@@ruudvanveen7226 Not a pure tug, tug boats do not have rear cargo decks, and cranes, anchor handling equipment, it is a long haul tug for maneuvering floating oil rigs.
I don't care what these super-duty tug supply boats are classified to do . . . these behemoth work boats are welcome in my ocean waters anytime for any reason each having tremendous abilities for any given task thrown at them.
Main engine horsepower, (or in kilowatts), bollard pull, and electric generating capacity would be interesting, as would type of drive. Pretty colors are fun but don't tell us much.
Not specifically tugboats !! They are offshore support vessels, and while they do perform some tugging activities, you omitted the most important number: drawbar pull.
LOL, I've worked on some of these vessels. Indeed these are offshore vessels en I saw just one with a towing installation. Mostly used for offshore projects or as offshore supply vessel. Nice images but poor info.
A small correction. Boskalis' is based in Papendrecht The Netherlands and not in the UK
A tugboat or tug is a marine vessel that manoeuvres other vessels by pushing or pulling them, with direct contact or a tow line.
All the ships seen in this video are off shore supply vessels, yes they can be used as tugs, but that is not their primary job or role.
I was watching the video and thinking, when are they going to show the tugs... so do thee boats tow often?
@@allanthomas6097 Large ones like these are used to reposition oil rigs, or tow them back to harbors for maintenance.
Not true, the ALP Striker is a pure build tugboat

The Alp Striker is a pure purpose build oceangoing tugboat!
Thanks to all who educated me about the errors of this video narration. I had no idea these weren't actually tug boats, but support vessels. Wow.
Go do some research! These are NOT tugboats!!!
exactly, these are multi purpose vessels
That's way bigger then a tugboat
Multi purpose ships with towing capacity…
They sure could have used these in Baltimore.
what for??

Hi hi
16 Knots =
29.632 Kilometers per Hour
exact result
please mention HP
This would be a supply Rig ship
These arnt tugs, they're all ocean support vessels, not one of these is a tugger...
Those are not tug boats get your facts straight
Not specifically tugboats !! They are offshore support vessels, and while they do perform some tugging activities, you omitted the most important number: drawbar pull.
And the strongest tugboats (none of these are tugboats!) don’t even have propellers!
What the Hell are you talking about
@@andrewrees8749 try google Voith propulsion TOO SEE WHAT THE HELL I’M TALKING ABOUT !!!!!
Guys give this guy a break it his first time on Earth, obviously he doesn't know how a tugboat looks like.
What a bullshit movie, Normand Maximus is a OSCV, Offshore Support Construction Vessel, she has no towing capacity

So many mistakes in the list, disappointing :-(
I agree this video is wrong. These are support ships, seen a lot in the North
Sea.
