If what looked like your spare on the roof rack wasn’t there, would the tent fit better around the barn door opening? I have a gx 470 and was wondering how that would seal up around the rear cab opening with the barn door. Any thoughts? Thanks for your efforts to show us what you do. Appreciate your efforts.
Hi Douglas, yes the tent would still work without the tire on the roof rack. and yes it would wrap around better with the gaps at the corners like mine. the only difference is that your going to need to raise the center to take the place of the "raise up back door". I think I have a solution and am making a video soon on it!
Omar, I have a regular Honda Pilot. No lift kit. I am looking for a good tent to connect to it. Looks like the Trekway is awesome. My concern is it must fit tight around the tail gate area. No gaps because in Florida where I am, the mosquitoes are relentless year round. Does this SUV Tent seal completely?
I do and it's ready to go! I just haven't taken the family out because it's been so cold out. And when I go out, it's a lot for me to take the trailer, very overkill. So now that the warmer months are around the corner, ill be taking it out with the fam.
Oh and it's performed great so far. this will be year 3 and I plan to push it a little further on the trails. also the fact that im getting pretty comfortable with it, I want to really push its limits.
I think so. The Commander has Quadra Drive 2 and the GX has ATRAC plus a center locking diff. Im more used to the Commander but the GX is fun to drive too:)

Thanks for your post Joe! I think it would fit. There are straps all around the connection point to cinch down.
Omar, do you still have the Outbound camper? How has it held up/performed for you?

@@OJCozhappy to hear it’s been a good camper for you. Can’t beat them for the price. Travel safe!
@gt2745 thanks brother safe travels to you also!
Is the GX just as capable off road as the Commander? How do they compare?
I think so. The Commander has Quadra Drive 2 and the GX has ATRAC plus a center locking diff. Im more used to the Commander but the GX is fun to drive too:)
