That was a remarkable talk, though not easily consumable for the average layman. Still, such discussions about reversing T2 diabetes from scientists is quite exciting and very hopeful. It is obvious that T2 diabetes is a terrible epidemic in the Western world, and getting worse. We need newer solutions and then family docs need the training to communicate this to patients.

Keto is a lifestyle, not a diet.
1st step is just start clean eating with whole foods, eat whole foods from the outter band of grocery store. After you give up the processed foods. Next step is Swap outs. So you swap out your flour out from all purpose to almond flour , milk you swap out your milk with a keto milk approved for me it was skim milk to a swap out of unsweetened vanilla almond milk. It is so easy, once you know the swaps, to make it keto. Anyone can do it I never thought it was for me until I learned the swaps, there is 90sec keto microwave bread and 90 sec keto sweets to make and the right swaps for any craving.
I'm on to my third year of my keto lifestyle and I won't be going back to the standard American diet (SAD), swap your sugar out for me it was liquid stevia extract.
It's the sugar, it's In Everything and I mean everything so check your labels well and go sugar free.
    MS warrior since 97

Milk is already keto approved especially full fat. Why switch to something with more carbs if you’re trying to keep your fat high and carbs low ?

      Thanks for your feedback.
I'm no expert here, just my personal experience what has worked for me in my keto lifestyle journey thus far.
This is what I have found during my experience is that
Milk, at least in my case for the fat free skim milk , is actually more carbs then what I switched to for my swap out milk option I choose an unsweetened vanilla almond milk.
As always, Check and compare labels and pick whats best for you!

@@msmarlomarie try sourcing unhomogenised, non-standardised full fat milk instead of anything else. It's far superior unless you have a dairy intolerance.

Dr Volek, once your patients are on long term low carb diet, are you noticing a sharp decrease in the incidence of cancer?

It was an interesting video. It would be good to hear what were the questions asked, or at least to show the question on a screen.

There will be no necessity for military performances or going to war, after everyone becomes ketogenic/in ketosis--everyone becomes intelligent, high-performance, healthy, rational, and calm. As every single person was born in ketosis as a baby, this is the standard physiological/metabolic mode for all human beings. NICE video!! 🥰

    - would love to know more details the studies! Is nad low becuase it’s in NADH form due to mitochondrial issues not regenerating it? Or is combined nad and nadh lower in older adults?

You spliced out the concept transitions, it makes this very hard to follow since disparate but related ideas flow into one another with not even a pause.
