I recently picked up a 2013 interceptor all black with everything on it. Tint all around even the front windshield, Pa system with all the sirens and lights inside and outside the vehicle, the antenas intact with 65k miles for $7,600. it was a detectives car and sold it to me for that price.
Thanks for this video. I've been shopping for an interceptor and finally found one in great shape. It's a 2017 Taurus with the 3.7. It's white which is the most common color I've been seeing online. The sheriff department took good care of it. I also plan to add some antennas and tint. I'm on the fence about replacing the spotlight. They replaced the outside siding, but I can see the hole from the inside.
got a 2013 blue detective interceptor like this but no spotlight, came with a console bluetooth and carpets and love it, great car but yours looks clean. great car
So you actually have the 3.7 liter V6 AWD! I live here in IL as well and depending on where you live, definitely be careful with the tint. It still looks good on your car.
Yes I did end up finding out about that down the road but I had a buddy that owns a shop so did the whole alarm for 100 bucks 2 mile radius so I just did aftermarket
CGR Cars, Guns, and Reviews yeah same, but I’m not sure if I should preemptively replace it or not since it’s not giving me problems (yet). But, if I do end up doing so, do you know how much it would cost to have Ford replace it at the dealership? Will all Taurus’s and Explorer Interceptors eventually need to get it replaced or do some end up not giving any problems at all, in the long run?
@@sagecastro4446 I have an interceptor also, and I had my timing chain go out. With that they also replaced my water pump since it was right there next to the chain. Dunno how that chain got stretched but it costed 2k for the whole deal
Nice ride, is it legal to drive this car around town ? I heard the water pump problem is only for 2011 down, at 2012 the pump was changed to a heavy duty style.
The water pump issues plagued the 3.5 & 3.7 engines right up to the last year they made the Taurus. They all suffer this issue, best to keep your eye on you coolant levels & oil levels.
CGR Cars, Guns, and Reviews Other Taurus owners have been saying that they had theirs enabled at the local Ford dealerships, so I might do that. I was just wondering if it could be done yourself, instead of having to go to Ford though.
went to a local car audio shop and they programmed the aux for me. i purchased the AUX connection from a website for around $110 and had the same shop install it.
Nice looking vehicle! Originally wanted one in the dark blue color but ended up with a 2013 in white. So far my mods have been power related, got the 3.7, went with a LMS 93 octane tune, CAI, and got ported upper/lower intake manifolds. Also got a throttle controller for the pedal. Next plans are a ported throttle body and a higher stall torque converter. I need to take a new video, here is some 0-60 with just the CAI(cold air intake) and the LMS 93 octane tune... the tune alone knocked off about a whole second from my 0-60, the CAI was mainly just for the sound, sounds much louder under full throttle but for normal driving not much of a difference so it won't drive you crazy. th-cam.com/video/OEJ3WUjWRk0/w-d-xo.html
Thanks I'll check that out white great choice well here were I'm at dark blue is rarely seen it's more white and black police vehicles but at night vehicle looks black from a distance

No problem your welcome I would add that spot light back to give it that aggressive lock back
@@cgrreviews7220 What's a good ballpark cost for putting a new spotlight on? I'm not mechanically inclined, so I would have to pay someone to do it.

Have you ever thought of wiring up the the strobes on the side of the car to be part of the turn signal system?
I did but i would have to get some that don't strobe
Good idea. Put Bridgestone Blizzaks on the current steelies for winter. And I would do a new set of Continental DWS for a new Steelies.
Yea not a bad idea
There’s a good reason you haven’t been messed with in that car. Lol

Are the speakers in these interceptors good when playing music on your phone or radio
They are not the best speakers out there being a police car they are not really looking at premium car speakers for a police car but they are ok
how to fold down the back seat to get to the trunk
I don't have the vehicle anymore so not sure about that

Nope that console is the exact size of the base so just drill 2 holes in the front and back to hold it down
NICE !
Thanks
you planning on replacing the water pump?

Hows the ac work?
Good 100 percent never had issues with it

Why not lower it? With Eibach or H&R sport springs?
