    1. My Anycubic Wash & Cure station washes just fine without the lid on. It is the curing which requires the protective cover.
    2. You forgot the reflective plate under the carousel for curing, which is why you have underside curing issues.

    The build plate sits right ontop of the basket for inside the container the theres an extra metal bit that fits over the handles of the basket the build plate sits on that inside the IPA on the wash and cure 2.0 i love it! So easy! Vat aswell straight in the basker 3 mins cleans the whole thing without it getting scrached up with paparr towl etc

    The Mach5ive covers are awesome. The flaps are great because you can even leave your usb drive in the machine and still have everything covered.
    I use these on both my printers and will be ordering more for my wash & cure station and for when my Saturn arrives.

    For gluing parts together I would recommend 2 part epoxy glue or epoxy putty. Epoxy glue or putty are very strong and are ideal for gluing or adding to resin prints. Epoxy such as Magic Sculpt remain workable for about 1 hr after being mixed so you can sculpt it to better blend the pieces to each other. Epoxy putty can be carved, sanded, drilled, painted, etc and it dries rock hard. When working with Epoxy (glue or putty) work in a well ventilated room and wear nitrile gloves, as Epoxy can cause skin reactions (dermatitis) and the fumes can be harmful if inhaled. These are similar precautions to when using printer resin, so you should already have gloves and preferrably a face respirator. Thanks for the review of the wash station! Very informative.

    I don't have a resin printer yet, but I'm looking forward to getting a Saturn or Photon Mono X later this year! A wash/cure machine seems like a great way to avoid having to deal with this multi-step process I seem to see touted in comments everywhere: "I just slap it in my ultrasonic cleaner with mean green, then rinse in acetone, go over it with a toothbrush, dunk it in IPA and give it a rinse under hot water while waiting for the tea to boil." I have little interest in all that, lol.

    ive only been resin printing 16 days however if found resin away is very handy, no smell no flammable and i've had a mate using the same 1 litre bottle for the last 8 weeks , , also if you take it outer that into warm water the supports just peel of so easy and then a nice dry down with a cloth ( no need for a hair dryer) and then uv light time , great video :)

    milliput is also pretty neat for filling holes/gaps, etc. its an 2k epoxy which cures rock hard (sandable), and smoothes out with water while fresh mixed (if in need of small resculpts)

    just curious...you have a 3d printer....why not make adapters for the other build plates for the washer? Also, how often do you change your solution out? I just got into 3d printering adn went with a elegoo mars 2 pro, but want to pick up a wash and cure station, but one thing i'm concerns about long the solution last. I am thinking using a full on 90% ipa mix, but might bring it down to a 50% alcohol solution depending on the resin collection i get and would hate to have to throw out glalons of ipa on a weekly basis

    Thanks for the super informative video and it had the added bonus of using the same curing station I own! Is the odor for the Siraya Tech Smokey Grey bad compared to the other resins you've used and do you have a video comparing the odor of the resins? I live in a small condo and don't have the luxury to print in a separate room from my office area so this info would be super helpful.

    I just got a Mars 2 Pro and the Elegoo Wash and Cure station.
    I printed the rooks in Elegoo ABS-Like Grey and put them in the wash and cure machine (6 minute wash and 3 minute cure) but they still felt soft and they scratched like you mention at 19:02. I washed and cured them again for the same time but they're still scratchable. Any help? I did leave them on the build plate when I did the wash because my machine has the same mechanism.

    Really tempted to get a wash and cure station... I do have a question. How often do you replace/refill the water/alcohol solution and how do you dispose of it? Would really like to know- I've had some people say to leave it in the sun to evaporate, or even filter it, but I have yet to find a simple method for doing so.

    • @3DPrintFarm
      @3DPrintFarm  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! It really depends on the resin you are using. With some of the clear resins, the solution will last quite a while. With opaque, you'll need to change a bit more often. Since the rotary blades are built in to the plastic receptacle, I'll strain it from it to another plastic container through a coffee filter. Then leave that outside to allow the resin to settle and then I'll strain yet another time. With this process, the Wash and Cure bucket stays clean and the rotating blades are prevented from getting gunked up.

    • @eric3dee

      @@3DPrintFarm It might be getting too into the nitty-gritty of things, but I'd personally love to see a tips/tricks video of this nature. You could talk about other things of this nature, such as how you keep resin off tools (or not), how you dispose/clean of all the various messes that come along with resin printing. I feel like this is an area not really dealt with much.

    You used the term "Modus Operandi" in the wrong context. It means "how you operate" or "your normal way of doing something". It's not an object.
