- How will the Paladin look in phase 4 for Season of Discovery?
The PTR has been out for a good few days now and there's a ton of changes for every class and spec but none have received as many changes as the Paladin, which pretty much got an entire rework for every spec. So lets dive into the changes.
If you enjoyed the video, leave a like!
Thanks for watching & feel free to ask any questions - เกม
Yes! Was waiting for that Video. Love the deep dive youre doing on Paladin
Glad you enjoy it! :D
everytime i see there changes for paladin i come to the conclusion they have absolutly no plan what too do with all the "possible/viable" specs
The ptr runes are so undercooked in general. If they released the phase with these runes as is this would be very troubling
It’s definitely been a weird one for paladin since phase 2
The thing is that they aren't touching core talents so paladin is fundamentaly broken and incomplete . Their runes aren't improving the class. They are making it work.
They basically make something pallies will like, then take it away bc it will make them too powerful (like shaman have been all of sod)
Didnt we get divine steed for a capcloser?
Thank god some love for holy. Been playing holy since p1 and it is long overdue for some changes.
I know right, it's about dam time xD, I think they will be eating very gooood in P4
If the 6 set for ret can actually twist a 3rd seal, it's gonna be juicer
Going to be interesting to find out!
They've already said activating a third seal will clear all current seals so only two seals allowed
Omg! is that means a pallies can be normal tanks and dps in raids now?
what damage meter works for you? details doesnt or i have not found the correct version
Recount is what is used here and works fine on the PTR!
what is the ret rotation now? i been trying to make a 1 button macro i can spam i don't mind if it's not optimal .
The ret rotation going into P4 before getting 6pc T1 primarily looks to twist every auto, using a filler inbetween autos (CS/DS/Exo) and judge every 3rd twist for a "judge twist" to get 2 judgements off. With this playstyle there is no macro that can be made that'll be one button, although I wouldn't recommend using a 1 button macro, if you really wanted to, there was a wotlk one button cast sequence macro that you could find which will just cycle through the next available spell but it would need to be slightly altered because it doesn't account for classic seal and judgements
@@DeeceTV seal twisting is so annoying. id rather the exorcism build was still good. At least something happens when you press buttons. seals feel like raptor strike and heroic strike in that you have to wait for auto attacks which is annoying.
Shockadin and reckoning build are very good or mid at best ? Ohh btw they need to fix to put the highest resistance or immune with the purging of shaman for wings and seals is so annoying vs them lol ( also wings for 30 secs than 1 mins forbiddance )
Mid at Best.
I hope they swap the 6 pc for prot and the improved sanc rune. Obviously I don't think the 100% SB scaling will go live, maybe keep it at 30%.
I was honestly kind of surprised that improved sanc wasn’t changed in any way, like a skill book of some sorts
I never noticed the boss dummies have boobs
Set bonuses look nice but the stats on the items are still shit, why would i need + heal and spirit as prot and ret?
I don't think the stats on the pieces are correct yet, as they aren't finalized
@@DeeceTV i hope they change the stats to useful ones
Becose they give you healing tier bonus and remouve the healing in seath of light.
Since prot talents are actually viable rn, the nerf to Hammer of the Righteous is noting making sense. We already lose 25% dmg from not having Sancity aura and Vengeance since we were forced to play retri talents as prot, on top of that reduce the dmg by 50% on hotr..THATS A 75% DMG NERF.
If we bring it back as it was it will hit for 300 dmg without Sancity Aura and Vengeance, (since we play PROT NOW) maybe reduce the dmg to 3x to the AoE targets and keep 4x for the main target. Because rn this dmg is absurd, 152 per hit -.- th-cam.com/video/h8vTnl6jxdE/w-d-xo.html
It makes a lot of sense, but is mostly ret paladin related I think. You still gain 10% 1h dmg from prot tree, so it's not as much of a nerf, and prot pala threat is going to increase tremendously with how well we will scale with block value (200% to holy shield damage, 30% to blessing of sanctuary damage and of course shield of the righteous as well).
It felt weird that the best strategy for ret paladins as soon as you had 2 or more targets was to put on a 1hander and use HotR, but that is not going to be the case anymore. I really hope that consecration and divine storm is going to be enough for ret paladins to not fall behind on cleave and aoe fights, but I have my doubts. Would have loved to see HotR be usable with 2handers as well.
It was honestly the right choice to make because at the end of the day, a tanks job isn't to do DPS, it's to keep threat and stay alive. This fixes the part where they we're doing too much damage without changing their threat output and also it fixes the annoyance for rets to have to do stupid shit to stay competitive in cleave. Plus when it comes to aoe in the future when tanks get the 6pc T1, they'll probably do more damage than HoTR would ever do anyway
@@DeeceTV Have you seen Gladiator spec DPS in Sunken Temple? I want Retribution to do well. Instead of asking to nerf Hammer of the Righteous (HoTR), you Retribution guys should ask for a buff to Divine Storm. The DPS that Protection was doing wasn't just because of HoTR but also due to Exorcism procs. PvE is not the only part of the game. Now the damage of HoTR in PvP is absurd, hitting for 150 damage, while we have Shamans throwing fire bolts from 40 yards away that hit for 2500.It's sad and totally unfair to prot pallies that only retribution paladins asked for nerf to HoTR.
@@valorf666 But you are prot paladin, you are not supposed to have fun. kekw
@@valorf666Glad stance isn't technically a tank, they actually have reduced threat and Increased DMG taken, glad tanking is basically just fury tanking with a shield
IMO Pvp should be balanced around the classes inherent kit not a profession. A niche trinket you got from a quest or mob sure. Leaning on 3-10-30-60 min cd trinket/consume/on use that’s locked behind a profession to win a fight doesn’t translate to pvp “skill”.
At least for me if I lose a fight cause I get rocket helmed and dude gets full reset it doesn’t feel like oh I got outplayed I shoulda done this or next time I can… he’s just has a win button. Easy answer: just take engineering but then everyone who even want to remotely succeed at pvp has to take engineering…
TL:DR mad cause bad
and if your opponent uses engineering as well... it made little to no difference. It has to come from the class toolkit.
Tanks outdps all DPS bcs all paladins tanks are playing retri runes and talents. bcs tank runes and talnets are doing literaly nothing, same goes for tank gear.
I'm so happy now that prot is looking like it's gonna be a real spec again though, probably not until the 6pc T1 but it'll be nice to see prots going into the prot tree again!
@@DeeceTV I happy too, but I think they are taking out too much dmg, for prot as for retri. Warriors already pumping 3K as tanks, do they get any nerfs ?
Yeah they should nerf all tank damage from every spec, no tank should be consistently over pure DPS specs
Str n attack power debuffs on don't work on bosses
Yes it does. The problem is that bosses str and ap only accounts for like 5-10% of the dmg they do
@@Brat2513 negligible
Prot tree is awfull. Block value is worst stat in the game. Why have 2 block stats when 1 dodge do all that and 100% domage. Torn is bad to regain treath and off-tanking. The competition is miles ahead. And now paladin aoe is the worst one? Rerolling if noting happend. And i play sod for paladin...
