    The mom should have never bought this kid a car with all his issues. Selling drugs, skipping school, can't hold a job and she thought a car that he didn't have to work for would straighten him out and give him "responsibility".

      That’s true because kids with autism doesn’t think straight and James mom was frustrated because she can’t just not realize her frustration what cost the problem because that not helpful in this cases like this because it happened in other cases as well. Bruce

      @brackenrobertson799 agree with you 100% that mom is nuts and Judge Judy is looking at this the wrong way. Not every parent has their child's best interests in mind. Every time that kid brought up something good he did, his mom had to smack him down with some kind of ridiculous comment or rude claim. Heck she even said something nasty about his girlfriend 4th cousin, I don't think that even matters anymore, 1st or 2nd maybe, but I don't think they keep counting after that.

    When the mom shouted out that the girlfriend was his fourth cousin, I started questioning her more.
    In some states, first cousins can marry. In all states (I think), second cousins can marry.
    Fourth cousins share less than 1% of their DNA. If mom here thinks that is incesteous, she's got screws loose.
    Honestly, I think this case belongs on Dr. Phil. Or Jerry Springer.

    • @brt5273
      @brt5273 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@lydiaedwards8100Yeah... it's different, but you think this guy has a first cousin and this girl is their great-great -great -grandchild? Or he's got a great-great-great-grandparent with a sibling and this girl is that sibling's child? Because those are the only two scenarios for first cousin four times removed. In case you can't understand, the ages are impossibly off for a timeline like that, and even if it were so, they would still be so distantly related as to be inconsequential.

    • @anndeecosita3586
      @anndeecosita3586 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Must be a cultural thing because I am well acquainted with lots of my 3rd and 4th cousins. I have known them all my life since we have the same 3x and 2x great grandparents. I also have cousins who are related to me through multiple branches of my family so that 1 percent calculation you made isn’t always true. My grandma has double first cousins and we have other situations in our tree of two siblings marrying two siblings. I would never entertain the idea of being romantically involved with any of my cousins and don’t give a damn if it’s legal. I know some people are into that whole Kissing Cousins but my family considers it embarrassing.

    • @anndeecosita3586
      @anndeecosita3586 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jeffreyclinard2002I know that’s why I brought it up. My great grandfather and one of his brothers married two sisters. Therefore some of my grandma’s first cousins have all the same four grandparents as she and her siblings do. So that gave her an uncle and aunt who are both by blood and marriage. So I am more closely related to their children and grandchildren than I am to my grandma’s cousins that only share two grandparents even with it being the same generation away. I also have some cousins related to both of my grandfather’s parents although my grandfather’s parents aren’t related. My great grandfather’s sister married his wife’s cousin. My first cousin on my mom’s side had a crush on my first cousin on my dad’s side. I intentionally discouraged it because I don’t want any more double cousins. I have enough.

      Sooo, the Mom is blameless in this situation? Seems like she already couldn't handle the number of children she had living at home, especially w/ the oldest being autistic. Then had a much younger child that she's upset James & his sister aren't doing enough to help raise. And thinks taking her son to court to air all this dirty laundry is going to help?

She loaned him money for a car, my dad wouldn't even let me drive his car, or teach me to drive, let alone lone me money for a car. There is nothing wrong with being a strict parent who sets boundaries. 90% of teenagers will have a long list of BS reasons to despise a parent. From having a curfew to be in the house, to limiting how many hours they can watch TV, play videos games, surf the internet, limit cell phone use, what time they have to go to bed, eat your vegies, no drinking until you turn 21, no smoking pot in their house, don't smoke cigarettes, don't hang with a teenager with a criminal record. You name it, this kid who literally demised from alcohol poisoning at 16, and had to be revived is 100% to blame for all his decisions. Or did she pour that stuff down his throat. Or do you think she was standing beside him yelling chug chug?

      @@DIDYOUSEETHAT172 Like it or not: at age 16 or 17 the Mother, as his parent & legal guardian, IS responsible for her minor child's behavior. So no, she is not "blameless". He had some responsibility for this situation as well, but no where near what hers was because she is the adult who has all the power & control over her child's life. And yes, that includes being 100% responsible for his medical care if he overdosed on drugs or alcohol. Plus: what's making a teenager want to engage in this behavior? Usually something is missing from their life or is extremely wrong with their home environment
      It seems she was far too busy making new kids that she wasn't prepared to care for instead of tending to the family she already had.
      And I don't get any kind of "strict parent" or tough love vibes from her towards her son. Just toxic, angry, dysfunctional behavior.
