- Phase 4 for Season of Discovery will be the most important phase yet, as the player base for SoD is dropping by the day due to multiple different factors but will phase 4 save Season of Discovery? I really think so as I believe it has much more potential!
Please let me know your thoughts on the current state of Season of Discovery and how you think phase 4 will go!

I started playing in 2006 as a kid, and was a solo until my brother got an account in BFA and I finally touched end game content. This will be my first time going through these old raids and I cant wait.
Ahh dude it'll be cool, the old raids we're easy but definitely fun and I think you'll enjoy them, they had a whole different vibe as 40 player though which I don't think 20 man will quite re-create but it should still be a blast!
I really hope it comes back. But a lot of damage has been done and the game is dying QUICK. They better do something fast or else general hype will die off further and no one will want to come back.
I feel ya, I'm praying this week coming will be a huge week for SoD, with big news, the PTR releasing etc. I do definitely agree something quick needs to be done!

@@evildark940be luck if ya see half to 2/3 back, and that is being optimistic. Too many things in phase 3 put people off, imbalanced stand out class for 2 phases, gaslighting ppl about it at that. Ptr seems like they nfi what they are doing with classes at this stage. It does not look good going forward.
Hope for best, the only problem i have is about next content sheudele, how many phases we will see? I cant see myself investing any time in wow end game that takes hours just to end season right after
I get what ya saying, though there will be atleast 6 months of 60 end-game at the minimum really because that'd make 1 whole year, although I personally think it'll be more along the lines of 18 months long in total making P4 potentially up to 1 year long. It'll most likely depend on the reception of phase 4 and if it revives the playerbase though for that to happen

I had fun and don’t regret my time leveling in SoD but that’s all vanilla wow is to me: a leveling experience.
The closer we get to max level, my interest slowly wains because Vanilla endgame is just not very good compared to expansion.
Vanilla is the best leveling experience of any MMORPG but the max level content frankly just hasn’t aged well nor will it be challenging with SoD classes.
Yeah for sure totally get your point! If any level of difficulty is what is wanted then vanilla isn't the place. I would say though definitely check out P4 when it comes, it could be pleasantly surprising, who knows what they might cook up!

Yeah it was supposed to be fun and for casuals but you can’t get into any raids unless you played since P1 and all of the guilds just use you to funnel gear

Not gonna lie I think im done with sod. I have dedicated my game time to other games now and have people relying on me there. I would assume im not the only one in this situation.
What are you currently playing now instead of sod/wow? Hopefully P4 smashes it and you'll be able to give it a whirl even if it's brief and casual :)!

@@DeeceTV Feels kind of gross to say but Diablo 4, and I'm on a GTA RP server and its hard to let a characters story just end when others depend on you for their story as well.
I basically just need something to do in SOD to play again.

True, it should definitely be more fulfilling at end-game, as we've already covered 6 months and as it's only seasonal it won't last years so there will be the entirety of the usual level 60 vanilla content plus whatever new content there is all in a short period of time which hopefully gives us plenty to do!
I don’t think so. It‘s just a season after all…so many guilds disbanded and just for the remaining season I for instance don’t wanna find a new one.
same, i dont have the will to go through the whole guild process. finding the right guild will mean going through 2 or 3 guilds, and then ur on the bottom prio list for a month, and then theres only 2 months left of gameplay left
@@kerokupo absolutely. I mean I searched my guild before launch and talked with a few people on discord before joining the guild. P1 was an absolute blast. P2 still was very good but with P3 people just seemed to care as less as blizz did😅
maybe we get a more permanent Classic+ somewhen:)
I’ll probably end up raid logging for the most part like I already am. Kinda burnt out from all the different available versions of WoW. I hope the population does come back and sticks around though.
Yeah there are definitely a lot of options right now, maybe a little too many tbh. Which version did you find the most enjoyable?
They HAVE to stick the landing on phase 4. I mean they need to make this shit fun and try to undo the wrongs of P3
I agree but I'm worried about Feralas and Hinterlands incursions being the optimal way to level. They really need to disable experience past level 50 in these two incursions or leveling in the world is going to be dead
For sure it needs to hit the spot and hopefully they are smart enough to either 1. make incursions daily for feralas/hinterlands or 2. disable any exp like mentioned past level 50

Era realms are packed now. I had little faith in SOD from the start mostly because I just simply was not looking for class changes. I was lazy and I knew I should have took advantage of the false SOD hype and took more advantage of the empty grinding spots. It's been getting more and more packed the longer phase 3 is out.
Are you currently only playing Era? I haven't touched Era in a while, is the playerbase really starting to grow alot more there now?
Fuck yeah! Market house prices are still weird on PvP but zones like winterspring, eastern plagueland, silithus, felwood etc have 10-15 60s on ally generally any time

I'm not sure, I vividly remember an interview way back in early P1 about characters being saved after the season and I'm pretty sure they said they will be transferred somewhere. How that works with gear/runes and it's complexity, I have no clue.

@ixplain it was definitely said they will go to a permanent server.
phase 5 will save it my server has no alliance cause everyone wants to play shaman tbc will fix that imbalance hopefully

Thanks! I wanted to upload it last week, unfortunately been a little under the weather. I still really want to create and upload that exact video but I'm not sure with the PTR being so close it'll be out of date faster than milk out of a fridge, so I'll probably wait for the PTR and then talk about the new rune changes and why they was needed etc!

I enjoyed SoD P1 and P2. It was very alt friendly and the 10 man raids were easy to form. P3 was no longer alt friendly, ST had way to much trash, and the 20 man raid size made it so much harder to form groups.
I'm honestly really enjoying cata. The hype for SoD has died for me.
Yeah heard similar opinions over phase 3 about the raid sizes, ST having too much trash and not being as alt friendly. Hopefully the PTR looks good though and it can start to bring momentum

It was never in danger. Sod was always a "throw stuff against the wall and see what sticks" thing. Just the first version of classic+. Don't treat it to serious.
Ya i dont see it being as big as it was in phase 1 they took way way way to long to fix alot of stuff and get content out. Why comeback and waste your time
Im genuinely afraid that most people gone are not coming back no matter what. Way too much damage was done in phase 3, for many its not repairable.
For me personally, I havent logged in in weeks. Im done. Unless this PTR shows that they have undone the damage done during P3, im not coming back. I just wanted classic plus with new dungeons, raids, gear, profession stuff, etc. Not god awful PvP events, and a broken, boring, tedious PvE event in the incursions that broke the economy and thus most of the rest of the game.
Oh I 100% share some of that feeling and I definitely think some will never come back but I do think a whole ton of people will give phase 4 a try just because it's the real end game raids, no longer just dungeons etc. If they do and it turns out that, hey p4 is great, then it could snowball and then more hype etc!
If you constantly put in a lot of overpowered items that were not included in the wow classic version, it will ultimately have consequences because wow classic 2005 was never balanced. What happens if we put in a lot of epics, rare items, plus exp buff and Nighmare pve event that destroys the entire economy and the entire social interaction in the game? Who wants to play this kind of game version?
For my part, it would have been enough New runes, new 5man elite quest, redone all the caves, in the beginner areas, for example passages or how the cave was designed in terms of design! They had created something new in the game! The same applies to quests in the instances, they could have been put in more like that. Or heroic mode to all instances, Rewardings - Heroic tokens you can buy gear for! This heroic mode should be like very hard content! Hire more Game master who can bann bots or gold seller faster.
Pvp event would have been enough with new battlegrounds for the game! Example Azshara who could have been a new one and with new reps and item rewardings.
Phase 4 is where it's at!
