We shot down from masts at the British below, and were trained to only shoot the guys without the crosses on their covers, while they engaged in melee below. This new corps using iron sights, scopes, and multi-shot rifles couldn't handle the good old days, back when we had the real Tun Tavern.
I did my crucial with a broken leg and still pushed this is no joke ladies and gents and guess what?!? I RE-ENLISTED now I’ll give back and go go back to ole parris island very soon
The thing I don’t miss about boot camp is spit shining them boon dockers in 1961. I remember spit shining those things before taps. And don’t forget rubbing linseed oil in the stocks of the M1 Garand. That was a daily ritual too.
Remember to work smarter not harder, build strength not muscle size. Eat food increase your energy and immune system. Listen and talk to other veterans of the Marine Corps probably will be the best choice.

I was a recruit at mcrd San Diego, unfortunately I didn't make it due to medical reasons. I saw people who worked out every single day of their lives dropping because it was to tough for them. The lack of sleep, the constant screaming, being punished (IT) for things they didn't do, the feeling of loosing strength, the whole nine yards. The weakest people don't go there the bravest people go and become marines. You become weaker the first few weeks of recruit training, you will eventually gain strength back but be ready to not be able to do a single pushup because your muscles are so sore.
@Ryan he’s not lying. If you’re in good physical shape, it’s ALOT easier. At least the physical part. There’s really no way to prepare for the mental part aside from doing mindfulness exercises
