I have both DACs mixamp and gamedac 2. I feel the mixamp sound way louder and more powerful, sound is better I think. Also, the mixamp has noisegate for the mic, the gamedac does not have any noisegate for the mic. However, the volume issue with the mixamp having to unplug it ervery time is very annoying. The gamedac works just fine. I am not sure which one to use. How is bad is the latency for both with dolby atmos? According to your video, numbers are the same using dolby atmos. I am right or did misunderstand the results? Thanks for your help. I would appreciate any help.
Those experiencing latency with audio over USB. Use DTS/Dolby Digital and set your HDMI audio to same as headset instead of stereo. Also enable checkbox mute speakers when headset connected.
Wish we could just plug a proper amp dac into the xbox and it all worked with little latency. Doesn't seem like a big ask, there's plenty of driverless amp dacs on the market that would work.
How about wired via 3.5mm output from monitor over HDMI? I use that competitively as a leaderboard player in overwatch on console and without testing it the audio latency feels close to 0.
That will depend on the monitor but it's almost certainly going to be better than USB for xbox. There is a review for the gamedac gen2 xbox on reddit that used to have a latency comparison between the gamedac (usb) and the 3.5mm on a dell monitor. For some reason the OP edited that part out but what it showed was that the gamedac was 90ms slower than the monitor's 3.5. I think the 3.5 itself had around 20ms latency iirc. The only problem with monitor 3.5 outputs is that they usually have lower quality audio with high noise floor.
Please please please investigate audio latency over hdmi pass through…. Xbox has horrific audio lag and the forums are full of discussions and complaints. I have tried so many different TVs, settings and soundbar combinations and the latency is always awful…. For me- for some reason, I found DTS to have less latency than even uncompressed stereo……
Hey bro, last time I did find the had I audio extractor to be very good, but still not like the true usb on ps5. I need to get a proper extractor and test it again. Last time using the hdmi extractor and getting Dolby digital signal out for mixamp, the latency was crazy, around 30 frames. I still need to test on a tv which I might be able to do at a family member’s place. I do believe Astro going with HDMI solution for A50x was probably due to this very issue and they just decided not to mention this in their marketing.
@@TheJasonaut having true usb audio out would be an amazing add to Xbox. I do wonder if this is due to chat audio options they’ve implemented, also we have a mic monitoring option built in the console, something we need a headset to support on ps5.
So in my last video, I did find HDMI audio extractor to be the best possible wired solution, and very comparable to Arctis 9x with Xbox wireless built in. I do need to get a good hdmi extractor and test it properly again, as the one I had is very cheap and gets extremely hot under use, which worries me a bit.
Bro having true usb audio on Xbox would honestly be a huge plus for platform. Funny thing is, something is already built in there, reason I say this, I set a custom light on my G6 which actually illuminates when connected to Xbox, but on PS5 the light reverts back to its standard res Color. So G6 somehow remembers some settings done on pc when connected to Xbox, just doesn’t have any audio coming over USB.
Bro only devices I have that can do usb audio on Xbox are the Astro mixamp pro tr and Steelseries gamedac gen2. People have mentioned remote play options and I need to look into that solution, but have a feeling it might be even worse latency wise. The best possible solution seems to be a built in xbox wireless headset like the Arctis 9x, or a headset plugged in the controller, but that’s still not close to what’s possible over usb on pc and ps5.
@@Lukasz3332x so bro the latency is though Xbox usb, as mixamp and even gamedac gen2 are the best latency wise on ps5. This is what I wanted to test if the usb wireless dongle for stealth pro had the same issue, and I was right. This closed audio on Xbox is the culprit, where the best possible result is through Xbox own wireless protocol.
Bro I honestly can’t deal with the forced crossplay against pc. Valorant supposed to be console only, and I’m really looking forward to it and might switch from COD and Xdefiant to that one, just for that fair console only experience.
Good video. This issue deserves far more attention than it's getting.
The delay is noticeable on the lipsync of the characters on story driven games.
@@jhonbenedictbaltazar8996 bro thanks for sharing, I didn’t even think of that.

That’d be so great, hopefully it’ll happen at some point.

So the xbox wireless headset would be one of my best choice without buying a controller right?
The USB lockdown on Xbox is pretty annoying and really hurts some of our experiences.

Please test the Razer Kaira Pro for Xbox
I have tried 3 headseat wired and wirless. There's audio latency on stereo, windows sonic, dts and dolby. There's no solution.
How is the latency of the SteelSeries Gamedac Gen 2 compared to the Astro?
Hey bro, last video was all due to the gamedac gen 2 as it was a good few frames slower than Astro, but on PS5 was the fastest result.
I’m using my monitor port for headphones instead of connecting it to controller.. do you think it’ll produce the same result?
I use the Xbox headset for USB audio and it is so amazing. Please test it out, I'm not lying.
The wireless version can be used with USB-C
What are you EQ settings for the stealth pro can you send it to me in a message
