I just got mine....my neck is actually thinner and feels identical to the first run of the charvel dk 24 2pt other that the frets on our new Guthrie is stainless. These pickups compared to the Duncan's well....the bridge is less high pitch on the top . Super shreds are known for that pushed mid high top end that is hard to dial out of tone....the charvel pickup to my ear is actually better. My only gripe is the trem when I screw the bar in a bit I can't get it to that point where it stays where I leave it but it's probably due to a adjustment I'm assuming on the charvel bridge. But I will say mine never goes out of tune either so it's a compromise I'm very willing to make lol . Enjoy the guitar I know I am mine . Have a blessed day dude 😎👊🏻
Some years ago I played a USA Charvel GG (the roasted ash model) and thought it was F'n SUPERB, but it was CRAZY overpriced. At that time it was around $3k and I thought it had the quality of an $1800 guitar. Years later, the MJ model was announced. When I got a chance to play the MJ model I was really let down. It didn't have the same vibe/ mojo as the USA model I'd played and the quality was so-so. I haven't bought it. I think the price they're asking is CRAZY. That said, I also own an Ibanez AZ47p1qm and it's FANTASTIC! When it arrived, it had some fret buzz at the nut. It needed a truss rod tweak and new strings -and BOOM, its a killer guitar and I paid $1250. The MJ GG is more than double and it's not double the quality. Like you, I installed a tremol-no for downtuning and it works GREAT! Stays in tune great. I'm interested in playing the new AZ2407 Prestige when it comes out. I'm pretty sure its going to be better than a MJ Charvel. I'm wondering how it'll compare to a Suhr Modern? I guess only time will tell. Peace~
@EJBGuitar and comparing it to the AZ47? Which you find comfortable? I fine the AZ i got really good, but the action seems a little high of which i prefer because of the 12 radius

While I agree in regards to the AZ47 being killer, I disagree about the MJ Govan…absolutely nothing about the guitar is a let down for me.

The AZ neck is a little bit thicker feeling than the GG.
I have that one but today I just got the USA version Guthrie Govan, I’m selling this one Japan cuz I can’t keep both
