      Obed Sanchez he’s talking from an industry perspective, yes. The artist & producers/engineers are seen as the guinea pigs and peasants on the bottom of the food chain then it goes all the way up to manager, A&R, lawyer, president, COO, CEO etc. Also from a producer perspective, there are levels of producers as well. You have the bedroom/producers that sells beat online, then you have placement producers that lands placements from developing to bigger artists, then you have the industry producer that are like the Dr. Dre, Pharrell, Scott Storch, Metro Boomin etc.

It’s never enough, you can enjoy the love of making beats but at the end of the day, we live in America and America isn’t a country, but a corporation where you have to make money in order to live and get your respect as both a producer and as a person.

    This was an eye opener in a lot of ways so thank you Kyle for giving us a glimpse into the mind of an industry big shot.
    His "grand scale big picture" vision is pretty much the same dream all music producers have. The only difference is he was able to turn some of that into a reality by using his talented recruits and creating a beat making assembly line while networking with all sorts of people. Given his ability to earn a hefty sum unbeknownst to many established industry producers, it drew major music publishers to gravitate towards him in hopes of tapping into that money. The majors don't care about respect, they only care about money and if he is the flavor of the month, that's where they will be. As much as there is a lot to be respected here, we probably don't know the full story of that success as no one will give away their trade secrets or how they got there connections or the honest truth of how everything came into place. I'm sure there was a lot more going on behind the scenes and many more people that helped build that business into an empire and not just Taz and a few of his recruits. The end story of success is all they want you to know and that is what breeds jealousy and builds mythical legends. But people like that often forget their humble origins once they explode into popularity. The mere attitude and lack of respect he displayed during the interview with regards to budding beat makers and how he looks down on their "lowly" questions speaks volumes about what he's already become. Whether he becomes the next Jimmy Iovine or another greedy corporate scavenger in a business filled with snakes, rats, and sharks remains to be seen. This isn't unexpected. A person's upbringing and how they were raised often helps determine what they will be like when they become successful. There are those who will always show respect, restraint, character, and humility and there are those who become vultures and hustlers who poach and victimize. Either way, guys like Taz will just brush off these comments as "Haters" who are bitter because they don't have what he has.
    Makes me love Lil Wayne's Don't Cry lyrics even more: "Talent is god-given, be grateful, Fame is not a given, be humble and, Conceit is self-driven, drive carefully
    Stay in your own lane, seat buckled
    As Kendrick Lamar would wisely put it: "Sit down... Be Humble". Pride comes before the fall...

    This video was essentially Taz tooting his own horn for 20 minutes. He didn't even go in depth about the steps he took to make as much money as he does he just vaguely put it as "it's all about executive producing". I got into music for the joy I get from making it and listening to it so this route that Taz took isn't really for me. But even for those that would want to get into this sort of thing, there were virtually no takeaways from this video. All I really got from this was Taz almost condescendingly talking about how he feels he's so above all the stricly producers out there, and how much money he makes.

He's been doing this for a minute and now that he's got mentors and people who can teach him how to become an executive producer. Of course he's gonna do it. Shit if i could be on my DJ KHALED shit, I wouldn't miss the opportunity. That's what he's tryna do. We all start somewhere man. Like Meek Mill said THERE"S LEVELS TO THIS SHIT!! This music industry isn't nice and if you let them take advantage of you and not pay you your worth, then they'll continue to do that. It happens everyday to producers. Look at the TM88 situation. He's produced hitters for so many artist and they didn't even pay the man for his beat. RESPECT TO TAZ FOR BEING ABLE TO BLOCK OUT THE NOISE AND FOCUS ON TAKING CARE OF HIS FAMILY.. @Jae Paul people have their opinions, u can disagree with an opinion, but it's childlish to get angry at that person because of his opinion, the funny thing is that you told him that he's like a 14 year old with no real world experience, when u seem to be just as childish as a 14 year old.

    • @vihaankodeboyina9695
      @vihaankodeboyina9695 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Jae Paul But it's not a fact. By definition, it's an opinion. Micheal Jordan is arrogant, yet he has a massive brand he seems to be the face of success to many people. Also I'm 14 in July, so good job, u figured me out, lol...

    I agree taz was obnoxious, but looking at his past you can see why. Guy came from nothing, dropped out of high school, and started producing to pay his mother’s medical bills. He got in it for the money to begin with. When you grow up poor like that, the people who make it out, and get rich are the ones respected. It’s the mindset he was raised with. Yes he’s obnoxious, but I just feel like someone should defend him a bit

    • @shigan8505
      @shigan8505 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that`s bullshit... he should remember where he came from a bit . Plus he`s talking to one of those "type beat producers" that he laughs about, it was awkward for kyle i guess. Not even metro boomin talks like that.

    Maybe its just me, but this Taz guy doesn't sound arrogant to me, he's just getting money off of something he's been working on and it has built his confidence up to the point where he's understanding how big it can get and how far he can go. He's probably trying to get to the billions, so the millions aren't as big of a deal, anymore. If you pay attention and don't get in your feelings, you realize, he's actually dropping some gems
