walk to school and smaller is also near hers.
      We plan on leasing a car and exploring the next few years all the beautiful villages nearby. We really like how close we are also to Italy. Planning a couple of days near Liguria in October, and a wedding for a cousin in Barcelona. So all this we can do by car.
      Would love to know what villages or city you decide to settle in. But I also see whatever place it is , we all need to get our American fix in yearly.
      We are still holding on to our FL property , and see how things are in 4 years. Have a great day!

    We have been to the Petite Cafe de Paris a number of times. I used to get my hair done at a hair salon nearby, so it was a convenient place to go for lunch and they used to have a seafood salad that was fabulous. After we saw the piano player in your last video, we did ask when "he" would be playing again. First, the person we asked (who, we noticed was the guy in your last video) didn't want to answer, and then finally said, "next weekend". So we returned the next weekend. No piano player. We asked the woman who seated us. She said, "no piano player". Maybe next month. The guy who was playing in your video is there everytime we go there. I got the impression if he isn't the owner, he's the manager. I think maybe it was a one off when you saw him. They don't seem to want to talk about the piano player. We stopped asking and decided to stop going there, actually. The time we went there before last, we had the best steak we had found anywhere in Nice. So we returned about a week ago and ordered the steak again. This time, it wasn't very good--actually too tough and chewy like a lot of the steaks we have had in Nice, unfortunately. We're back to searching for the perfect steaks. And they no longer have the seafood salad that I loved. We have decided that, for us, it's off our list of favs. Perhaps next time you're there, they will play the piano for YOU We didn't recognize the restaurant food from the next place you showed. Many places in Nice offer charcuterie boards that look pretty close to that. We look forward to learning where it's from. We rarely order charcuterie boards out, but are always open to checking out new restaurants. Sorry we'll miss you in Paris on your next trip. We're here now but will probably be back in Nice before you arrive. Safe travels... ♥

      Hi An & Jeff! Yes, it can be a hit or miss experience. We are familiar with the gentleman you are referring to that is always there. I do think he is the manager, as opposed to the owner. I believe we've seen the owner there several times as well, but it is not the gentleman in the video. As for the charcuterie board and the avocado toast, that was the Hobo Cafe. We love sitting outside and people watching on a Sunday afternoon, and their food is really good.
      I see that you are in Paris now to celebrate your birthday. Happy Birthday!! I hope you enjoy every minute and look forward to the photos and videos. Yes, I'm sure we will be down in Nice again and we will definitely have to get together since we are still deciding whether our full-time residence will be in Nice and then travel to Paris, like you are doing OR in Paris and then travel down South. We keep flip-flopping back and forth and now are in the buy in Nice and rent in Paris for a month at a time during our favorite times of the year, like you are doing.
      Thanks for your videos and paving the way for us and others seeking to do the same ❤️❤️❤️
