I did not know there was a fwd version.. i have a 2014 interceptor, i also have the 3.7 awd. When i bought it i was under the impression it was the ecoboost and was pretty upset when i found out it wasnt but i did alot of research and im actually glad now. The EcoBoost has alot of problems. Thats fine for the police because they use all our money to repair them, but me, i got to do it myself so im happy to have the 3.7. Its still fast as hell, i call it my "race tank made by Mercedes" . Its fast as all hell, designed to do severe damage to any car in my way and not be bothered, and its stupid comfortable. Im a full time single dad, but im a racecar guy so this is getting both the perfect family car for my kid, its probably the safest one u can get out there and i still get my racecar daily driver. The only thing i had to sacrifice was its automatic. I can deal with it tho lol

It's called "transverse mounted". Most cars these days are as such, and most smaller SUV's. Also the spark plugs are easier to change (firewall side) on the 3.5 ecoboost engine. I just bought one last week and I love it!

A week, maybe a week and a half ago Mass had these 2-3 days where it was so cold out. And my 13’ Taurus ended up overheating in single digit weather. Long story short, I found out he needs a new water pump. And just today I paid out $1,200 and got my car back. Most of the cost came from labor considering mine is the 3.5L v6 awd and in order to replace the water pump, you have to take the engine out essentially. Still wouldn’t trade my Taurus for anything. Awesome video as always, keep up the great work!

you have to take the engine out just to replace the water pump, i don't think i'll ever buy a newer car

technically the full name is a Ford Taurus Police Interceptor Sedan, if you run the VIN on any of these cars the make and model is listed as a Ford Taurus and the trim level is Police Interceptor, not the model. I know Ford was trying to market the new interceptors as the PI Sedan and PI Utility but they still officially kept Taurus and Explorer on the VINs as the models, just like the CVPI was officially a Crown Victoria with the Police Interceptor trim/package. I believe Ford was trying to differentiate the Taurus and Explorer PIs from the civilian versions since people buying the civilian versions new for 30 or 40 or 50k loaded with luxury options don't want their car to be confused with a stripped out cop car with rubber floors. Civilian CVs were never that popular since the tough police image of the car ruined the image of the civilian luxury car, and the mercury and lincoln versions did much better even though it's clearly the same car.

Transverse engine. “Newer” cars has transverse engines due to fwd. Look under where your battery is. Thats where the transmission is located. I’ve only owned 1 fwd transverse engine car for a few months and the others were longitudinal V8’s. I’m used to longitudinal V8’s 🙌

I have had friends in the car, i always have my kid with me, never had any issue with room at all.
