  • I compare my new to me #akaimpc one against my Akai #mpcstudio and I was surprised just how awesome the mpc studio black can be.

Standalone resolves any either or conversation for me. If I could only own one, it would be the One.

Just imagine the studio black as a stand-alone with an internal battery. I love the design on the studio black.

Also, imagine it being a little thicker, yet slim, with a foldable screen (like the MPC 2500), and not a bigger screen, but an updated screen that is SLIGHTLY bigger for an enhanced experience. I don't know why Akai doesn't come out with a modern MPC 1000, 2000, 2500, 3000, etc.

The force and fantom is a deadly combo. Congrats on the upgrade. Subscribe and let’s build.

“If you cannot make a banger in the Studio, please do not buy a ONE.” 😂 the sad truth.

Hey man, great video as always. I really like how even though you own the fancier ones, you give a logical answer regarding the more affordable MPC's. I need some of that level-headed perspective from you if you don't mind. This might appear long, but it really is just a simple question with a little backstory. I appreciate you bearing with me.
I bought an MPC One and, although complicated at first, I ended up falling in love with the MPC workflow (I come from the Maschine side of production). Unfortunately, I had to return my MPC One because of some hardware defects, so now I'm left without a standalone gear (I absolutely despise mouse and keyboard for music making, personal preference). I have two complaints against the MPC One: some actions require touching the screen and I hate that, and there isn't a cursor like the old MPC's and the Studio Black (which I think is perfect, although I've never used any other MPC). My question is this: if I get the MPC Studio Black, I know it's just a controller but, can I make music without ever having to rely on mouse and keyboard in regard to the making of the music (naming files and what not doesn't count), or is it mostly on the controller but just about 15% (arbitrary number) on the computer? Also, is sampling and recording pretty starightforward like the MPC One, or does it require going through some hoops? I need to be able to record my music making process for my TH-cam channel (this is my personal account, my artist account is Ghazi Mase, if you are interested in checking out my music. I just started my journey, so some feedback from you would be very helpful and I would greatly appreciate that). My thing is, just like how the Maschine MK3 is just a controller but you absolutely do not need the computer to do the actual work (the computer is just needed to run the software, that's all), can the MPC Studio Black handle the entire music making process with the buttons and knobs provided without having to be assisted by the computer other than to run the software? I know you already made a video about this, but considering the new Studio just came out, is it a smart idea to get the old Studio Black? Price is not an issue for me, so putting price aside and the fact that the One is s standalone, how does the Studio Black and the One compare? If I wanna futureproof then should I repurchase the One, or will I still get miles with the Studio Black.
Thanks a lot for your contribution to the music making community. Although your subscribers are (currently) in the hundreds, the value I've gotten from your videos thus far is in the thousands.

The Mpc studio black is by far amazing and you can close the screen and make all your music with out touching the mouse !

Unfortunately you need to downgrade your MacBook or use a Pc for the older mpcs

Thats not true I am working on Windows with the mpc studio silver. Also got both of these but I prefer the studio because for arranging and stuff it's faster and easier on a computer screen
