- I just can't get enough of Japanese food. This time I'm back for my 7th visit to the country but my first visit to Hokkaido. The northern island of Hokkaido is famous for its incredible high quality ingredients. From dairy to seafood, Hokkaido is known for providing seafood to many of the top sushi restaurants in Tokyo.

Hokkaido is undoubtedly the best place in the world to eat seafood! Not only are the crabs huge, but the scallops are also the biggest I have ever seen!
Hokkaido should be the only place in the world that sells cantaloupe slices! The weather there is very suitable for growing high-grade fruits!
I hope you will continue to travel and introduce us to the cuisines of various countries. Thank you for sharing! Happy travel! 👍🤩🙌
P.S. Sorry to watch this video now because of a cold!
Yes Hokkaido seafood is famous worldwide. Also best cantaloupe ever!
Feel better!
@@LukeMartin Thank you so much, Luke, you are very nice! 👍🥰🙌
Feel better 🎉❤❤❤
@@Ayodhyadham2002 Thank you so much!❤❤🙏🙏
WOW I love any type of seafood you are so lucky to eat these seafood.
that seafood and curry soup looked amazing!!
Looks like a successful start on your Hokkaido adventure ! Good to see Mink's impression on the food. Kitano Gourmet exemplifies customer service to shuttle you to their restaurant from the hotel .
Yes we’re off to a great start! Lots more coming soon
Okay I may be a little jealous and hungry right now. Great vlog as always good sir 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Japan's best beer is YEBISU and SAPPORO
Sapporo seems to be the most international known beer. I have never tried Yebisu l look forward to trying it.
That's a a nice start to you rHokkaido adventure
Those cherry blossoms are so pretty 😍 Hokkaido looks amazing, I really would love to go there as a friend of ours is currently traveling around Japan right now and he says it’s amazing. Those crab is just incredible Luke, it looks awesome.
Everyone loves Japan!
Awesome 1st day Luke! As much as I like the seafood, those cheese tart looks absolutely delicious! Even though haven't tried it, I'm sure nothing beats the original. Great to see Mink more on cam. Nice additional touch to the whole video. Keep em coming!
The cheese tarts are heavenly!
I would love to go to Japan! great video, very nice👋🇮🇹
We have best in food in Italia!!
Wow nice video! That beer looks sick, you get the Blues in the best possible way.
😂 exactly!
Amazing video. It’s so beautifully made. You are a beautiful couple. Thank you 😊
Great content, very enjoyable 👍✌️☮️
Thank you 👍

We also love Hokkaido, seafood, skiing in Niseko
Glad that you have recovered from the Columbia incident.
They look very tasty ❤❤❤❤
MUST HAVE BUTTER WITH CRAB!!!!
Those crab “lags” are crazy!
Man, Japan is so cool
Yup it is
I love Sapporo beer!
Luke Martin thanks for sharing this video. Sapporo became world famous in 1972 when the Olympic Winter Games were held there. Today, the city is well known for its ramen, beer, and the annual snow festival held in February.
Stay tuned for our ramen episode!
Thank you for the informative video! Have you ever been there in April? Is the weather very different at that time of year? Thank you!
I miss Japan 😢
Love from Pakistan
The stations are connected like this because of the winter snow. The economic center of sapporo is located between sapporo station and susukino and the more important buildings can be reached from this underground walkway which goes under one of the main streets of Sapporo.
Hiya. The melon is called “Rock Mellon” hear in Australia. Mostly juicy and soft. Honey Dew (green mellon) not so. The orange in the bi-valve mussel (sea scallop) we call “roe.” My understanding is that no not eggs for spawning, something to do with reproduction. Liver or kidney texture but the best part to me. ❤
Really dig your videos. Scared me though. When you were describing that last beer and its "drift ice", I thought oh no he's in Vancouver Washington or maybe Portland Oregon. lol. For the record I wouldn't recommend travelling within a thousand miles of the PNW. Thanks for the great content.
17:53 hahahahhahaha!! Luke!!!
Hi, which hotel did you stayed in that was close to the cheese tarts place?
Which month did you go there? was it cold?
Welcome all life lessons and enjoy them 🌼

1:38 These fluffies invite us to snuggle them, instead of consuming them.
❤Love Luke

FACT!
Hokkaido is the only prefecture in Japan which can produce and supply more than enough food for Hokkaido citizen.
How is that one crab $500, that's crazy!
Hi there.. can you share the crab pricing at that time? am not quite catch the information from the video.
7:38 its called the scallop coral or roe
The facial hair is (chefs kiss). Just saying ;)
Have you ever eaten crab before? All crab tomalley is edible and it’s the best part
Not all crabs such a king crab the tommaley is not edible
❤
Scallops meat and orange ro
Egg roe. 12:12
Hi Luke, what dates were you in Hokkaido?😊
Beard game is great, bud,
No!!! he is more handsome clean shaven.
Did the gentlemen explain why it took 30 mins to boil the hairy crab?
Watching you eat the hairy crab is too much work for me
Luke. What is the shop name in Sapporo you buy a Abashiri Draft beer at? I am in sapporo now and I look in 7 eleven. Family mart and Lawson. None of the have it. Please respond fast as you can. Because I leave sapporo. Thank you
Melons in Australia are about $1 each when in season
Hi Luke. Long time no see.
Say hello to your woman for me ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks Gracie!
Does anyone know the song 8:15-910?
What!!!!?? 25 thousand $ for a whole melon in Tokyo 😮🤔?
I wonder their crab is as good as alaskan crab
🍺👍
seafood so expensive in japan. i had it just as good and even better in Taiwan for less
i w0uld like to visit k0rea and japan and enjoy authentic food's !
my review:
the body is slightly sweet
legs are salty
miso is just like regular mudcrab miso rich is flavour
verdict: its good but price wise its better to eat mudcrab instead
😵😵😵
The orange part of the scallops are their gonads. Most travel food vloggers are pretty naive about most ingredients
😮bigger
He sounds like mark weinz.
What about Colombia?
I thought you were mr beast’s 😂
Anyone here knows what happened to the other girl that used to be in his videos a year or so ago
is that your lady? stunning❤
Unripe melon is crunchy and inedible. Properly ripe melon is extremely soft, sweet and juicy. They pick them unripe so they stay fresher on the shelf. But its a shame.
I'm new to your channel and have been enjoying your content. Great video! However, I wanted to make mention of your nails, the whiteness of them alarmed me and is usually a sign of an illness or disease, maybe it's already known but I thought I would reach out just in case.
First
30min tho
lol, first.
Sad when you see and think about all these crabs and fish just waiting their time to be food for someone
Hi luke 😍😍😍can I com
nuclear seafood in near future
🙁
??
Your gf is lovely! What is her heritage?
One piece crab? Low budget crab tour.
Just breakfast! Don’t want to waste it was plenty
What ever happened to the girl in his videos?
海から降ってきた雪の結晶を食べるみたいにうーん、変ですね。
Unfortunately alot of ingredients are from Fukushima where nuclear power plants broke down because it's cheap well known fact in Japan and around the world
- Alaskan king crab && snow crab are NOT from Japan lmaooooo
Where Is ur wife
Unfortunately crabs and lobsters are able to feel pain, anxiety and stress and so on. So throwing them into boiling water without any anesthesia is really cruel since the death can take up to 7 minutes. In Switzerland, lobsters can no longer be thrown into boiling water without anesthesia. Hope it will establish in other countries as well..
Boaring vlog
Atleast kill it before dropping it into boiling water dude
Already embarrassed himself in the beginning, " can you eat the inside of the crab" really.....why else would people be there to eat....🤦♀️
Don't embarrass yourself and do some research if you don't know your stuff. It's CURB market, not Crab Market. Also, melons are famous in Hokkaido, but not strawberries. Shame on you.
Why don’t you relax. This TH-cam don’t like it don’t watch.
Wow, so salty on a very positive video. Cheer up bud. Hope your day is getting better. Take a beer 🍺
Ok Karen
Hokkaido is too touristic! $500+ USD for a king crab is questionable! I can get a lot more of king crab from the USA with $500+ USD!
Love Sapporo fish markets cause some stalls let you customise your own rice bowl with different types of sashimi
Yes we do it in the next episode!
