    I've had this controller for a year. I have watched the MPC Akai Studio tutorials and I don't understand them because they are too fast when explaining things and they are vague. I have also watched other TH-cam videos that were over an hour long and I still did not understand what the guy said. I gave up on this controller for months and I felt so bad seeing him all lonely on my desk. You are the first person that I understand. Thank you so much! I cannot even express my gratitude through text. I wish I could give you a hug!!! You are amazing!!!

    One of the BEST tutorials ever!!! FOR ANY PRODUCT!!! I own the original MPC3000. I've been waiting for a good software version for years. Once I got it, I couldn't really get around in it until you explained. They ARE different animals. Plus I found the AKAI tutorials lacking. I've watched other tutorials but none were as concise as yours! Thank you for breaking out my creativity on the MPC again!!!

    Much like your 1st video I’m brand new to working with controllers so I appreciate your help. Question 1: is it necessary to use the software that comes with the system, or can I work directly in Logic Pro ( current version) with the controller?

      The MPC Studio only works with the MPC Software (standalone and Plugin).

      @@172Break If you do not need the nice LEDs you can use the MPC Studio as a ordinary MIDI device. It does not look as fancy in other DAWs but it is a MIDI controller. I use it in Reaper and it works OKish. 🙂

      @172Break ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KaiLabs You are spot on! I only found that out at the weekend. I was using the MIDI analyser in Cubase to see what what data was coming in from one of my keyboards ( I thought the Mod wheel was faulty). While it was running, I started finger drumming on the MPC pads (a bad habit) while looking at the screen and saw the MIDI note on data coming from the MPC Studio. The same thing also happened when I tapped the pads on my PUSH controller for Ableton.

      @@172Break Just found out: there is a built-in MIDI editor in the MPC 2 software. So you might be able to just change the CC notes for different pads and buttons. 😎 You'll find it at the right side next to the mode icons. There is this small arrow you can click on and there you will find "midi editor".
      The longer I play with the MPC software the more I get the feeling being in a computer game with easter eggs and small hints all over it to solve the great master puzzle. 🤡

    Digging your videos a lot lately! One thing I absolutely despise about the MPC Studio MK2 which Akai has not publicly announced---- it will not work with Windows 7. Even if you install the main driver, and run MPC Beats... the pads and buttons don't light up and the screen just says "Akai." Granted, I know Win7 is not supported anymore but a LOT of people still prefer it to Windows 10, for a lot of reasons, the first being musical/recording-wise. Akai needs to be clear about the new products not working with Windows 7, at all. MPC Beats 2.10 will not install at all on Windows 7 (nor the regular MPC 2.10 software), which makes the MPC One not available to be used in Controller Mode. I can only run MPC Beats 2.8.3 (which is fine, as it does 99% of what I want). But the Win7 thing is not cool. The M-Audio Oxygen Pro Mini, which you've done a ton of videos on... the editor works perfectly with Windows 7, as does the controller itself. And it's brand-new. There's no reason they can't get the MPC Studio MK2, Live 2, or One to work with Windows 7. They just refuse to.

    • @172Break
      @172Break 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why do you prefer windows 7 to windows 10 for making music?

    Quick question. Can you connect a midi piano keyboard to this controller as well. If not, then how would you? Thanks for the education.

    • @KaiLabs
      @KaiLabs ปีที่แล้ว

      You can. But I do not know, why? MPC Studio has hardware MIDI input and output. But every MIDI Piano just works with your DAW of your choice while MPC is just a UI crime. 😁I work with Reaper, Cakewalk, Ableton Live and MPC2. Usually I only use MPC as a VST in my favorite DAW which is Reaper right now.

  • @normski262
    @normski262 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can I ask; loading programs to the project, is it limited to 2 , or can we dump more like vocals, strings, or other WAV files,so we could end with say 4 or more programs from different packs in one project ? If correct, I am doing somethgn wrong as if I try and load samples from diferent packs, if says going to over write 1 of first packs I installed.. I noticed you said " it auto selects the other samples or pack" . How do get around that, if if have say 4 packs in installed, if thats even possible!

    • @DSoundman
      @DSoundman  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In my experience you can load more than two. If the program you’re trying to load uses some of the same core samples as a program already loaded, it will probably give you that error. I think it still lets you load them though.

    • @normski262
      @normski262 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DSoundman Thanks for the reply! I have been playing around, it seems you kind of can load several packs, but not sure how practical it is , gets too big and confusing but it can be done. Well I have done it anyway, and all works fine. Thanks for the lessons, I have run it now about 20 times hhaha, to begin to really get how it all works. Nobody is talking about how the he'll do you use bank b bank bank c ect, there seems to be a lot of longwinded processes thats half the time on native instruments products, remember this crap like retrospect record just see what youve played on screen.Mpc has never been a favorite as its built for computer geeks & not musicians that need to record your idea without save seq save project save samples crap. I bought this product as I thought you would of improved over the years. I've had this 7 months & still not one song made due to things hidden & awkward processes thats so simple in native maschine. Mac stuff is a bag of confusion that sounds impressive if you can actually get it to work. Its a prototype thats sold to the public to get some money to finish it. The software crap as there's to much on one page & virtually no real sample manipulation l like speed up the sample without pitching & have you tried to use the bank's.? It's a mad process when it should be as simple as press bank B & load your sounds, oh no thats to simple let them figure it out after the purchase.! Wasted my money as I'm not gonna sell this product but give it away for wasting so much of my time.& never buy another mpc stands for Manipulate People's Currency for personal gain..absolute rubbish

      The AKAI MPC Studio has quite a steep learning curve. I guess this is why. It is so much easier to use your mouse. 😁I just got mine and want to throw up twice a day just for pure frustration. But I am getting there. 😉

      @@KaiLabs yeah, comments too short - it is about experience. Your assumption only shows the inexpeience, that's why I said it is a nonsense without further explanation because I don't want to go through this right here right now. I just noted it for others that this is not a way to go in this century with ITB production. That is also reason why there is a lot of people who prefer hardware gear and OTB. Now the progress in this industry should be that ITB has power of using VST while also offering perfect integration with hardware sequencers that OTB producers praise. I would need to write article about this for you. As well as article about blood canal infection from using mouse when you working daily at computer.
