Yup, you're perfectly fine with a CBA, in fact if you're going to modify its a better platform to start with. I talking about this more in my video about the CBA, DBA and CBA comparison
Its just my opinion but I think its inaccurate to state there isn't an issue with the GR6 transmission followed up by there was an issue with older models. Just because an issue doesn't apply to your particular year model doesn't mean its not a known issue. The transmission on my 2009 GTR R35 needed replaced around 75k and I have a recent statement from a GTR certified Nissan dealership that quoted me $23,000 to replace it. The GR6 can be rebuilt around $5k for a basic build and more depending on what you plan to do. Maintenance is retaliative I suppose to how much money people feel is acceptable to spend for them and how much of the work they can do themselves. Oil changes aren't too bad, $250 through my GTR Nissan dealership. Tires run $2,000 for a good street tire but expect to replace them 1-2 yrs if your daily drive it. Insurance is around $2k annually. 60,000k service is around $3k or less if you do some of the work yourself.
Just to clarify, what I said was the issue of the transmission being fragile came from the CBAs but no longer applies due to being on LC2 to LC5 and TSB clips. For me an oil change is only $45 becuase I do it myself. $250 to have someone do it sounds right, but owners don't need to pay that premium since oil changes are super easy. Tires are different for each driver depending on that compound you want and if you daily drive, weekend warriors or do burn outs
Can have the trans fixed by Shep trans for literally 1/4 of that price, have it more reliable and be able to hold more then stock power. Can get a 1k trans with drop gears for 13k and have a fully built trans.
Awesome info! My first guess WAS the transmission! $4300 for rear brakes? No thanks. Keep up the great content 👍🏁!!
Thanks. Ya, Nissan is a little ridiculous
hahaha too funny with all the GT-R memes, might make a review vid myself. Got the SBD brakes no squeeks on my end. 👍
Hell ya. Go for it.
Unfortunately, my SBD brake pads squeel like track pads
This car is easier to work on than my 03 911 turbo was.
It's not bad. I thought it was going to be worse due to the tight engine bay
Thank u for clearing up about the cba. I was scared to get one because of the tranny . Cool I can take advantage of the price and get an automatic.
