Hello ASL Heroes!!! Hey, I could really use your help. If you’ve enjoyed having access to an expert in ASL you can help me continue my work for you. A small monthly donation from you would instantly make a big difference here at the studio because teachers don’t earn much and I could use some help paying for server and domain hosting for Lifeprint.com. Right now you can help out a humble (not to mention kind, caring, generous, compassionate, helpful, friendly, fair, and hard-working) ASL teacher -- just go here and a few clicks later you too will be a true “ASL Hero!” www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=64QMBRBXQSV6G Thanks! - Dr. Bill p.s. Bill, I'm so unbelievably grateful for you and your channel!!!! I have just recently become deaf due to a rare genetic disease that has attacked my muscles practically killing them and my muscles in my legs and inner ears went 1st…in less than 2 months I couldn't walk or hear… and I've been so lost…until I found your channel and website!!! I feel hope again, and like I can take back some control, thank you! I will be buying the USB as SOON as I can!! I need all your teachings and guidance!! Thank you again for giving hope to us who feel like we have lost control!!! I'm not scared anymore! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Holly, You got this! I very much love your assertion that you are taking back control of your destiny despite the vicissitudes of life! Update me from time to time. I want to know how you are doing! Also, consider checking with the Department of Rehabilitation Services in your state. If employment retraining is an option they can help pay for training (including ASL) depending on financial need. Also consider checking into SSI or SSDI (if you haven't already) if you are in need of financial support. I’m so sorry! I’m so glad you found him! I’ve been ONLY learning from him to help speak to my son. And he’s amazing!!!!! He just makes you enjoy it and laugh and you really memorize it quicker. He is a great teacher!
There are several of these videos which deal with one subject and for me, a beginner, they seem easier and more fun than other ASL videos. Thank you Dr. Bill and Marly!
I love this page. I have learned so much from Mr Vicars!!!!! Best place to learn sign. It has helped me communicate with my son, and now the smile on my son’s face now that we can communicate so much better!
I'm glad she did the Freudian slip because I would have done the same thing and now I know not to do that! lol. Amazing how one small change can have an entirely different meaning. I like these videos of various ways to use the same word in different contexts.
Thank you Mr Vicars. I recently met a deaf gentleman in a gas station. Your videos helped me to communicate with him. I was really nervous about my signing as i don't really have anyone to practice with. He said my signing was good and asked me where i learned. I told him from you. 💜💕💜

This lesson kinda helped me, I'm still learning how to learn without sound. I'm only learning to be able to communicate with more people deaf or autistic or anyone who uses sign language
I tried to make a fluttery finger handshape story and ended up with something beautiful, but diverging from the handshape limitations, totally worth it though~ Definitely trying to fit with limitations makes me think in new ways, subsets of signs, that~
Oh, is it a form of co-articulation to sign along the boundary of two signs, spatially, to invoke the meaning of both, simultaneously? This happens every once in a while, recently as I signed "cloud", I also signed "condense" at the same time, then, when hands meet, flung its water to the ground, it said exactly what I wanted, inflections are fun~
Hello @sign-language I work at a Deaf School in New Zealand and one of our Deaf Teachers is really interested in the setup you use for your videos. Are you able to tell us what size screen you are using (is it a computer monitor or TV?), what brand/model is the stand you are using, what camera you would prefer to use and what app you use to display the text? We would really appreciate any information you can provide. It's a great setup with two people presenting.

Thanks for this Dr V, really helpful seeing how to keep the meaning the same but ditching the English world

I also made a playlist of fluttery finger signs, mostly your clips, if you want you can make a video that talks about all the fluttery finger signs~~
@ 9:00 or so, I see a lot of similarities between 'set-up' and 'help' which makes sense, since they are both so relatable.
Nice video
There are many ways to say up in many different contexts
That’s probably what the point was
Thank you!
As I was signing along I made the same mistake! Full of sh*t instead of fill up the gas tank 😂
Thank you
Very well thank you
Awesome job 😊😊
