    CBA all day long. Best suspension and great build quality The older car got the stiffer suspension If you’re going for a DBA or EBA you should go for a Track edition or Nismo for the stiffer suspension. Transmission go for ever. The only problem is people mapping them and not upgrading the baskets and gearing. If buying a car buy a low owner car with a proper history. Either main dealer or from a reputable specialist If your scraping in to a GTR budget Look else where as the running cost can be high even with a well maintained car

    • @JDArcher
      @JDArcher 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I agree with most of what you said. My only disagreement is with your comment about cost of maintenance. This has been of of the most reliable cars I've had with 136k miles on it. Maintenance has been fairly cheap and repairs minimal.

    • @StuartGold-f7j
      @StuartGold-f7j 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@JDArcherdidn’t say they aren’t reliable. If your using a specialist service centre your be looking north of 1000 a year with nothing wrong with it. Lower suspension arms over a thousand. Brakes and discs. 2.5k. Oil cooler 4k. Sumps on gearbox rust 750. Rear subframe 4k fitted. I own 4 and own a GTR approved Bodyshop 1 of 4 in UK. Well this isn't good news. I don't know what kind of pads are on my GTR currently, but they're quite squeaky and produce a lot of dust. I did buy the SBD pads a little while ago, and plan to install them when I do the next oil change. Sucks to hear the bad luck you had with them, a few local GTR owners suggested them to me and they were reasonably priced even with exchange to CAD.

    • @JDArcher
      @JDArcher หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are cheap and as someone else pointed out, brakes are something you should never go cheap on. The thing with SBD is that their quality is inconsistent. You may get a set of good pads, or you may get a set with issues. You'll never know which one until you install them.

    Did you say that you were going to have your Rotors turned after you just seeded the new pads? 😂 I think you just found the problem on your first set. You also said that you daily you car for the last 3 years on SBD pads and now you are complaining. Sorry bro I don’t buy your story unless it’s for clout and marketing. It’s sad that you would try and blast someone on TH-cam with such an unbelievable story.

    • @JDArcher
      @JDArcher หลายเดือนก่อน

      I had the rotors turned before the bed in, but if you notice i was having issues with the GoPro and the footage was lost, but I did talk about getting it done in the video before I went. As for what you believe, that is up to you. It happened to me and so I'm going to post about it whether it's popular or not. The issue only happens when it rains. In SoCal, that's not very often and even then it's usually pretty light. This year we got Oregon style rain and thats when the pads decided not to work. Given the size of my channel, you can definitely not assume I'm doing this for clout. I'm in my 40s and don't care about such things. I do this because I enjoy it and I know I'll never be a big you tuber, I don't have the free time and im to old. I'm just telling my story, what you do with it is up to you

      No hate, I must have missed that part. I am also in my late 40s but after 3 years I’m sure the rotors and pads were glazed and once it seen water it had no bite. Did you have the rotors turned the first time? I’m curious cause when I did mine I replaced rotors and pads cause the oem rotors were glazed and started to heat crack. Glad to hear that you didn’t crash. running mine for over 3 years now in Indiana all types of weather with no issues. Hope you fixed your issue for good now and hey maybe you did get a poor set but really no reason to bash someone on TH-cam. Every industry has its pros and cons but Chris does have some of the best bang for the buck products out there. ✌️

    • @JDArcher
      @JDArcher หลายเดือนก่อน

      @shannonjenningsGTR35 the first thing I did when i bought the car is install the SBD rotors, pads and brake lines. I considered the glazing as well, but the car has not been driven hard since January 2022. Even if the rotors were glazed, I'd imagine it would be off by now. My assumption is that SBD is lacking in their QC. This is evidenced by other who have the squeaking issues and those that don't. So, when you get a good set of pads, they're good, but if you revs to run a little unlucky like i do, and you get a bad set...I the bigger issue is when I contacted Chris and offered to send the pads to him to get then analyzed to see if he did have an issue, he wasn't interested.

    I have the SBD and while I haven’t experienced the brakes not stopping, I also don’t drive my GTR in the rain. I have noticed the squeaks but I only put them on because they were advertised as greatly reducing brake dust. They still produce quite a bit, so I don’t know if it was worth it at the end of the day. My stock pads have only like 1000 miles so I held on to them. I did notice once coming to a stop after racing some pretty bad fade on the SBD’s though, so I don’t think I’d buy them again.

    • @Superdimensional
      @Superdimensional หลายเดือนก่อน

      PS, pretty weak of Chris to behave like that. Not totally surprised though, he seems to be very controlling of the narrative on “His” GTR group and doesn’t seem very receptive to feedback and has a “know it all” attitude, so when I hear this type of thing it just solidifies preconceptions.

      @Superdimensional i agree with your assessment. I also believe that he just doesn't do CQ, so bad parts are allowed through. I was just unlucky enough to get a bad set of pads

      I’m really sad to hear this because I actually watched your videos before I bought my own GTR. I trusted the words that came out of your mouth. For Starters, we are to believe that you installed these brake pads on your own several times and then you had a shop redo your work. At some point after that shop touched your car you state that you attempted to apply your brakes and nothing happened. In order to stop you had to pullyour e break. But your story does not stop there you continue to drive the vehicle and this happens again. If this happened one time you would get the car towed to a shop. You wouldn’t continue to drive it and test your luck. Unfortunately, your story is highly unbelievable and I think you are pointing the blame in the wrong direction. The people you should be looking at if this did in fact happen the people that touched your brakes last. Also ask somebody in that community on Facebook we all know you didn’t get banned for contacting him about this issue.

    I used SBD pads for a few years, and they were quiet and did their job. My only issue was that the initial bite was not as aggressive as the OEM. Other than that, they barely produced any dust or noise. I recently added AMS brake lines, J-hook front rotors, SBD rear rotors, and Endless MX72 pads. They're dusty and sometimes loud, but they brake so hard that it hurts lol

      I think the issue with SBD is their QC. Bad parts are allowed through, so if you get a good set, they're good, but if you're unlucky like me...

One minute, it was driving smoothly and all of a sudden it lost half its power.. did all the cooling modds, redline before cutting the car off, always premixed it, changed the plug, checked the oil often... still went out catastrophically...
