Thanks Greg, just watched this and placed an order. A 12v conversion was something I was planning on doing for our up coming travels. If you've given it the thumbs up then I know it's good kit. Looking forward to trying it out - especially now one can travel with Starlink on permanently. I was looking at the new Starlink mini but at just a few hundred dollars with the router, it means I can keep running my Gen2 and save a few dollars. Cheers Tony
Star link looks great for caravan travel especially getting off the main tracks.... Seems like you got about 4 devices, (contraptions) all linked up to make it work though. Would be good if it all went into one system. Man those speeds were so fast.
Yea true Mike there are few bits of kit to make this work, I have purchased Starlink mini which looks good (video out in the near future ) and its just 1 thing you plug into 12 volt. I love the starlink speed Cheers Greg
Just remember that if you are powering directly from your batteries, & you have a shunt in your system. Wire the positive to the battery and the negative to the shunt. This will then be calculated in the battery management system.
@@KiwiWanderers I'm looking forward to your Starlink Mini review, both performance and how you mount it. Thanks for the heads-up on the Xtar kit Greg, cheers
Seems like the best option right now but given the atrocious owner of the company, I'd rather go with a slower satellite internet provider than give money to that POS
@@TeresaMorgan-r8k hi ya. We don’t get a lot of condensation but we do have some damp rid satchels hanging in the cupboards… we use our diesel heater in winter which doesn’t seam to create condensation… thanks for watching cheers Greg and Sandy
I love Starlink it enables us to live life full time on the road. great to see companies like these making things for the Rv community.
great to see some easy off the shelf options for this
Yea at last, But I think Starlink Mini might be 1 step better than this, we will see, Thanks for watching Cheers Greg

Hi Greg.
Did you have to make any adjustments to the new router. Ie change router name and or password.
No just plugged in and used router name and password. very easy
Hey Greg,
Why can’t you use the original router as the 12v converter has power out to the router.
Yea you can use any 12 router with this setup. But the original starlink router is mains power only. Thanks for watching cheers Greg
starlink have just increased the cost to $222 per month on roaming
Is this the Merv Joe of Matamata College fame??
yea its one of the disadvantages of no contract... Im still in the coverage and speed is great. Thanks for watching Cheers Greg

Hi Greg, got the same kit but the router shows disconnected? do you need to change anything on the starlink app before connecting the 12V kit? Thanks
Yea need to put the starlink router into bypass mode in the app under settings… I probably should have mentioned that in my video cheers Greg

Yea I'm hearing ya.... not much competition at the moment..thanks for watching cheers Greg
Not internet related. You guys are fading away. Do you guys get condensation in your caravan and if yes how do you deal with it.
