Well ever since JC Curliegh Restored Epiphone back to premium brand in 2019/2020..I'm a loyal Epiphone man no I'm not a brand snob but I do like the legendary Epiphone..some Gibsons and Fender..that sire is a beauty for sure I just might give it a test run..
Eric! Awesome demo, wonderful tones. Was thinking about the G&L Doheny, but I think you may have sold me on the J3. Question... The retrofit knobs! What are they, how can I find them?
Pretty average output really. It’s been so long since I’ve even heard the J. Mascis pickups to be honest. They seem a tad bit hotter than “vintage”…but not HOT.
I do know this that it's probably from the Cortex Aka Cort facility nothing but professional quality guitars comes out of both facility Cort is known for their professional quality builds since 1973..
Fairly run-of-the-mill C-shape profile. I wouldn’t say it’s thin, but it’s definitely not thick. Fairly comfortable really, but the rolled edges probably have a lot to do with that. I haven’t played a Classic Vibe in years so don’t remember what they felt like.
I guess as good as any other guitar for the blues…I personally don’t really find guitars genre-specific for the most part. I think the pickups would be fine for blues though.
nice playing very clean technique
Appreciate that…thanks.
Thats a great sounding guitar! Love your tones mate👍🎸
Thank you - appreciate that!
Love me some smashing pumpkins! Also just ordered this guitar man im super excited

6:55 riff? It’s solid
That’s “sort of” the theme from Peanuts (or Snoopy or Charlie Brown…whatever the hell the name of that cartoon is!)
@ lol also, I have a Stratocaster from peavey, I’m wondering if this guitar is recommended for someone like me (I love the Red Hot Chili Peppers)
@thathomiefox 🤷🏻♂️ unfortunately nobody gonna know that other than you!
something i'm curious about with these is if fender pickguards and such can be used with them or if its all proprietary. sounds great though
Let me know if you find out
That neck looks interesting. I’d give the 2pt trem a try. You sold me with the Christopher Cross song though.
😂 Good ol’ “Sailing” gets ya every time!
Nice demo, i really dig the volume and tone knobs , what’s the reference/name ? Cheers
Thanks. Those knobs are off of an old amp (Gibson I think) that my old tech had in his parts box and I snagged them all.

Thanks!! Those are knobs off of an old Gibson amp that a friend had in his parts bin…I snagged them because they looked so cool.
@@EJBGuitar They really do look cool. Well snagged sir!
Hi, great demo! What do you think of the pickup and output level? Are we talking vintage or more J Mascis-style pickups? Thanks
Pretty average output really. It’s been so long since I’ve even heard the J. Mascis pickups to be honest. They seem a tad bit hotter than “vintage”…but not HOT.
Thanks for the nice demo! Would have liked to hear a little tremolo action though….
Yeah sorry…I’m notoriously bad at not demoing tremolos!

5:34 riff?
“Alone Again” - Dokken
Hi Eric, you said it has a 2 point term, but was the wammy bar include? Nice demo. Will you be trying the J5?
Yeah, of course it comes with the trem arm. Probably won’t be trying out the J5.
Curious to know how's the neck ? Is it a too thin neck like the Squier Classic Vibe ?

How is it for the blues?...

The break-up song is cool. Do you feel like it's a jazzmaster?
Not a true JM, but in the ballpark.
