Two things; 1. Your wife is going to kill you when she sees this. 2. I feel you about not wanting to get a smaller bike, and wanting a bike that was comfortable, but not a Harley. My back is messed up too, and I don't even think I can do the RS. My very first bike after passing the MSF course is a Bonneville T120. Very comfy but can still do 130. That being said, what I've learned in the year I've had the bike is that I want something more sporty. Don't get me wrong, the Bonny isn't a couch like the Harleys are. It can at least attack a curve with some semblance of competence, it's just not geared towards that. My next bike is going to be either the Tuono 660 or the Street Triple. My heart says to get the Tuono, but my brain says the Street Triple. The problem is that there aren't any Aprilia dealers near me (nearest one is 2.5 hours away), and Aprilias don't exactly have a reputation for reliability. Now, after hearing your story, I'm leaning even more towards the Street Triple, but I still really want that Tuono.
I really don't know how long I'm going to be able to ride the super sports but whenever that time comes I'm definitely going with the Tuono V4!! There's no hesitation on my end with that decision. Especially now that I have the RSV4. That engine, with the sound and feel, and top it off with the torque. I'm definitely going to get a tuono in the future for sure 100%.... In Mama Bear wasn't exactly thrilled with the footage😅 I appreciate you watching the video in the comment brother!!
@@butternuts842 Aprilia didn't pay Iron Pony to investigate because of the amount of hours it would take to tear apart the engine and look into it so they decide to just to replace it with the new engine. However, I was told by a couple mechanics there that chances are it was an oil pressure valve that backed off into the engine or a bolt that wasn't torqued spec but they didn't specify what bolt it was... They said it isn't a common issue but it has happened.
@FreakishlyUNeek how did you find out there was an issue with your bike. I mainly wanna know what to look for in case my bike does the same thing. Thanks for the reply bro
@butternuts842 honestly there really wasn't a warning. One day I was riding to work you know, kind of in heavy traffic And then I felt some excessive vibration at my feet and when I looked at the dash that's when I seen the lights lit up.
@FreakishlyUNeek good to know. Thankfully I haven't had that issue yet so I was able to ride it 7k miles this year with just that one shifter issue. Thanks again for responding
@@balbinomercado7602 unfortunately Aprilia didn't pay the dealership to diagnose what happened. I was told it was more likely a oil pressure valve backing off an engine or some bolt that wasn't torque to specs backed out. But unfortunately it can't be confirmed. I will say though, that's why I got the 5-year extended warranty man... But I know a few people who have the same bike and hadn't had a problem at all with it so...🤷🏽
@@JAydUBr6 I did not man... I was just riding to work and fairly heavy traffic and felt significantly more vibration than usual and looked at the dash and it was flashing red. I'm just thankful Aprilia and my dealership The Iron Pony was able to get me a brand new engine ship to them and installed in less than 2 weeks so I could get back on the road.
I have a ‘22 RS 660 as my first bike and I really enjoy it. I have not had any issues/problems with mine in the year that I have owned it.
@@kylegatewood4947 The RS660 is an awesome bike, during the time I had it I absolutely loved it...!
I think this will probably be my next bike appreciate the view bro 🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@djsovain it's a great bike!! Take out the DB killer/Baffle and she's perfect👌🏽

16:45 What happened to the engine? I've had mine for 6 months now with the only issue of the pinch screw on the shifter coming loose but thats it
