I love your vids. I live so far away from the ocean so your videos are a nice moment to discover a total different world of mine. Thanks for that Tugboat Willy.
Oh man, another video from you and it's a tour, no less! Wow you've got a lot of space for a ship that is so "small"! I would have thought you'd stay onshore overnight or something, but clearly not the case lol. Another brill video, enjoy your 2 weeks off and thanks for the tour!
As a commercial shellfisherman in Rhode Island seeing these tugs up and down to providence ; always wondered what the inside looked like . Great video , would be nice if you could do one of the older fleet like the ones in providence ,good job
Two cool things about this boat: 1. its at least somewhat cozy and homeley 2. NY CITY!! Yeee boi :D On a more serious and interesting sidenote your channel has reminded me of something i had long considered and forgotten about; becoming a Tugboat captain :)
Thanks much. Great video. That is one awesome boat. Maybe sometime you could share how much the big ships pay to get moved around once they enter the harbor. Thanks again.
HEY CAPTAIN.....I have a question, but first let me say i just stumbled upon ur vid & absolutely love it!!! I have limited boat knowledge but always been interested in them, esp specialty vessels like this. How much training did u all receive in firefighting? Do u all have any type of ongoing training to retain ur certification(if there is any) to remain working on the boat? I'm located upper Chesapeake bay area & have multiple fire boats for different types of calls, that's why I'm curious to your firefighting portion of the tugboat life. I'm subbing u know & plan on going thru ur vids.....THX & STAY SAFE MY AQUATIC FF BROTHERS!!!
Everybody does a really good job keeping her clean. Curious how the job scheduling works. Not the two week part, but rather the actual work. How do the tugs get assigned to tasks?
pretty soon i'll be able to add tugboat operator to my list of youtube degrees, which include 1800's steam locomotive engineer, WWII tank commander, small plane operator, french chateau rebuilder, antique restorer, and, for some reason, wild west chuck wagon cook, among other useful skills that i'm sure i'll get around to needing.
So when you are on for your two week duty, do you live full time on the tug or go home each night, etc. AND are you the captain of the tug or are you operating under a captain?
Une vraie petite maison sur l'eau, je ne pensais pas que c'était si grand à l'intérieur ^^ Trad google: A real little house on the water, I didn't think it was so big inside ^^
@@tugboatwilly843 That's awesome!! We used to hang out a bit growing up. He dated a girl that used to live on my block. Ask him what Jackie did to his white Mustang 5.0 convertible if you talk to him. Lol. I haven't seen him in like 20 yrs or so.
Hats off Capt and crew. Your tug is immaculate. Extremely well maintained.

Assignments are Distpachers jobs to do, Sir

Yall live aboard for 2 week shifts? Why?
Genuinely curious. It’s cool that you do. Is it just more convenient to have a constant crew?
It’s a 24/7 operation. Just the easiest way to do it
@@tugboatwilly843 that’s honestly cool as hell. I’d love to work a few years aboard a boat of any type.
Whoaaaaaa awesome !!!!
Are you guys on the boat for days/ a week at a time? The way the boat is setup makes it seem like it!

Cadillac of a tug!

Awe cmon Chuck how come you don’t want to be on video…just kidding, I totally understand, I wouldn’t want to be on either.

sick job man
Why do you need all the amenities you have on the boat? Why couldn't you just get on the boat for work and get off when your shift is up?
Shifts are 6 hours and we all live all over the USA. This is a 24 hour operation. Thanks for watching!
